Cruise: "I Believe in Aliens"

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise believes in aliens - claiming it would be arrogant to think we, as humans, were alone in this universe. The movie star is currently promoting his new film War Of The Worlds, which sees him on the run from extra-terrestrials who cause havoc on earth. In a interview with German newspaper Bild, Cruise says, "Yes, of course (I believe in aliens). Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe? Millions of stars, and we're supposed to be the only living creatures? No, there are many things out there, we just don't know." Cruise is a long-time follower of the controversial Church of Scientology and is believed to be converting his fiancee Katie Holmes to the religion.

Sizemore Ordered To Take Three-Day Drug Tests

Black Hawk Down star Tom Sizemore has been ordered to undergo a drug test every three days while authorities consider evidence he violated his parole arrangements. The actor was scheduled to return to court in Los Angeles on July 12, but was told by Superior Court Judge Paula Mabrey Tuesday he must take regular drug tests between now and then. Sizemore's ongoing trial stems from a drug conviction last autumn and the actor hit the headlines earlier this year when he was accused of doctoring a urine sample with a prosthetic penis device. The Saving Private Ryan star, 43, has denied faking the urine test with a 'Whizzinator,' and told fans and journalists outside the court he welcomed the drug test ruling.

DiCaprio To Move On from Scorsese

Hollywood heart-throb Leonardo DiCaprio is set to try out a new director after working with legendary film-maker Martin Scorsese on three successive movies. The Titanic star has signed up to star in The Blood Diamond, which will be directed by Ed Zwick, when work finishes on upcoming Scorsese movie The Departed, reports Empire Online. DiCaprio previously starred in Gangs Of New York and The Aviator under the Raging Bull director. DiCaprio will play a diamond smuggler who specializes in selling "blood diamonds" to help finance civil wars and terrorism in Africa, when filming gets underway next year.

Foxx Phones In His Acceptance Speech

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx phoned in his acceptance speech at the BET Awards in Hollywood Tuesday night. The movie star claimed the Best Actor honor at the prize-giving, but was filming abroad and couldn't make the event. Instead, he teamed up with Collateral co-star Tom Cruise to wow the crowds with a carefully-planned phone skit. Cruise, who announced the award, pretended to call Foxx on his cellphone and got hold of the funnyman-turned-actor's answering machine, which transmitted a message thanking BET voters, Cruise and his management.

Kilmer Genuinely Ailing

Val Kilmer has hit out at claims he missed a performance of his West End play because he had been over-indulging at the Wimbledon tennis championships, claiming he was genuinely ill with gastroentiritis. Expectant fans at London's Playhouse Theatre were disappointed on Friday after being told Kilmer would be replaced by an understudy for the evening's performance of The Postman Always Rings Twice, because of an "indisposition". They were then angered by reports he had been entertained all day at the south London sporting event. But Kilmer insists he was kept off stage by the painful stomach virus. A source reveals, "He wanted to go to Wimbledon and perform afterwards, but the doctor wouldn't let him."

Producer Sues Over 'Chicago' Profits

Chicago producer Martin Richards is suing Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein, Miramax and Disney over unpaid profits from the 2002 hit musical. Richards claims he is owed a $25 million share of the movie's profits - but has been snubbed by Miramax moguls the Weinsteins who claim the movie made a loss. After waiting to give them the chance to resolve a dispute with Miramax's parent company, Richards has had enough and hired a lawyer to battle it out in court. He tells PageSix.com, "I waited long enough. I kept waiting until he got through his headaches with Disney. But Harvey got $100 million personally from Disney, and he owes me $25 million. I've been threatening. Now I'm doing. I'm suing the s**t out of him. His people said Chicago is $10 million in the red. I guess if I wait ten more years it'll be more like $36 million in the red. Not easy since the DVD income alone was $100 million, and the movie made almost $400 million, and he's still telling me it lost money? I'm going to demand a jury trial."

Jackson "In Paris" To Plan Resurrection

Troubled superstar Michael Jackson has reportedly left his Californian home to visit film-makers in Paris, with the hope of resurrecting his career. The singer has barely left the state of California since he was arrested on a child molestation charges in late 2003. He was found not guilty of all charges earlier this month. British newspaper Daily Express reports Jackson left his Neverland Ranch over 10 days ago for France, with the hope of discussing an image-repairing documentary with several directors and producers. The paper claims Jackson has met with documentary-maker Mark Stewart - the son of racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart. A source says, "They bumped into each other purely by chance. Michael has made no secret of his plans to rebuild his career and repair his image with a documentary. Mark was astounded to learn that Michael was aware of his work and had seen one of the films. The impromptu meeting went very well and it is hoped that something positive will come of it."

Nick Carter Sentenced for Drunk Driving

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has been ordered into a three-month alcohol treatment program after pleading guilty to drunk driving. The 25-year-old pop star was also ordered to pay $1,200 in fines in a Orange County, California courthouse Tuesday. He was also placed on three-year probation. Carter, who wasn't in court, was pulled over in March and charged with driving under the influence. The singer insisted he was on prescription medication at the time "and was unaware of its interaction possibilities".

Spears' Luxurious Labor

Pregnant pop star Britney Spears is planning to a luxurious labor when she gives birth to her first child in three months time. The singer has reserved a plush room in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as all adjacent rooms to ensure her moans and groans cannot be heard by nosy passers-by. A source tells Star magazine, "Britney wants white and yellow roses in the room when she gets there. Britney wants all the nurses serving her to be given background checks."

'Witch' Star Melissa Is Pregnant

The actress who played Sabrina The Teenage Witch on TV has some magic news - she's going to be a mum. Melissa Joan Hart, 29, has confirmed she's pregnant with husband Mark Wilkerson's baby. The child, due in January, will be the couple's first. The actress' mother tells America's People magazine, "Melissa is feeling great. So far, so good."
