Madonna Recovering at Home
Pop superstar Madonna
is recovering at home after breaking several bones in a horse riding accident on her country estate on Tuesday. The singer suffered a broken hand, a broken collar bone and three cracked ribs after falling from a horse she had never ridden before, in the grounds of her Ashcombe House estate on England's Wiltshire-Devon border. Madonna - who has only been riding for a few months - was celebrating her 47th birthday with husband Guy Ritchie
and children Lourdes and Rocco when the incident happened. After being discharged from hospital in Salisbury late on Tuesday evening, the Kabbalah devotee is now recuperating at home. The accident is anticipated to delay her forthcoming dance album Confessions On A Dancefloor
- which was due to be released in November. Her US spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg
confirms, "She's walking and talking. I don't know if she's going to be hanging from a disco ball anytime soon."
Law and Miller Spotted in Public
and Sienna Miller
have been seen in public together for the first time since the Cold Mountain
actor confessing to having an affair with his children's nanny last month. The couple, who have been meeting in private in a bid to salvage their engagement, took a walk across London's Hampstead Heath yesterday in a public show of unity. A friend of Miller's tells British newspaper The Sun
, "Sienna hasn't totally forgiven Jude but she is doing her best to work things out with him. She really loves him and is devastated by his betrayal. He has been doing everything in his power to convince her he made a stupid mistake and it won't happen again."
Garner Slams Press for Leaking Pregnancy
star Jennifer Garner
is furious with the media for announcing her pregnancy - because she wanted to be the first to tell her friends the good news. The brunette actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Ben Affleck
this winter, admits that while she's thrilled with the news, she's annoyed her pals had to hear it from strangers. She tells In Style
magazine, "It's so personal for me... The news of my pregnancy got out when I was in the middle of my first trimester. I hadn't even had a chance to tell my friends." As a result of the press leak, Garner, 33, says she's grown "hyper-protective" and that she's "uncomfortable with people reading too much" about her romance or pregnancy. She adds of her and Affleck's low-key June 29 wedding, "We were able to have a beautiful, private wedding, and I couldn't be happier... (The ceremony was) too sweet to read about or dissect or talk about."
Pitt and Aniston "Hire Private Divorce Judge"
and Jennifer Aniston
have reportedly hired a private divorce judge to preside over the termination of their marriage, because they want to keep the causes of their split a closely guarded secret. The clandestine nature of the former golden couple's approach to their divorce has further fueled media speculation that Pitt's growing affection for Angelina Jolie
caused the collapse of their marriage. However, Aniston did not mention a third party or infidelity on Pitt's part when she filed for divorce early this year. They will negotiate their split in front of temporary judge Jill Robbins in their lawyers' offices thanks to concessions which only exist in California - and will be spared having the details of their split printed in public court papers. Celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder says, "This is a rent-a-judge situation. It's something that can only be done in the state of California."

Thompson's Star-Studded Funeral Celebration
Hunter S. Thompson
's widow is holding a massive star-studded party instead of a wake for the writer's funeral this Saturday - to honor his final wish. The lavish bash, which will be attended by 250 guests including actors Sean Penn
and Johnny Depp
, will include readings from Thompson's work and live musical performances. The unusual ceremony will also see the cremated remains of the Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas
author, who was a huge fan of explosives, being shot into the air over his Woody Creek, Colorado home. Hollywood star Depp - who portrayed Thompson in the 1998 movie version of the bestseller - is financing the send off, and has been busy constructing a special cannon so he can blast his late pal Hunter S. Thompson's ashes into the sky. According to the New York Post
, the memorial platform/cannon will be unveiled on Sunday and has been modeled on Thompson's Gonzo logo: a clenched fist, made symmetrical with the addition of a second thumb, perched above a dagger. Thompson's widow Anita insists the upbeat celebration is perfect for the unconventional star. She says "No crying, no tears, only celebration. He wanted people to celebrate. He envisioned it to be a beautiful party. The most amazing people would be there. His friends would celebrate his life. And he was even specific that there would be clinking of ice and whisky."

, who wants to employ her as a headliner at his trendy Palms Resort And Casino. Troubled Michael Jackson
escaped arrest yesterday by sending an attorney to represent him at a hearing for his latest sexual assault lawsuit. The singer has failed to attend or send a lawyer to two court summonses regarding the case and Us District Judge Eldon Fallon has hit Jackson with a $10,000 fine. Charles Gay, Jackson's lawyer, argued an administration misunderstanding had prevented Jackson from attending the hearings and apologized on his behalf. But Fallon insisted he would have ordered Jackson's arrest had he not ordered Gay to attend today's hearing. The plaintiff is seeking unspecified damages and alleges he was held against his will for several days and sexually assaulted by the Thriller
star in 1984, aged just 18. Fallon has scheduled a trial date on September 7. Gay warned that the defense would be ferocious - on a par with Jackson's sophisticated representation during his child molestation trial in June where he was found not guilty on all 10 counts.
