Pitt Confirms Relationship and Baby

After a year of speculation, Brad Pitt's publicist has confirmed the actor is dating Angelina Jolie, by releasing a statement from both of them confirming the actress is pregnant. The Hollywood couple have been regularly photographed with Jolie's adopted children Maddox and Zahara over the past year, but both have refused to confirm the nature of their relationship. The couple have always vehemently denied they became romantically involved on the set of Mr. And Mrs. Smith in 2004, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. After weeks of rumors of Jolie's pregnancy, America's People magazine quoted the actress as telling a charity worker in the Dominican Republic, "Yes, I'm pregnant." A statement from Pitt's publicist Cindy Guagenti issued yesterday confirms the actor is set to be a father and refers to him and Jolie as "they" for the first time. Guagenti says, "I can confirm they are expecting. There isn't a lot more to say." Pitt, 42, is currently in the process of legally adopting Jolie's Cambodian son Maddox, four, and Ethiopian daughter Zahara, 10 months and the 30-year-old Girl, Interrupted beauty has petitioned for the tots' surnames to be changed from Jolie to Jolie-Pitt. When asked for Aniston's response to the pregnancy news, a spokesman for the Rumor Has It star says, "Jennifer is not in the practice of commenting on the lives of other people." Meanwhile, Jolie's estranged father, actor Jon Voight says, "Angie is my daughter and I am always wishing the best for her."

Farrell Sex Tape Website Blocked

Colin Farrell is celebrating after a website allowing surfers to view his leaked 15-minute sex tape was shut down Tuesday. The Alexander star's publicist Dancia Smith said website dirtycolin.com had violated a court order blocking the release of the footage - which allegedly shows the movie hunk engaging in sex acts with former Playboy model Nicole Narain during their 2003 romance. On the actor's behalf Smith says, "A website attempting to distribute an unauthorized tape of Colin Farrell was shut down today. Mr. Farrell will take legal action against anyone who tries to distribute this tape." Last year Farrell took Narain to court, accusing her of attempting to distribute the tape. He argued its release would harm his career, and he had never intended it for public consumption. A Superior Court judge issued a temporary restraining order to prevent marketing of the tape in August.

Altman To Be Honored with Top Oscar

Movie mogul Robert Altman is to be honored at the Oscars in March with an Honorary Award. The Gosford Park director will be celebrated for "a career that has repeatedly reinvented the art form and inspired filmmakers and audiences alike." Altman has received five Academy Award nominations as a director and producer but has never taken home the Oscar. Academy President Sid Ganis says, "He is a master filmmaker and well deserves this honor. The board was taken with Altman's innovation, his redefinition of genres, his invention of new ways of using the film medium and his reinvigoration of old ones." The Academy Awards will take place in Hollywood on March 5.

Cruz Honored in France

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz was made a Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier Dans L'Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres) in a ceremony in Paris, France yesterday. The sultry Blow actress, who appeared French film Fanfan La Tulipe three years ago, was honored for her international film career, which includes performances in English, Italian, French and her native Spanish. France's culture minister Renaud Donnedieu De Vabres enthused, "It's France's role to be the ardent defender of cultural diversity and to recognize those who extend, with their talent, the culture of their country. I'm happy to have honored this great European actress." Bashful Cruz, who was joined at the ceremony by her Bandidas co-star Salma Hayek, said, "I'm not sure that I deserve it, but I will do my best so that you won't regret it." Previous Hollywood recipients of the arts honors include Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese and Bruce Willis - who received titles last year.

Roberts Set To Return for Tom Hanks Film

Julia Roberts is set to make her movie comeback in a new film opposite fellow Oscar winner Tom Hanks. The Pretty Woman star took a hiatus when she became a mum in 2004, but now she has been lured back to the big screen by her Closer director Mike Nichols. Roberts is in negotiations to play Texas socialite Joanne Herring in the real-life story of US congressman Charlie Wilson, who fought to fund the Afghan rebels' battle against the Russians. Charlie Wilson's War, based on George Crile's book of the same name, will be Roberts' first movie role since 2004's Ocean's Twelve. The actress is also in negotiations to star in the second sequel of Ocean's Eleven.

'Star Wars', DeGeneres and Garner Triumph at People's Choice Awards

Sci-fi movie Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and Jennifer Garner were all double winners at Tuesday's People's Choice Awards. The final installment of George Lucas' adventure series was named America's favorite movie and favorite movie drama at a star-studded ceremony at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. Alias beauty Jennifer Garner, who gave birth to baby daughter Violet last year, won the Female Action Star and Female TV star awards - while DeGeneres was honored as Favorite Daytime Talk Show Host and Funny Female Star. Johnny Depp was named Favorite Male Movie Star and Sandra Bullock picked up Favorite Female Movie Star, seeing off competition from Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman.

Johansson Regrets Wardrobe Malfunction

Blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson is furious with herself for letting vanity come before fashion sense at last year's Golden Globe awards, after bursting out of her dress. The curvy Lost In Translation star was so eager to have a knockout figure-hugging dress for the red carpet appearance she ignored designer Roland Mouret's advice and demanded the gown be made a little closer-fitting. Johansson recalls, "I kept saying: 'I want it to be tighter!' And he replied: 'I'm telling you, you're not going to be able to sit down.'" And the actress immediately regretted her decision when, on getting into her car, the zip broke open and she was forced to take emergency measures with a needle and thread. She says, "I presented my award and had to go straight home to be cut out of the dress. It was a disaster."

Lachey Moves On After Buying New Home in Ohio

US pop star Nick Lachey is looking to move on from his broken marriage to Jessica Simpson by buying up property in his native Ohio. The former 98 Degrees singer bought a $300,000 Cincinnati house with his father, John, just before Christmas, according to American magazine In Touch. Father and son plan to spend time renovating the home. The new place couldn't come at a better time for Lachey - the Calabasas, California, home he has been living in since Simpson announced split plans, was sold earlier this week to Malcolm In The Middle star Justin Berfield.

Culkin and Kunis Plan Wedding

Home Alone star Macauley Culkin and his longtime girlfriend Mila Kunis are reportedly shopping for an engagement ring after deciding to wed. The couple, who started dating in 2002, were spotted checking out rings at a number of Beverly Hills jewelers on January 4, according to American publication In Touch, and friends claim they're planning to wed this year. A source says, "Mila's looking for a ring that's unique and may even opt for a ruby instead of a diamond." Culkin, 25, was previously married to actress Rachel Miner, but the union lasted just two years. They divorced in 2000.

Jack Black Set To Wed

King Kong star Jack Black is reportedly heading down the aisle after asking his new girlfriend Tanya Haden to marry him. The actor proposed to Haden, an animator, after buying her a $220,000 ring from celebrity jeweler Neil Lane just after Christmas, according to American magazine In Touch. The couple started dating last year after Black split from his longtime comedienne lover Laura Kightlinger.
