Potential Paris Theft Charges Dismissed

Theft charges against Paris Hilton have been dropped after the Los Angeles District Attorney's office decided it was not "in the interest of justice" to prosecute the hotel heiress for stealing one of her own sex tapes. Authorities in Los Angeles were readying themselves for a court battle with Hilton after witnessing the Simple Life star swipe a One Night In Paris DVD she spotted for sale at a newsstand. But there will be no charges brought against Hilton, who also allegedly ripped down a poster promoting the sex tape. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office recommended that Paris be charged with petty vandalism and misdemeanor theft.

Jackson's Confidentiality Agreement Unsealed

The confidential settlement Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe signed to end her marriage to the pop superstar is set to go public as the former dermatologist's assistant fights for custody of her kids. Jackson's custody lawyer Thomas Hall has been battling to seal the confidentiality agreement signed by the former couple, but late yesterday he abruptly dropped his motion, according to US court show Celebrity Justice. The show's reporters immediately obtained court documents in Rowe's custody fight for her daughter Paris, six, and son Prince Michael, eight. And they've discovered details of the confidentiality agreement in amongst the custody battle. According to the documents, Rowe can't volunteer comments on Jackson's personal life - the confidentiality agreement prohibits Rowe from talking publicly about Jackson's purported drug use and sexual behavior among other things. If she does, she'd lose her sizeable annual payments from the superstar. Meanwhile, Rowe has been subpoenaed to appear at Jackson's child molestation trial and legal experts feel sure she'll be compelled to testify.

Gandolfini's Girl Confirms Split Rumors

James Gandolfini's lover Lora Somoza has confirmed she has called off the couple's engagement and left the actor's New York home to care for her sick grandmother. The couple mysteriously postponed their planned wedding last summer, and now the romance is over as Somoza, a movie production assistant, concentrates her efforts on playing nurse to her gran, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. She tells American tabloid National Enquirer, "Jim is a great guy, but we are no longer together. I have moved to California so I can be closer to my grandmother. I will always remain friends with Jim. Right now, there are other things in my life that I have to deal with. Jim and I realized we were living different lives. There was no vicious bust-up. Of course there were tears, but we are still friends." The couple started dating in 2000 after The Sopranos star split from his wife Marcy. They were engaged early last year.

Moore Digs at Gibson

Oscar-winner Michael Moore has taken a veiled swipe at Mel Gibson's controversial movie The Passion Of The Christ - his revenge after Gibson refused to back Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore was disappointed when the Australian heart-throb actor pulled out his financial backing of his expose of George W. Bush's regime and his reaction to the September 11 terrorist attacks. The Braveheart star then refused to join Moore for a joint discussion with Time Magazine's editors, who were considering them for a joint Man Of The Year award last year. On the subject of Gibson's biblical opus, Moore tells Vanity Fair, "If I were to make a movie, it would be about turning the other cheek... And the meek shall inherit the earth." Moore added he was disturbed at, "How easily the vulnerable can be manipulated, twisted by images on the screen."

Aniston Turns to Girlfriends

Jennifer Aniston is drawing strength from her girlfriends to get over her split from husband Brad Pitt. The Friends actress is still heart-broken by the collapse of her high profile marriage to the Troy hunk last month, but she is determined to move on with her life by concentrating on her career. The 35-year-old says, "There are times when you look in the mirror and go, 'OK, we're having a good day.' You go through those moments of hating things about yourself and not having any positive reinforcement. You know when I feel inwardly beautiful? When I am with my girlfriends and we are having a 'goddess circle'. The most beautiful I have ever felt is when I am surrounded by a group of women and we are having some wonder ful evening together and are celebrating women. No men allowed!"

Nemcova Discharged

Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova has been discharged from a Prague hospital, five weeks after being injured when the Indian Ocean tsunami struck Thailand. The 25-year-old Czech catwalk queen broke her pelvis and suffered internal injuries when the killer waves struck south east Asia on December 26. Nemcova survived by clinging onto a tree for eight hours, but her photographer boyfriend Simon Atlee - who was holidaying with her at the resort of Phuket - is missing presumed dead. After spending two weeks in a Thai hospital, Nemcova was flown back to the Czech capital last month - and has since made a rapid recovery. She has left hospital and is recuperating in a mountain chalet owned by her grandfather in her home town of Karvina. The model's father Oldrich says, "Her health is getting better and better. She can already climb stairs by herself, although she still can't lean on her left foot."

Day-Lewis To Be Honored in Berlin

Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis will receive a special award at this month's Berlin Film Festival to honor his contribution to cinema. The My Left Foot star will be presented with the Berlinale Camera - an award given to individuals the festival's organizers feel "particularly indebted to". Day-Lewis will be praised for the "sensational start" to his career with acclaimed performances in My Beautiful Laundrette and A Room With A View, and a "great number of celebrated roles" in later productions. The 47-year-old has previously been nominated for awards at the Berlin Film Festival for his part in four movies: In The Name Of The Father; The Crucible, The Boxer and Gangs Of New York.

Disney Builds Animation Unit

Walt Disney has made secret plans to build its own animation studio following the split from Pixar Animation. The movie-making partnership ended last year after the two giants failed to agree terms for the continuation of their marketing and distribution agreement. Disney is planning to christen the new animation unit with Toy Story 3 - penciled in for a 2008 release. However Pixar - responsible some of the most successful animation hits of all time, including both Toy Story films, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc. and recent blockbuster The Incredibles - is still angered Disney retains the sole rights to make the sequels to all joint-venture films. The critically acclaimed animation company is expected to sign a new distribution deal with either Warner Bros or Twentieth Century Fox later this year. Cars - due to hit cinemas in June - is the last film to be released under their Disney-Pixar partnership.

Trump Wedding Memorabilia on eBay

Newlyweds Donald Trump and Melania Knauss' stolen wedding memorabilia is selling for hundreds of dollars on eBay.Com. The property tycoon exchanged nuptials with the Slovenian model at an extravagant ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, last month - and now missing items from the extravagant wedding have mysteriously appeared on the internet auction site. According to gossip website Pagesix.Com, bids of over $100 were received on Tuesday night for an official Trump/Knauss wedding invitation, and a menu drew bids of $75. Two stolen wedding plates with "the official Trump logo and 24-karat gold seal" also attracted bids of over $100.

Giamatti Plans Dream Project

Hollywood actor Paul Giamatti's ultimate life ambition is to appear in a "crime caper" with actors Robert Duvall and John Hurt. The 37-year-old star has vowed to contact the actors with his dream project proposal should his movie Sideways win the Best Picture award at this month's Oscars. Giamatti says, "I've always admired Robert Duvall, so I'd get on the phone to him. Although what he'd want to do with me I do not know. And John Hurt - he's a great actor. So maybe all three of us get hooked up in some sort of crime caper. That sounds OK."
