Renee Zellweger has stamped out reports she has agreed to play troubled rocker Janis Joplin, as she is less than convinced she is the right actress for the role. The Cold Mountain beauty is still considering the offer to take the lead in Piece Of My Heart, because she is aware how vital it is to get the casting just right for such a sensitive story. She says, "It's all speculative right now. The movie is in pre-production. It's going to take a long time. If at the end of that time it still feels right time in my life, then we'll see. Joplin was an extraordinary person. There is a need to be careful with the movie, to make sure it does not become a cliche. Because that would be blasphemy. We have to make sure that the people who knew her are not disappointed." Joplin died in 1970 following a heroin overdose.
