Jolie Adopts Ethiopian Baby
Angelina Jolie has agreed to adopt an Ethiopian baby girl orphaned by AIDS. The Girl, Interrupted beauty will complete the formalities of the adoption yesterday and will name her new daughter Zahara Marley, reports US magazine People. Jolie, who spends much of her time touring the work as a goodwill ambition for the United Nations, is unwilling to reveal more details but she says she and her adopted Cambodian son Maddox, three, are "very happy to have a new addition to our family". But the 30-year-old wants to make it clear she remains a single mother, despite constant rumors of romance with her Mr. And Mrs. Smith co-star Brad Pitt. A friend tells People magazine, "Angie's over the moon. It's a dream come true. She's always wanted to extend her family. Angelina's adopting as a single mother and she wants that emphasized." Twice-divorced Jolie has made no secret of her desire to extend her family and following a tour of Ethiopia earlier this year, she said of her son, "He is in love with Africa, so he has been asking for an African brother or sister."
Spielberg Receives Patron of Culture Award

Director Steven Spielberg has been awarded the illustrious Patron of Culture for 2004 honor by the city of Krakow, Poland - for saving the livelihood of a celebrated pharmacy owner who risked his life to protect Jews throughout the Nazi occupation. The Jewish film-maker made celebrated movie Schindler's List about Polish Jews during World War II, and was a long-term admirer of Pod Orlem pharmacy owner Tadeusz Pankiewicz, who gave food and medicine to the Jewish population and helped some residents escape during the war. And Spielberg was horrified to learn the pharmacy - which was converted into a museum in 1983 - was risking closure, so donated a staggering $40,000 to preserve it. The city's residents are so grateful for Spielberg's support, they presented him with the prestigious gong at a ceremony on Tuesday night . Krakow spokesman Filip Szatanik says, "We are trying now to revitalize old Jewish districts in Krakow where people lived before the war. This support from Mr. Spielberg will help us to do this better."
Holmes Not Ready To Wed "Right Now"

Actress Katie Holmes is not ready to marry "right now", despite her recent engagement to new love Tom Cruise. The former Dawson's Creek star and the Hollywood hunk began dating in April, and after a whirlwind romance and many public displays of affection, Cruise popped the question in Paris, France last month. However, at only 26 years old, Holmes wants to enjoy her engagement before becoming the third Mrs. Cruise. Holmes says, "Everybody in LA says they never want to get married, well I don't want to get married right now, but I do want to grow old with somebody." When Cruise and Holmes do decided to get married, she will be stepmother to Isabella, 12 and Connor, 10 - Cruise's children from his 10-year marriage to Nicole Kidman.
Dafoe Weds in Secret

Actor Willem Dafoe married Italian actress and director Giada Colagrande in a secret ceremony in New York six weeks ago. The pair sneaked into the ceremony at Manhattan's City Hall, where they were joined by just close friends and family - according to the New York Daily News. Dafoe, who turns 50 this month and 29-year-old Colagrande co-wrote and will star together in forthcoming romantic drama Before It Had A Name. Dafoe has a son Jack, 23, from his 27-year relationship with theatre director Elizabeth LeCompte, which ended last year.
Tarantino Woos Federline's Ex

Maverick director Quentin Tarantino has reportedly embarked on a romance, with the ex lover of Britney Spears' husband Kevin Federline - Shar Jackson. The pair were seen in Las Vegas, Nevada, together last weekend acting like a couple. Onlookers at eaterie Nobu tell Us Weekly magazine they "held hands like a couple" and were "very touchy". A spokesperson for Jackson insists they are just friends celebrating her mother's birthday. Jackson was jilted by Federline - the father of her two youngest children Kaleb and Kori - when he began dating pop princess Spears in April 2004, who is now expecting her first child with him.
Lil' Kim Gets Prison Sentence for Lying About Shoot-Out
Rapper Lil' Kim has been sentenced to serve a year and a day in prison for lying to a federal grand jury about those responsible for a 2001 shooting outside a Manhattan, New York radio station. The rap star, real name Kimberly Jones, was convicted of three counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy in March. She has also been ordered to pay a $50,000 fine and will face a further three years on probation, once her jail time is served. The rapper told the grand jury she did not notice two of her close friends at the scene of the shoot-out between rival gangs, but her manager Damion Butler and Gutta Jackson have since pleaded guilty to gun charges. And Butler was seen opening a door for the rapper in security photographs provided by the radio station, WQHT-FM. The shoot-out is believed to have started when Lil' Kim's entourage came face to face with rival rappers Capone-n-Noreaga, who were involved in chart hit, "Bang, Bang," which criticized Lil' Kim. The rapper clutched a Bible and wept as the terms of her conviction were read by Judge Gerard Lynch in court yesterday. Lynch attacked her for being dishonest, stating that her lies were an insult to him. Sobbing Jones said, "It was wrong, and this is the worst thing I've ever been through."
Knoxville in Trouble Over Simpson Rumors
Johnny Knoxville's wife is furious about rumors the actor had an affair with his Dukes Of Hazzard co-star Jessica Simpson. The former Jackass funnyman was reported to have romanced the reality TV beauty on the set of the movie remake - despite the fact he's married to Melanie Clapp and Simpson's married to former boyband star, Nick Lachey. And Knoxville - real name Phillip Clapp - admits the tales have had an affect on his marriage. He tells the New York Daily News, "I guess I'd have to say she's standing over me right now. No knife. But she does wield a mean pepper spray."
Geldof Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
Campaigning rocker Sir Bob Geldof has been nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless campaigning to save the African continent. The former Boomtown Rat, 53, has devoted most of the past 20 years to raising awareness of poverty in Africa, which included arranging the Band Aid fundraising single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and the Live Aid concert in 1985. On Saturday, Geldof celebrated the success of his Live 8 concerts in 10 cities across the world, which aimed to put pressure on the G8 leaders to make trade fair and eradicate poverty as they meet in Scotland yesterday. Norwegian member of parliament Jan Simonsen nominated Geldof because he "took the initiative in July 2005 to arrange a string of rock concerts to focus on the problems of poor nations, and pressure the world's leading politicians to take actions in fighting poverty." The Peace Prize is awarded every year by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Gruffudd Fears He'll Jinx Bond Role If He Talks About It

Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd is so determined to land the role of James Bond he's refusing to talk about the possibility for fear of jinxing his 007 dream. The Horatio Hornblower star was outed as the favorite to land the part at a press conference yesterday by Fantastic Four co-star Julian McMahon, who was among the names mentioned for the role. When Aussie McMahon was quizzed about the role, he stunned journalists by turning to Gruffudd and stating, "I think Ioan is playing Bond." But the Welsh actor would not be drawn into a conversation about the part: "I don't want to jinx it."
Olsen and Leto Dating?

Teen star Ashley Olsen is reportedly dating eligible Hollywood bachelor Jared Leto. The pair have been spotted together in New York - where Olsen is a student at New York University. A source tells magazine Us Weekly, the 19-year-old TV and movie star is "like a giddy schoolgirl who has a new man". Olsen recently split from restaurant owner Scott Sartiano. After splitting from long-term love Cameron Diaz in 2003, Leto has been linked with a number of women including Scarlett Johansson.
