Cruise Denies Adult Pacifier for Holmes
Tom Cruise has hit out at reports he has bought an adult pacifier to keep fiancee Katie Holmes quiet during childbirth. The heavily pregnant actress plans to adhere to strict Scientology rules and give birth without screaming, crying or making loud noises, and Star magazine insisted Cruise would help by providing a specially designed device to bite. A source tell the magazine, "He commissioned an adult-sized 'binky' for her to clench between her teeth, hoping that it'll squelch her screams. In keeping with a Scientology silent birth, Tom is prepared to do whatever it takes to muffle Katie's moans and groans during the delivery." Cruise's publicist Arnold Robinson has dismissed the reports as nonsense. On Tuesday fellow Scientologist John Travolta lent his support to the controversial birth plans.
Clooney's Casino Scrapped

The Oscar-winner and top club boss Rande Gerber - husband of Cindy Crawford - are among the investors in the ambitious project which was set to open its doors next year. But Clooney is turning his attention to finding new backers for his 1950s-style gaming establishment following the collapse of the deal. He tells the New York Daily News, "Since our controlling partners wanted to sell the space. I'll donate my profits from the sale to the African Debt Relief Project - and I guess I'll find someplace else to gamble." Gerber remains optimistic about the future: "There are several great opportunities on the table, including a potential sale of the land. Regardless of the outcome, George and I are committed to developing a Vegas project together."

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher insists she is still single, despite her recent public kissing session with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. The single mother hit the headlines last week when Us Weekly published photos of the couple locking lips on a Malibu, California, beach. Speaking on Access Hollywood, Hatcher says, "Well, I guess what's caught on film is caught on film, and it would be hard for me to stand here and say that it wasn't, you know me, I'm not a liar, and I wouldn't do that. "I'm not (attached). Just say it one more time in case! "Everyone clearly knows about my pathetic, single, dating life, right? You know what I think, obviously there's been some stuff going on and I think my life for good or bad is similar to a reality show." Despite Hatcher's insistence she's still looking for love, Seacrest spoke about the actress on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last Thursday, declaring, "She's fantastic, she's great. I think she's a beautiful woman, she's a great dresser."

Hilton claimed her boyfriend was at home concentrating on his studies at the University of Southern California saying, "He's meeting me here in a little bit. He's studying. He has a 12-page paper due this week. "He's turning 21 in two weeks, so he wants to get all the work done before the big birthday." I've got everyone galvanized, I've cleared my schedule, and it's going to happen soon. God willing, I will be a mom by this time next year." But now Latifah, real name Dana Owens, has confessed she isn't planning to get pregnant - she's looking to adopt an abandoned American baby. She explains, "I definitely plan on going through with adoption." But the Chicago star knows the odds are stacked against her as a single adoptive mother - thanks to America's strict laws. She adds, "There's a law that tries to keep the family together - so if you've had an adopted child for up to three years or so, the birth mother can come back and reclaim the child if they pull themselves together. "The law is good in a way because you love to see parents pull themselves together, but that's got to be tough on the adoptive parents, who've grown up to love that child."
