'Sin City' Sequel Waiting for Jolie

Actress Rosario Dawson has confirmed reports Angelina Jolie will be signing on for the sequel to Sin City and production on the film is on hold while the star is pregnant. Jolie is currently expecting a baby with Brad Pitt, but is eager to co-star with Dawson, who will reprise her part as rogue hooker Gail in the movie. The Mr. And Mrs. Smith star is rumored to be playing the role of "A Dame To Kill For" in the next installment of the film. Dawson says, "The film's kind of been postponed because Robert (Rodriguez, the director) has been interested in Angelina Jolie for the lead. But she's very pregnant right now. So that's putting an understandable hold on the film." The second film will be based on Frank Miller's graphic novel stories "A Dame to Kill For" and "Lost, Lonely and Lethal," according to website, moviehole.net.

Spielberg's Miniseries Prompts Lawsuit

Producers of Steven Spielberg's TV series Into The West are being sued by a Mescalero Apache family in southern New Mexico, who claim a stylist violated tribal customs by cutting an eight-year-old girl's hair. The girl's father Danny Ponce filed the lawsuit against Turner Films and the unnamed stylist at Albuquerque's US District Court on March 6. The papers seek $250,000 for emotional distress and a further $75,000 in damages. Ponce alleges the company cut his daughter's hair to make her look like a boy, because their casting department had failed to find enough young male actors. Mescalero families traditionally grow their daughters' hair so it is waist-length for their sacred Coming of Age ceremony. Ponce says, "It's part of our culture not to cut a girl's hair until her Coming of Age ceremony. The only ones allowed to do that are the parents. Nobody asked for permission. This has to do with the culture of a tribal member. It was cut very short above her ears. She looked like a boy. Just because you're wealthy, you don't do something without checking first."
Spears' Legal Case Decision Delayed
Britney Spears' lawyers have been awarded more time to present evidence in her $20 million libel action against Us Weekly, after the American magazine filed a motion to have the case dismissed. The singer began legal proceedings against Us Weekly in December after an article claimed she feared a sex tape allegedly made with husband Kevin Federline would leak onto the internet. Spears and Federline maintain the story is "bogus," but a spokesperson for the US publication insists the story came from "a credible source" and the magazine "stands by its reporting." The next hearing is scheduled to take place on May 3 in Los Angeles. Spears and Us Magazine first clashed in 2004 after photographs of her honeymoon in Fiji were published against her will.
Jackson Shuts Down Neverland House

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has shut down the house on his Neverland Ranch and dismissed some of the employees on the Californian estate. The Thriller singer, who has lived in Bahrain since his child molestation trial ended last year, is not closing the ranch in its entirety. Jackson's spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain says, "It is public knowledge that Mr. Jackson currently resides in the Middle Eastern country of Bahrain. He therefore decided to close his house and reduce his work force. This is a common practice when a residence is vacant for an extended period of time." Thursday, state officials confirmed Jackson would that day pay his Neverland workers, who demanded $306,000 after complaining they hadn't received a pay packet since December 19. However, acting Labor Commissioner Robert Jones warned this figure could rise, as the singer's payroll records were still being scrutinized. Official figures will be released next week, he claimed.
De Rossi Blames 'Ally McBeal' for Eating Disorder

Actress Portia De Rossi developed anorexia while starring in Ally McBeal, because she used co-star Calista Flockhart and the other thin women on the show as her role models. The actress hit her lowest point in 1999, when she starved herself down to a life-threatening 82 pounds. She reveals in the April issue of Vogue magazine, "I've often wondered if I wasn't on that show if it (anorexia) may not have happened. I didn't really know at that point what it was like to be a celebrity, and the only people I knew at the time who had a similar experience were these women whom I worked with. They became my role models." The actress decided to come clean about her anorexia with the help of her girlfriend, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. She adds, "We've talked a lot about this. I'm not proud of this struggle. (While anorexic) it just seemed like I literally wanted to disappear. And now I would like to reappear."
Lohan Named New Face of Louis Vuitton
Lindsay Lohan is set to replace model Gisele Bundchen as the face of fashion label Louis Vuitton. The label's head designer, Marc Jacobs, has asked her to pose for the Autumn/Winter 2006-07 collection. The Mean Girls star will follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Uma Thurman, who have also represented the company. A source tells American magazine Us Weekly, "She just got asked to be in the ads. She's going to say yes." Lohan is a long-time fan of the company and is "extremely excited" according to the source. The move has raised fashionista eyebrows, as some insiders believe the 19-year-old isn't sophisticated enough to represent the prestigious fashion house. Jacobs has stated that he wants his next ad campaign to be young and "cartoony."
Ratner To Direct 'Wolverine' Film?

Hollywood film-maker Brett Ratner is reportedly close to signing a deal to direct the X-Men spin-off Wolverine, after impressing producers with his work on upcoming second sequel X-Men: The Last Stand. The Rush Hour director is keen for Hugh Jackman to reprise his brooding superhero for the project, and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor Vinnie Jones is also in contention to repeat his forthcoming Juggernaut role. Jones tells MTV, "(Brett) was saying that they'll probably use a lot of the characters. Hopefully (the Wolverine/Juggernaut rivalry) will come into it."
Culkin Forced To Testify at Jackson Trial
Macaulay Culkin insists he was forced to testify at pop star Michael Jackson's child molestation trial last June, in order to defend his image. The Home Alone actor wanted to remain on the sidelines during the proceedings, but was compelled to come forward after prosecutor's cited him as an example of Jackson's alleged abuse. He explains, "I didn't really want to (testify). I wasn't planning on getting involved in the whole thing. It was the prosecution who started bringing up my name and saying 'this person did that to me' and bringing in their witnesses. I'm not going to just sit on the side and let people say those kind of things about me. I had to testify really, they forced me into it." Jackson was cleared of all charges against him.
