Jack Black Elopes
King Kong star Jack Black has eloped with his girlfriend Tanya Haden. The couple first met while they were attending a private performing arts high school in Santa Monica, California, but were not romantically involved. According to the bride's father, jazz bassist Charlie Haden, "They love each other very much. We're thrilled." Haden, like her famous father, is a musician and played cello in the Haden Triplets with her sisters, Rachel and Petra, who are, in fact, triplets. The bride's sister, Petra, recently released the acclaimed a cappella cover album The Who Sell Out. The couple began dating when they bumped into each other last April at a mutual friend's birthday party where, Black's two-man band Tenacious D was performing. Black says of the initial meeting, "Tanya was there. I got really nervous and I talked to her...and it's been great. I'm really crazy about her." The actor reportedly proposed to Haden just after Christmas, presenting her with a $220,000 ring from celebrity jeweler Neil Lane. Prior to his surprise nuptials, Black had been linked with writer and comic Laura Kightlinger since 1997.
Bolton and Sheridan Engaged
Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan and singer Michael Bolton are engaged. The couple dated for several years in the early 1990's and re-kindled their romance last year, after Sheridan split from fiance Nicklas Soderlom. Sheridan showed-off a huge diamond ring on her left hand at a post-Ocar party earlier this month, sparking rumors the couple were tying the knot. A representative for the actress has confirmed that the couple are engaged. Sheridan was previously married to LA Law actor Harry Hamlin. The pair wed in 1991 while she was starring on the TV show Knots Landing and separated the following year. Bolton has three daughters from a previous 15-year marriage to Maureen McGuire. No wedding date has been announced.
Mike Wallace Retires

Veteran 60 Minutes reporter Mike Wallace will stop being a regular correspondent on the legendary TV news show after 38 years on the job. The 87-year-old was careful not to say he's fully retiring and will still appear occasionally on the show. CBS News President Sean McManus referred to him as a "correspondent emeritus" saying, "It is clear an era is coming to a close at television's leading newsmagazine." The reporter has said for years that he would like to cut back on the amount of stories he was working on, but his competitive nature made it difficult for him to stop working. Wallace says, "I've often replied, when asked, 'I'll retire when my toes turn up.' Well, they're just beginning to curl a trifle, which meant that, as I approach my 88th birthday, it's become apparent to me that my eyes and ears, among other appurtenances, aren't what they used to be."
Stern Slams Moonves on Letterman

American shock jock Howard Stern blasted former employer, CBS/Infinity chairman Les Moonves, during an appearance on talk show host David Letterman's show, calling him a "jerk" and a "bully." Stern appeared on Late Show With David Letterman wearing a T-shirt with a glamorous picture of Moonves and his wife, US Big Brother host Julie Chen on the front, and announced "I'm on the 'I Hate Les Moonves Tour.'" The radio host is being sued for $500 million, for allegedly breaching his contract with US broadcasting giant CBS. Moonves insists Stern failed to disclose the details of his new deal with Sirius Satellite Radio, while still working for Infinity. Stern told Letterman, "I believe you are working for one of the biggest jerks on the planet. You've worked for jerks and bullies who hide behind their press agents. Les Moonves is a bully." Referring to Moonves' past acting jobs, Stern quipped, "CBS took a C-list actor from the Love Boat and made him CEO." Stern's appearance on the show, which airs on CBS, was scheduled before the lawsuit was filed against him. CBS has issued as statement regarding Stern's appearance saying, "We believe his appearance was his desperate attempt to distract attention from the facts of the case."
'Dallas' Movie To Star Lopez, Wilson and Travolta?

