Tyler To Undergo Operation

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will undergo surgery on his throat later this week, but continues to deny rumors he is battling cancer. The Walk This Way rocker is thought to be suffering from strained vocal cords and has canceled the remaining 12 dates of the band's North American tour. Tyler, who celebrates his 58th birthday on Sunday, is refusing to elaborate on his health, but admits he will be unable to sing for up to three months after the operation. A spokesperson for the rocker refused to reveal Tyler's ailment, but says, "Despite Aerosmith's desire to keep the tour going as long as possible, Tyler's doctors advised him not to continue performing to give his voice time to recover." The band currently has no plans to reschedule canceled dates.

Star Jones Confirms Breast Enhancement

Beloved TV host Star Jones has undergone cosmetic surgery to have her breasts lifted. The newlywed co-presenter of magazine show The View has spoken out about her procedure following reports her elective breast lift procedure went wrong and she suffered "critical complications." Sources close to Jones claim she was taken to Santa Monica, California's Saint John's Health Center, where she underwent a blood transfusion on Friday night. After days of speculation, Jones' spokesperson confirmed the TV star had undergone the procedure, but refused to comment on the problems. She says, "Star is recovering wonderfully." Ironically, The View star's husband, Al Reynolds, also found himself in the hospital over the weekend - after suffering two lacerations to his head after slipping at the gym.

'American Idol' Producers Nearly Fired Abdul

American Idol producers came close to firing judge Paula Abdul earlier this month - and wanted to offer her job to Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson. Tensions on the set of the hit TV show were running high and producers were considering firing the former singer for her erratic behavior. A source tells American magazine Us Weekly, "Paula was being very difficult. (She was) crying all the time and arriving late for meetings." The stress from the situation drove Abdul seek medical attention and she was treated for "exhaustion and dehydration." According to the source, executives from the show discussed replacing the troubled judge: "(They) liked Jessica (Simpson) a lot. And some were pushing for Britney (Spears)." Neither star ended up meeting with Idol producers and they decided to keep Abdul - for now. Abdul's representative denies the allegations: "Paula is always a joy on the set and everyone loves her. If they were looking at Britney or Jessica, that's news to me."

Longoria Hits Back at Lousy Lover Comments

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has dismissed reports she finds her boyfriend inexperienced in bed, insisting she's the one with things to learn. The 31-year-old actress has described their initial meeting as "lust at first sight" but last weekend she allegedly admitted she had to lead the way for her 23-year-old French boyfriend in the bedroom. She also revealed basketball ace Tony Parker had only had one other sexual partner before going out with her. But Longoria now insists she was horribly misquoted and she is the more naive lover of the two. She tells Us TV show Extra, "When the lights are out, he's the teacher and I'm the student."

Lindsay Lohan As Wonder Woman?

Herbie: Fully Loaded star Lindsay Lohan is desperate to play Wonder Woman in the forthcoming movie version of the comic book superhero. The 19-year-old Freaky Friday actress admits she'd like to showcase her talents outside of kid and teen films, but feels the role would be too fun to turn down. She says, "Wonder Woman would be cool. I'm trying to find roles right now that are different to anything I've done to show my abilities, to show that I have some sort of stretch in me. Because most of the things that I've done so far are aimed at younger girls and are light-hearted."

Costner's Fury at Link to Lewd Case

Kevin Costner has angrily rubbished reports he is the mystery star who performed a sexual act on himself during a massage at a spa in Fife, Scotland. The revelations are part of a British court case, in which a masseuse is suing a former employer, claiming she was fired following the incident with the unnamed superstar. The Rumor Has It actor, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of dropping his towel and pleasuring himself, just moments before his wife went in for a massage with the same therapist, in October 2004. But Costner, who spent his honeymoon at the resort with his bride Christine, is furious his name has been linked to the case. His representative Paul Bloch tells the New York Daily News, "We find it unfortunate that Mr. Costner's name has been brought into what is essentially a dispute between a company owned by a good friend of his and a former employee - and that it would tarnish what was a wonderful time spent at this resort with his wife."

Stallone: "I Didn't See Ellen Choke"

Sylvester Stallone has defended his failure to rescue choking actress Ellen Barkin in an Los Angeles restaurant earlier this month - insisting he didn't realize she was in trouble. The Big Easy star almost died from suffocation at the posh Sunset Tower Hotel's Tower Bar, when Hollywood agent Kevin Huvane saved her with the Heimlich maneuver. But the action hero insists he was unaware of the desperate situation. He says, "I had no idea Ellen was in the restaurant. If she was coughing or dying, she was doing it politely. I would have been more than happy to reach down her throat or squeeze her hard. Sat there dumbfounded? Please! I would have rallied round - just to avoid paying the bill."

Streisand Tour Yet To Be Agreed

Barbra Streisand is still deciding whether or not she will return for a proposed concert tour. The singer bid farewell to her fans with a "final" live appearance in September 2000 - but rumors have circulated that she is close to agreeing a 20-date touring extravaganza which could pocket her a staggering $2 million from each show. But Streisand's publicist Dick Guttman says, "A tour is being explored, but nothing has been finalized and it could still go either way." If the singer does decide to tour, Guttman says there are some "really interesting aspects about it that for now, are a secret."

Actors Campaign for London Theatre Museum

Dame Judi Dench, Dame Diana Rigg and Vanessa Redgrave are among the actors calling for London's Victoria And Albert Theatre Museum to remain open. The museum, which houses a collection of stage costumes including Sir Laurence Olivier's outfit from Richard III, is facing closure after failing to raise $20.4 million for redevelopment. In a letter to British newspaper The Times, the actors write: "We are horrified that this important and world-renowned museum could be closed and its collection broken up. We fear this means that most of the exhibits would no longer be available to the public." Redgrave describes the possible closure of the nearly 20-year-old museum as "a catastrophe."
