Oprah & Aniston Mock Wedding Reports

Oprah Winfrey invited pal Jennifer Aniston to call into her TV show recently so the pair could address incorrect rumors the media mogul was planning to stage the actress' nuptials at her California estate. The stars mocked reports about an $8 million reception, which Winfrey was planning to stage at her exclusive Santa Barbara County home, complete with performances by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Coldplay. Aniston, whose telephone chat with Winfrey aired on TV yesterday, said, "It sounds like you're giving me Santa Barbara." Aniston also poked fun at press reports that she's desperately house hunting with boyfriend Vince Vaughn, adding, "I'm really good, I've got my house." Winfrey also used the show to ridicule reports she has split from longtime boyfriend Steadman Graham. The media queen insists one US tabloid took the story too far when they got hold of photos of Winfrey dropping her beau off at the airport. She mocked, "The photo they have, I was asking him, 'Are you sure you have your ticket?' but it said I was very angry that 'the tension between us could be felt by everyone in the vicinity.'" She reassured fans, "If we ever do (break-up) I promise, I promise the night it happens, if it ever happens, I will come on TV the next day and tell you."

Vatican Slams 'Da Vinci Code'

Vatican official Father Raniero Cantalamessa has added to widespread criticism of Dan Brown's best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code, branding it as just another example of Jesus Christ being sold out. Cantalamessa made his comments in a sermon commemorating Christ's death at St. Peter Basilica's church in Vatican City on Good Friday, in the presence of Pope Benedict XVI. Although Cantalamessa didn't specifically mention the name of the book, he made several references to the "pseudo-historic" work by saying people were obsessed with "every new theory according to which he (Christ) was not crucified and did not die, but ran off with Mary Magdalene." He also criticized the upcoming film version of the book, which will star Tom Hanks. Cantalamessa says, "No one will be able to stop this wave of speculation, which will see a sharp increase with the imminent release of a certain film."

'South Park' Creators Attack Comedy Central

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have used the latest episode of the animated comedy to attack Comedy Central - because the network banned the use of an image of the Prophet Muhammad in an episode. Last Wednesday's show instead featured an image of Jesus Christ defecating on President George W. Bush and the US flag. The episode also featured character Kyle trying to convince a Fox Network official to show an episode of Family Guy with an image of the Prophet Muhammad in it. Kyle tells the network, "Either it's all okay, or none of it is. Do the right thing." In the episode the Fox officials decided to show the image, but a caption is displayed, reading "Comedy Central have refused to broadcast an image of Muhammad on their network." The ban comes after a Danish publication published caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. Comedy Central are standing by their decision, saying, "In light of recent world events, we feel we made the right decision."

He added, "We're good friends. We actually hooked up on a song. He raps in French. He kills in French. It sounds sexy, I don't know what he's saying. He could just be saying, 'Order me dinner.' It's a trip to hear it."

Gibson Epic Hit by Storms

The set of Mel Gibson's latest movie epic Apocalypto has been hit by South American storms, prompting studio bosses at Disney to scrap plans for a summer release. The film, which follows the journey of a Mayan hero on the run through the rainforests of Mexico, was set to be released around the world in August, but now it will hit cinemas at Christmas. Disney bosses have confirmed the release delay, stating on Sunday that the production had fallen behind because of heavy rains in Mexico, where Gibson is shooting the film.

George Michael Admits Three-Car Crash

George Michael has admitted crashing into three parked cars in North London and will be quizzed by police. The pop star, who was arrested for possessing cannabis earlier this year when he was found slumped at the wheel of his car, was accused by witnesses on Sunday morning of shunting a string of vehicles in his $105,000 top-of-the-range motor. The incident saw Michael drive away without telling owners he had bashed their cars, but a representative of the hitmaker has since reported it to police. A police spokeswoman confirms, "An appointment has been made to speak to the registered owner (of the vehicle) in due course." British newspaper the Daily Mirror reports the star has already made contact with victims over financial compensation for the damage caused.

Pop star Madonna is having a massive "disco-fied" crucifix made as one of the centerpieces for her upcoming tour. The singer has raised eyebrows before with her controversial use of religious images and now she'll shock again with the flashing cross. A source claims Madonna will descend to the stage on the glittering disco-ball crucifix, covered with diamonds and Swarovski crystals. The ball is rumored to cost $10 million, and is being constructed at a well-guarded airplane hangar in Los Angeles for her Confession On A Dance Floor tour.