Director Robert Luketic is reportedly finalizing key cast members for the big screen version of Dallas including, Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, John Travolta and Shirley MacLaine. The classic 1980's TV show chronicled the exploits of wealthy Texas Oil millionaires and their shady business dealings and dysfunctional personal lives. Travolta will star as JR Ewing, Lopez will play Sue Ellen Ewing, Wilson will star as Bobby Ewing, and MacLaine will play Miss Ellie Ewing. Negotiations with the actors are in the final stages and production of the film is likely to commence in October, after Travolta has finished his starring role in the big screen version of the Broadway hit Hairspray.
'Brokeback' Author Slams Oscars
Brokeback Mountain author Annie Proulx has slated the Academy Awards for giving the Best Picture Oscar to Crash at this year's presentation ceremony. In an essay published by British newspaper The Guardian, Proulx describes voters as "out of touch" and "segregated" from current issues, and insists they were easily influenced by Crash's production company Lions Gate Entertainment. She writes, "Roughly 6,000 film industry voters, most in the Los Angeles area, many living cloistered lives behind wrought-iron gates or in deluxe rest homes, out of touch not only with the shifting larger culture and the yeasty ferment that is America these days, but also out of touch with their own segregated city, decide which films are good. And rumor has it that Lions Gate inundated the academy voters with DVD copies of 'Trash' - excuse me, Crash - a few weeks before the ballot deadline. Next year we can look to the awards for controversial themes on the punishment of adulterers with a branding iron in the shape of the letter A, runaway slaves, and the debate over free silver."
Cheadle Asked To Play Davis in Biopic

Oscar-nominee Don Cheadle is in discussions to play Miles Davis in a movie biopic of the jazz great. Davis' nephew Vince Wilburn - who accepted the late trumpeter's award at the 21st Annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in New York last night - is determined to keep his uncle's legacy alive by making the movie, and is just waiting for the perfect script. He said at Monday's star-studded celebration, "We're working with Sony (Pictures) on a biopic. We're gonna negotiate with Don Cheadle whose name keeps coming up to play Miles. It (the film) can touch on many things from the way he changed the wave of music of different decades from bee-bop to hip-hop and in between, and the personal side. First of all we have to get a script and people are submitting them to Sony Pictures but nothing has caught our fancy. We've been talking to Antoine Fuqua who did Training Day to direct."
Greengrass To Helm 'Bourne Ultimatum'

Hollywood movie-maker Paul Greengrass has signed up to direct Matt Damon in The Bourne Ultimatum - the third installment of the action franchise. Speaking at Monday night's Empire Awards in London, the director, who also helmed The Bourne Supremacy after The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman pulled out, insisted The Bourne Ultimatum will be bigger and better than its predecessors in every way. He says, "We've got a script and we're underway. It's a new story, completely different from the novel. It was written by Tony Gilroy and Tom Stoppard. It's going to have all the excitement you'd expect from a Bourne film and all the intensity you'd expect from a Bourne story. I can't wait - it's just going to be f**king fantastic. It's going to rock. That's honestly what it's going to do. What direction? We'll have a better car chase, have more exciting action, more intensity and just generally be a f**king classy film. I think Matt Damon's looking forward to it like I am. It's going to be an absolute laugh."
Jackson Granted Day's Reprieve
Michael Jackson was given an extra 24 hours to pay staff on his closed Neverland Ranch overdue wages amounting to $306,000 and fines of $100,000. The extension means the Thriller hitmaker now has until 5pm today to pay the penalty and outstanding wages, before facing possible court action. State regulators made the threat after shutting down the 2,800-acre estate last Thursday and fining the singer and his ranch operators after discovering his workers' compensation policy lapsed in January. Employees also complained they hadn't received a pay packet since December 19. Renee Bacchini, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Industrial Relations, maintained Jackson was "aware" of the extension. She revealed they had been generous with the deadline after the singer's financial representatives contacted the department. Bacchini said, "They are trying to come up with the money. They're trying to work with us." The singer has been living with his three children in Bahrain since July - one month after he was acquitted of all charges in his child molestation trial.
Turner To Sing 'Casino Royale' Theme?
Tina Turner has reportedly been asked to record the title song for new James Bond movie Casino Royale. The 66-year-old star recorded the theme tune for the 1995 spy adventure GoldenEye, and film bosses are convinced she will give the new rawer Bond - played by Daniel Craig - the required edge. An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "To quote one of Tina Turner's hits, she's 'Simply The Best.' We want Casino Royale to have a huge impact so we want a big theme tune. We know Tina would deliver just that."
