As Irish actor Colin Farrell recovers from exhaustion, he's fighting off a fresh set of reports suggesting he was hospitalized after taking an overdose. The Alexander star's publicist announced yesterday he had entered a treatment centre suffering from exhaustion and dependency on prescription medication, which was prescribed to him after he sustained a back injury. But as Farrell takes time out, he's now been hit with reports that he was rushed to an emergency room in Uruguay on Friday after suffering an overdose. A radio station in the South American country reports that traces of marijuana, cocaine and an unidentified substance were found in his blood when he was treated. Farrell's publicist vehemently denies the reports.

The Notebook co-stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have sparked reports they are getting engaged, after being spotted shopping for rings. The couple were romantically linked in June when they re-enacted their passionate kiss from the romantic epic as they picked up Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards. A friend of the couple tells the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper, "Not only does it look like they're living together, but they've been talking to top private jewelers about engagement rings."

The film-maker died on Monday of a heart attack triggered by an asthma attack while we was working out at a Toronto, Canada, gym. Newmyer started his film career as vice president of production and acquisitions at Columbia Pictures, before forming Outlaw Productions in the late 1980s with partner Jeffrey Silver. Silver says, "He liked to move people. He liked to make them laugh, and he liked to make them cry. We formed Outlaw to make film fares that the studio didn't know how to make - lower budget, edgy." Federline Denies Criticizing Spears in Interview

Pop beauty Britney Spears has hit out at reports her husband Kevin Federline has made damning comments about the state of their marriage. Spears and Federline, parents of three-month-old Sean Preston, have recently been at the centre of reports their union is on the rocks. And in the midst of their battles with the tabloids comes a new report by In Touch Weekly in which Federline seemingly criticizes his wife's attitude towards their marriage. He is quoted as saying, "I love her. But ask me now about life apart from Britney, and all I can say is, 'Can it be any worse than living with her?' I am doing what she wanted, getting out of the house and trying to find work, but I do that and she trashes my efforts. She just wants me at her beck and call as a little house husband. Marriage is something you don't go into lightly. She has to learn she can't just pick me up and dump me off, like her first husband." But Spears' spokesperson Leslie Sloane has hit out at the report: "The story is untrue and hurtful and he didn't give them an interview. He and Britney are as normal as other couples, they fight and they make up. They are fine and happy."
Pryor's Widow Plans Huge Benefit
Richard Pryor's widow Jennifer has announced plans to hold a huge benefit memorial for the late comedian next month. The legendary funnyman died of a heart attack on Saturday, nine days after celebrating his 65th birthday, and his wife is planning to give Pryor the send-off he would have wanted, by calling on several comedians to raise laughter in his honor. She says, "We're having private family services this weekend and then mid-January I'm gonna plan a big benefit, big memorial for Richard and just celebrate him. The shock will be over (by then), so people can get up there, all the comics, a lot of people from the entertainment industry, and celebrate him in the way that he would have wanted. (We'll) have some drinks and toast the man in charge."
A Wife-Swapping Double Date on 'Desperate Housewives'
Desperate Housewives stars Doug Savant and Felicity Huffman are set for an interesting double date with their real-life partners on the hit show. Huffman's real-life husband William H. Macy has been hoping for a part on the series for some time and now it looks like he'll be able to face his wife across a dinner table - with her onscreen husband's real wife Laura Leighton sitting next to him. Savant says, " Marc Cherry (show creator/executive producer) wants Felicity and I to go out with another couple and that couple would be Bill Macy and Laura Leighton, my real-life wife. We'll have to wait and see if it happens, but it would be a blast."
James Dean Museum To Close

An Indiana museum chronicling the life of James Dean is set to close on New Year's Eve, due to growing debts. Owner David Loehr had moved the James Dean Gallery to Gas City from Fairmount, where Dean attended high school, less than two years ago. And while attendance has increased, it hasn't been enough to match the cost of maintaining the building. Loehr says, "The operating expenses and upkeep and payments are just more than we can handle. I'm just getting further into debt and I just can't do it anymore." Loehr opened the museum and gift shop in 1988 in a house near downtown Fairmount. After an electrical fire in early 2004, Loehr moved the gallery to the new building. The gallery contains a dozen items of clothing worn by Dean in his films, school papers, paintings by Dean, and original movie posters, books and magazines. They will now be put into storage. The Rebel Without A Cause star was born in Marion in 1931 and was killed in a car crash in Cholame, California, in 1955 aged 24.

Schwarzenegger Shunned in Austria Following Execution

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's refusal to grant former gang leader Stanley 'Tookie' Williams clemency has sparked outrage in his native Austria. On Monday, Schwarzenegger refused to overturn the Crips gang founder's death sentence, and he was executed in the early hours of yesterday morning. And his refusal to spare the life of Williams - who was convicted of killing four people - has sparked harsh criticism from people across Austria. Leaders of the country's opposition Green Party are calling for the Terminator star to be stripped of his Austrian citizenship - a demand rejected by Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel as "absurd" despite his government's opposition to the death penalty. And in Graz, Schwarzenegger's hometown, local Greens are planning to file a petition to remove Schwarzenegger's name from the city's Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium. A Christian political group suggests it be renamed to honour Williams.
