Timberlake Accepts Libel Damages
Justin Timberlake has accepted "substantial" libel damages from British newspaper the News Of The World after it published a fabricated story claiming he had sex with model Lucy Clarkson in July last year. Timberlake, who is dating Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz, immediately filed a lawsuit against the paper which concluded in his favor yesterday at London's High Court. Clarkson's representative David Griffiths said, "She accepts that the story, which she sold to the newspaper, was an entire fabrication on her part and that she had not had an affair or fling with the claimant. (She apologizes for the) distress and embarrassment she has caused the claimant and Ms. Diaz." The News Of The World's solicitor, Benjamin Beabey, told the court the newspaper "entirely accepts that the allegations are without foundation". Clarkson has also agreed to compensate Timberlake with the money she earned from the story. The 24-year-old singer plans to donate all the money to charity.
Teenage Actress Reported Missing

Teenage actress Scout Taylor-Compton has been placed on the California police missing persons register list after disappearing on August 12. The Sleepover actress, who also appeared on TV show Gilmore Girls, has been reported missing by worried family members in Apple Valley, California. In a statement released earlier yesterday, the young actress' family has thanked officials searching for her, adding, "We are praying for her safe return. We have faith in the agencies working on the case and are optimistic that the outcome will be positive."
Housekeeper Targeted De Niro's Wife "Because She Was Mean"

The housekeeper charged with stealing items from Robert De Niro's New York home deliberately targeted his wife, actress Grace Hightower, because she was so mean to her. Polish immigrant Lucyna Turyk-Wawrynowicz, 35, has been charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, forgery and coercion following her arrest in June. She is accused of stealing an array of expensive items from her celebrity employees, including a $1,000 suede coat from Murphy Brown star Candice Bergen and a $95,000 pair of diamond earrings from Hightower - which were later found in Turyk-Wawrynowicz's apartment. In her defense, the housekeeper said in police interviews that she would never have stolen from Hightower had she been more polite - adding that she didn't rob Italian actress Isabella Rossellini because she always treated her with respect. She said, "If Mr. De Niro knew how badly she treats her kids, he would leave her. I didn't steal from Isabella Rossellini because she treated me well. I only stole from people who didn't treat me with respect."
Longoria Battles Headaches on 'Housewives' Set
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is battling crippling headaches on the set of the second series after she was knocked unconscious by a metal pole while shooting a scene a week ago. Filming on the hit show is being scheduled around the sexy star as she fights to make a full recovery from the concussion that sent her to hospital. Co-star Teri Hatcher reveals, "I got a call yesterday, saying she still had a headache and they were going to change the production schedule because they were going to go back and check her out again. Then I got a call again that she was actually fine, so she's resting, she's not completely back to her old self, but she's good, they've done all the tests. She just needs to heal a bit more so we're all just letting her do that." Hatcher admits she's doing what she can to keep her ailing pal's spirits up - by showering her with candy treats. She explains, "I sent her a hard hat filled with Milky Ways and Snickers and whatever; she eats so much candy this girl!"
Hatcher Slams "Eating Disorder" Rumors
Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has hit out at rumors she is suffering from an eating disorder, insisting she lives a very healthy lifestyle. The svelte actress has sparked speculation about her health recently after a series of photographs appeared to show the 40-year-old looking slimmer than normal. She fumes, "To think that I would need to stop eating and be anorexic and sick to get a job in the wrong message to send to girls and women in our society and that really bugs me. I am all about health and to me size is not what defines your health. It never crossed my mind that if I thinner, I would get more jobs."
Clooney Still Upset Doctors Didn't Take Him Seriously
George Clooney is still sore at the Los Angeles doctors who insisted the blinding headaches he suffered on the set of Syriana last year were nothing. The movie star jetted back to California from Morocco, convinced that something was wrong when fluid started dripping out of his nose and nothing could shift his painful headaches. But it was only when he went to see a neurologist that he learned of the extent of his problems - a life-threatening breach in his dura, the substance that surrounds the brain and spine. He recalls, "It was like an ice-cream brain freeze 24 hours a day. A lot of the doctors were like, 'You've got a headache. Go home.' I understand what they were thinking: 'Oh, he's an actor. He's being dramatic.'" The actor's conditioned worsened so quickly that he was forced to hobble around at the Ocean's Twelve premiere last December, while he awaited surgery. Neurologists operated on him just three days later and pinned his spine back together with plastic bolts. Clooney is now celebrating his recovery with a Mario Testino photo spread in the upcoming premiere issue of US Men's Vogue.
Pitt Keen To Hook Up With Cruise's Ex PR Guru
Brad Pitt is trying to sign up Tom Cruise's former public relations guru Pat Kingsley as he plans a press onslaught about his romance with Angelina Jolie. The movie star is reportedly keen to tell all about his private life after spending years shying away from personal matters, and he wants Kingsley to help mastermind his upcoming TV appearances and magazine interviews. A source says, "Brad's set to go public about his loving relationship with Angelina, but wants the event handled carefully and executed strategically. He knows Pat's perfect for the job." Cruise mysteriously sacked his longtime PR pal Kingsley last year and put his sister Lee Anne DeVette in charge of his press affairs. Neither the movie star nor Kingsley have spoken about the split.
Newton-John Hires Private Investigator To Find Missing Partner

Singer Olivia Newton-John has reportedly hired a private investigator to track down her missing partner Patrick McDermott, who went missing two months ago. The American cameraman vanished during an overnight fishing expedition off California's San Pedro coastline between June 30 and July 1. Although the boat and all its crew returned to land, all that remained of McDermott was his personal possessions, including a fishing rod. However, the news only hit the media over the weekend, with Newton-John releasing a statement appealing for anyone with information to come forward to authorities. The Australian newspaper in Newton-John's home country claims the Grease star has hired investigator Gavin DeBecker to assist in the search for McDermott.
'Law & Order' Stars Warned Over Police Costumes

Actors on hit US crimes shows Law & Order and CSI: NY will face arrest if they are spotted carrying police costumes to and from work. The change in the city's laws became apparent when two actors were taken into police custody and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has called for an official statement to prevent further misunderstandings. SAG spokesman Seth Oster said, "It has become increasingly clear that the city has revised its existing policy that allowed professional actors to purchase and carry police costumes to production jobs. We have asked the Mayor Michael Bloomberg administration to promptly communicate its new policy so that actors will not be penalized for going to work carrying a tool of their trade in the belief that their actions remain lawful."
Johansson and Hartnett Moving In Together?
Scarlett Johansson and her beau Josh Hartnett are reportedly planning to set up home together in New York City. According to friends of the couple, who met while filming their upcoming thriller The Black Dahlia earlier this year, the lovebirds have decided it's time to make a commitment by sharing an abode. A source tells Star magazine, "They're discussing moving in together in NYC. I know that they have already started looking at places to buy in SoHo and the West Village." While Johansson's spokesperson denies the move, the friend insists that neither Hartnett or Johansson wants to be based in Los Angeles. Unless he's working, Hartnett spends his time in Minnesota, while native New Yorker Johansson prefers living in her hometown, which she feels is more private than Los Angeles.
