Cruise and Holmes Show Off Love in Public

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have shown off their new romance, appearing hand-in-hand on the streets of Rome, Italy. News of the couple's relationship was unveiled by Minority Report star Cruise's sister and publicist Lee Anne Devette, following numerous sightings of the actor wining and dining the Dawson's Creek beauty - and now the loved-up duo have been photographed holding hands in public. Cruise and Holmes, who are separated by 16 years, are currently enjoying a romantic getaway in Italy, where the actor is scheduled to receive a national award for his contribution to cinema today. Holmes announced her split from fiance Chris Klein in February and was romantically linked to Josh Hartnett, while Cruise split amicably with Spanish lover Penelope Cruz last year and had reportedly been dating Latina model Sofia Vergara.

Pitt's Africa Charity Trip

Movie star Brad Pitt visited Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie in Africa during a charity trip to the poverty-ravished continent. The actor was photographed on the beach in Monbassa, Kenya with Jolie and her adopted son Maddox - fuelling rumors the pair a romantically attached. But it seems Pitt has a more legitimate reason for his trip. The Ocean's Twelve star stopped off in Kenya ahead of a tour of Ethiopia, where he visited new projects that offer treatment and care for the victims of AIDS. The actor has now moved on to South Africa.

Rowe Ignored Scripted Pro-Jackson Questions

Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe has revealed she ignored a script when she appeared in a 2003 image-improvement video because she wanted her answers to questions about her former husband to be honest and clear. Rowe took to the stand in court in Santa Maria, California, again yesterday morning, after spending 45 minutes there at the end of Wednesday's hearing. And, after the defense team moved to have her testimony struck from the record - a motion that was denied - she continued to pour praise on her ex, insisting that she wanted to be closer to him and their two children. Tearful Rowe even glared at Jackson at one point as she told the court she still considers herself a friend of the King of Pop, and said, "If he'd just talk to me." Rowe then admitted she had been given a list of 105 scripted questions to help her prepare for her part in the 2003 rebuttal video, which was released to combat claims made by British journalist Martin Bashir in his damning documentary Living With Michael Jackson, but she didn't read them. She added that Jackson's associate Marc Schaffel did ask her to rephrase an answer but she insisted she would only do it as long as it didn't change the meaning of her answer. Rowe told the court she was excited to do the interview because she was expecting to see her children and Jackson again. Jackson cut all ties to Rowe when they divorced in 1999. The prosecution called Rowe as a witness, hoping her testimony would prove the pop star conspired to hold his child molestation accuser's family hostage while they filmed a scripted segment for his image-improving video. Court experts claim Rowe's testimony may have wrecked the prosecution's conspiracy and kidnapping case.

Bloom Fails To Pay Restaurant Bill

Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has been accused of failing to settle a $760 restaurant bill, after promising to pay up in January. The Lord Of The Rings heart-throb treated his film star girlfriend Kate Bosworth to a gourmet meal at the Casaro Amarelo eaterie in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - where they'd visited to celebrate her 22nd birthday - but was left red-faced after his credit card was refused. And the restaurant's owner Fe Behling admits she's still awaiting payment from Bloom - even though she's satisfied it's merely an oversight on the actor's part. She says, "Yes, it's true. Orlando was here with Kate and about 30 people in January. There was a problem with our credit card system that night. It wasn't his fault - he did his best to pay the bill at the time. He told us he didn't have a personal email account and so took our address. And although we're sure it's a complete misunderstanding and know he's very busy, we've yet to hear from him."

Cruz Regrets Getting Too Close to Salma

Penelope Cruz regrets grabbing pal Salma Hayek's backside during a recent photo shoot, because it sparked stories the friends were actually lesbians. The Spanish star insists she was sick with the flu and a little delirious when she let her hand linger on Hayek's butt at a press conference for their new film Bandidas. She says, "I grabbed Salma's a** just to keep things moving, because everyone was a little slow. And, of course, the energy changed when I did that. There are magazine covers in Mexico describing us as these lesbians because of that. A lot of people were saying we were lovers."

Caan Upset About Divorce News

Movie tough guy James Caan is furious with press reports announcing his divorce earlier this month, because they broke before he had spoken to his children about the break-up. Caan cited "irresponsible differences" when he filed for divorce, but had no idea the news of his split from fourth wife Linda would hit the headlines so quickly. He says, "I didn't have a chance to talk to my kids, which I had planned to do." But The Godfather star insists he's determined to stay friends with his soon-to-be ex. He adds, "I think we'll be much better friends than we were man and wife."

Abdul Silences 'American Idol' Drug Reports

Paula Abdul is hurt by accusations she's spent her latest spell as a judge on TV talent show American Idol high on drugs. The singer - who recently spoke out about the crippling pain that ruined her pop career and turned her into a hobbling recluse - has become the subject of speculation over her behind-the-scenes activity on the hit series, after appearing to be intoxicated on the judges' bench alongside Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. She says, "Drugs? I'm not on anything now and people accuse me of being on drugs. If only people knew what I've gone through with pain and pills. I started to read the show's message boards and saw one of them had to do with me seeming weird. One said I was on drugs. It was so hideous and mean."

Fawcett Begs Smith To Love Her Again

Actress Farrah Fawcett is eager to get on Anna Nicole Smith's good side again, after a brief war of words. Fawcett labeled Smith's self-titled reality show a "train wreck" in the first episode of her new unscripted series Chasing Farrah. And the former Charlie's Angels star's comments proved to be highly offensive to busty heiress Smith, who recently stated in her weekly column for US tabloid the National Enquirer, "Train wreck? Have you seen a mirror lately? Looks like your train wreck came 15 years ago. What did you do anyway, hit your nose on the train? Because it sure needs to be straightened out. It's a shame you had to talk about me because I really loved you." But Fawcett is keen to squash the battle, explaining, "This is so sad. When they were pitching the show to me I said the shows that I did not want to do. I wouldn't even be capable of doing one like Anna Nicole. I mean, I think she's very brave, very gutsy. I'm not Anna Nicole, I couldn't do that. She got mad and wrote something very bad and then at the end she said, 'It's too bad because I really loved you.' So I feel badly. It wasn't directed at her."

Lohan's Paranoid Money Move

Lindsay Lohan has taken the drastic measure of marking her money after discovering a close friend had been stealing her cash. The sexy actress-turned-singer is struggling with trust issues after a secret she confided in a pal was splashed across a newspaper days later. She tells Pagesix.Com, "I've been marking my money lately because I had a friend who was stealing from me. I recently ended a close friendship because of stuff that was getting out. Sometimes, I'll tell people in my life something completely out of this world - that could never be true - and then I'll see it in the tabloids. That's how you find out who you can trust." Earlier this month, Lohan's Los Angeles house was raided while she was in New York. The thief took $10,000 worth of electronics.

Richards Sells Up

Former James Bond babe Denise Richards has put the home she shared with estranged husband Charlie Sheen on the market in a bid to move on with her life as she prepares for a divorce battle from the actor. Pregnant Richards has been living in the Encino, California home with her daughter Sam and her mother since filing for divorce from Sheen last month, according to US news show Extra. The home has a bad history of celebrity break-ups - Richards and Sheen bought the house from Kirstie Alley following the break-up of her marriage to Parker Stevenson.
