Madonna "Shocked" by Illustrator Attack

Superstar Madonna is "shocked" and "devastated" to learn her children's book illustrator Jeffrey Fulvimari was viciously attacked outside a New York City nightclub. Fulvimari, 43, who created the images for Madonna's debut kids' book The English Roses, is nursing multiple skull fractures and a broken eye socket after he was beaten by three men in a Chelsea, Manhattan, parking lot in the early hours of Sunday morning. Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg tells the New York Daily News, "She was very devastated at the news. It was shocking news. She's very fond of Jeffrey and she will be reaching out to be him."
