Pitt and Jolie Plan Namibian Birth?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will have their baby in the southern African country of Namibia, a government official has revealed. The Mr. And Mrs. Smith co-stars are even planning a local name for the child as a tribute to the country they "love." South Africa's the Sunday Times reports that Samuel Sheefeni Nuuyoma, governor of the Erongo region of Namibia, enjoyed breakfast with the couple on Friday in their luxury Burning Shores resort hotel. He claims, "They are having the baby here, and they talked about giving the child a Namibian name. She (Jolie) loves Namibia."

Cruise Denies 'South Park' Rumors

War Of The Worlds star Tom Cruise has slammed media reports he was responsible for stopping the rebroadcast of a controversial South Park episode poking fun at him. During an interview on ABC's Primetime the actor was adamant he had nothing to do with a repeat of the animated show being pulled off the air at the last minute, insisting he was too involved filming Mission: Impossible III to worry about such trivial matters. He explains, "First of all, could you ever imagine sitting down with anyone? I would never sit down with someone and question them on their beliefs. Here's the thing. I'm really not even going to dignify this. I honestly didn't really even know about it. I'm working, making my movie, I've got my family. I'm busy. I don't spend my days going, 'What are people saying about me?'"

Opus Dei Demand 'Da Vinci' Disclaimer

Catholic group Opus Dei has called on the makers of upcoming film The Da Vinci Code to include a disclaimer, out of respect for their beliefs. The film, based on the Dan Brown bestseller, has caused controversy within the Catholic community for its unorthodox theories on Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. And it portrays Opus Dei as a corrupt, barbarous cult at the centre of a cover-up of the truth about Christ. Opus Dei posted the letter to Sony on their Italian website. It reads, "Any such decision by Sony would be a gesture of respect toward the figure of Jesus, to the history of the Church and to the religious beliefs of viewers." Sony spokesperson Jim Kennedy says, "We have no plans to reveal any details regarding what is or isn't in the film until the release." He adds that the film was "a work of fiction, and at it's heart, it's a thriller, not a religious tract."

Zhang Yimou To Direct Olympic Ceremonies

Acclaimed Chinese film-maker Zhang Yimou will direct the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Raise The Red Lantern and House Of Flying Daggers director will work alongside Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, who will be an artistic adviser. Spielberg says, "Our one goal is to give the world a taste of peace, friendship and understanding. Through the visual arts, the art of celebration of life, we are dedicated to making this the most emotional opening ceremony ever." More than 400 proposals for the opening ceremony were submitted to the Beijing Olympic Committee, and elements from the best five have been commissioned. Zhang says, "I'm very honored to become executive director of the ceremonies. To complete it will require the efforts of the whole team and the advisers from home and abroad. I make a solemn promise to the Chinese people I will complete the task beautifully and successfully."

Lohan Looks for Kabbalah Guidance

Lindsay Lohan is turning to the Jewish mysticism of the Kabbalah in an effort to break away from her reputation as a wild child. The actress/singer admits she's sick of the perception that she's little more than a party girl and wants to be taken more seriously. She says, "I want people to know me for the work I'm doing, not for this party girl image." And she's hoping that the religion championed by Madonna, and dabbled with by pal Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, will help. She adds, "I am looking into Kabbalah." Lohan is also planning an awareness trip to Kenya later this year for the One Foundation charity, and she's planning to breakaway from teen movies by starring alongside Meryl Streep, Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda.

Mormon Heder Avoids Hollywood Limelight

Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder is desperately trying to stay true to his strict Mormon upbringing, despite of his new found fame. The actor is currently starring in The Benchwarmers with Hollywood party boys David Spade and Rob Schneider, but shuns life in the fast lane. He explains, "I kind of like staying out of the limelight. I hardly ever go to Hollywood parties. I'm just not used to parties. I'm still living a very non-Hollywood life. I live in an apartment with termites and a leaky roof. I drive a crappy car." The actor maintains a strict Mormon lifestyle, which includes no drinking alcohol, no drugs, no smoking and no caffeine. He adds jokingly, "I like to have fun, but I don't drink and I don't run around naked. Alone, I do. But, you know, not in front of people."

Holloway Considered Playboy Lifestyle

Lost star Josh Holloway considered dumping his faithful fiancee in favor of a playboy lifestyle when he found fame. The actor, who plays Sawyer, began to develop fantasies about becoming a younger Hugh Hefner as his hunky physique attracted the attention of women the world over. But Holloway, who is now happily married, was too much in love with wife Yessica to act on his urges. He tells PageSix.com, "When Lost took off, part of me thought, 'Do I cut and run?' I still like to look around, but respectfully and with no intentions. 'Married, not buried,' I always say. If I were single?... Damn, I'd have one girl doing my laundry, one shaving me, one bringing me a cocktail and another one coming out of my tent all hung over."

Jackson Confirms Financial Deal

The details of pop superstar Michael Jackson's efforts to stave off bankruptcy have been confirmed by the singer's legal firm. Grahame Nelson, of Qays H Zubi Attorneys & Legal Consultants, have issued a statement on behalf of the Thriller hitmaker outlining his deal with record giant Sony, and the refinancing of his massive loans. He said, "(Jackson) has restructured his finances with the assistance of Sony Corporation of America. Following negotiations with several leading financial institutions, Mr. Jackson has concluded refinancing with affiliates of Fortress Investment Group, the lender that currently holds secured debts that were previously held by Bank of America." On Thursday the New York Times reported Jackson has also negotiated a deal with Sony to hand over shares in his treasured The Beatles back catalogue. According to the publication, Sony could receive as much as 50 per cent of his interests. The deal would bring his stake in the catalogue down to just 25 percent, as Sony already own half of the catalogue following the singer's previous financial difficulties.

Keys Teams Up with Johansson for 'Nanny Diaries'

Singer Alicia Keys is teaming up with Lost in Translation actress Scarlett Johansson for the big screen version of The Nanny Diaries. Johansson stars as a working-class woman who becomes a nanny to a wealthy New York City family, while Keys takes the part of her best friend. This is the second movie role for the singer - she has just finished filming Smokin' Aces with Ben Affleck, Don Cheadle and Jason Bateman. The film, based on the best-selling book by Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin, will begin shooting in New York City this month.

Lewis To Star in West End Play

Juliette Lewis is set to make her stage debut as the heroine of Sam Shepard's classic play Fool For Love. The Natural Born Killers actress, 32, will play one of a pair of doomed lovers in London's West End this summer and admits she is thrilled at the prospect. She says, "So I'm playing May in the first play I've ever done. I've performed in front of all kinds of crowds in my band, but this is the first time doing a play and I just couldn't say no. The material is so provocative and visceral that I'm really excited to do it."
