Language Problems on 'Geisha' Set
Chicago director Rob Marshall is finding filming on his latest movie Memoirs of a Geisha complicated, because his cast all speak different languages. Sony Studios refused to cast non-Asian actresses in the big screen adaptation of Arthur Golden's best-selling book about the life of a Japanese geisha, and boasts Chinese Ziyi Zhang and Li Gong, Malaysian Michelle Yeoh and Japanese Cary-hiroyuki Tagawa and Ken Watanabe amongst its stars. An insider on the Japanese set tells American gossip site Pagesix.com, "They hired a 'Pan-Asian' cast. So now they have Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian actors and they have had to hire a load of interpreters, especially since there are like 15 Chinese dialects. It is costing a lot of time to do anything." Producer Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick adds, "We have a Chinese and Japanese interpreter. The movie may or may not be a day over schedule, but we are brilliantly on time for an epic and on budget."
Plane Problem for Cruz & Hayek
Best pals Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek faced a terrifying plane trip on their way to the set of new movie Bandidas, when the craft dropped from the sky. The sexy Latinas were onboard when the small craft ran out of fuel and lost altitude - but it managed to land safely. Cruz admits she did think it was the end: "We nearly died together. I thought, 'If I go now, I go with my good friend.'"
Biggs Looking for Love Online?
American Pie star Jason Biggs is having such a tough time finding love, he's now reportedly signed up to an internet dating site in search of romance. Pals of the 26-year-old actor say he has joined website Match.com after being single for two years and constantly meeting women who assume "he's like the character he played in American Pie. While Biggs' representatives deny the claims, a source tells America's Star magazine, "He complains that he can't find love, so he's joined Match.com hoping that will help him score some great dates. "The online girls all look great to him. He's going to give it a try."
Tara Reid Slams 'Friends with Lohan' Reports

Actress Tara Reid has viciously attacked the New York Post's gossip columns for claiming she is close friends with teen star Lindsay Lohan. The American Pie star has been a regular feature in showbiz columns over the past few years for her party-loving ways and hit the headlines last month when her breast fell out of her dress on the red carpet of Sean 'P Diddy' Combs' 35th birthday party. In an interview with America's Stuff magazine, Reid blasts, "The reporters from ( New York Post's) 'Page Six' hate me, and I don't know why. They will write anything they can and always in a derogatory way. You can't do anything about it." Reid focuses on one of "Page Six"'s three female correspondents Liz Smith, Cindy Adams and Elisa Lipsky-karasz, but refuses to clarify which reporter she hates. Reid fumes, "She's just evil. But karma's a bitch, so she'll get hers." The blonde beauty is furious she's been associated with Lohan, who, despite being underage at 18 years old, is regularly spotted in the nightclubs of Hollywood and New York. She explains, "A tabloid reported she moved into my house and she's never even been to my house. Some article said I was a bad influence on her, because she was going out and going crazy. But Lindsay Lohan is way more wild than I was when I was her age. Don't put me with her - I don't want to be dragged into her s**t."
Law and Frost's Nanny to Tell-all?

A nanny who worked for Jude Law and Sadie Frost is reportedly in negotiations to sell her secret revelations on the divorced couple to scandal- hungry British newspapers. The Road to Perdition star and fashion designer Frost divorced in October 2003 following a turbulent marriage, and their children's carer hit the headlines for allegedly alerting police to a "domestic disturbance" involving the warring pair. According to London daily the Evening Standard, journalists are also desperate to acquire more details about the near-tragic occasion in 2002 when their daughter Iris swallowed part of an ecstasy tablet during a kids' bash at private members' club Soho House. Earlier this year, movie star Law was reportedly considering using a former nanny as a witness in a custody battle for their three children.
Noth Set for 'Law & Order' Return
Sex & the City star Chris Noth is set to return to the force in 2005 as a Law & Order regular. The actor, who played Mr. Big in Sex & the City, is set to reprise his detective character Mike Logan, which he played for five seasons on the original Law & Order drama in spin-off show Criminal Intent. And if series star Vincent D'Onofrio's health problems become a serious problem, Noth is being tipped to take over the lead role in the program. The Cell star D'Onofrio has fainted twice on the set recently with a mystery illness. A show insider says, "The producers need to protect the show, and I think that moving Noth into the lead would be a very likely scenario."
Cage Rules Out 007 Role

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage has laughed off reports he's been lined up as a possible James Bond replacement for Pierce Brosnan, insisting only British actors can fill the role. At the British premiere of his latest film National Treasure, Cage admitted playing 007 would be a dream role, but he has no realistic chance of starring as the superspy. Cage said, "That's the thing - there's no way an American will ever be allowed to play James Bond. You can have a Brit play Batman but you can't have an American play Bond, that will never happen. As much as I'd love to, I will never be invited to that party."
Clooney Pulls Out of World Trip
George Clooney has been forced to pull out of the Ocean's Twelve world premiere tour because he's in too much pain. The movie star aggravated a ruptured disc in his back while making upcoming movie Syriana and has been laid up for a week as painkillers kick in to relieve the pain. The actor was expected to join castmates Brad Pitt and Matt Damon in Rome, Italy, yesterday after attending the film's Hollywood premiere on Wednesday. But Clooney failed to make it onto producer Jerry Weintraub's midnight Ocean's Twelve jet because he was in agony.
Reilly Begs for 'Guys and Dolls' Role

Hollywood star John C. Reilly has shamelessly urged Miramax movie-makers to recruit him for their big screen version of Guys and Dolls. The character actor, who starred in the studio's Chicago and Gangs of New York, spent his early career on the stage in musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar, Fiddler on the Roof and Brigadoon - and he's eager to show off the skills required for these shows once again. He says, " Guys and Dolls - that's my favorite. I know Miramax are supposed to be doing the movie of it and boy I want to be in on that, because I just love it."
Spears Stinks Out Plane with Feet

Pop beauty Britney Spears' smelly feet upset her fellow airplane passengers recently. The "Toxic" singer was flying from Los Angeles to New York with her husband Kevin Federline and decided to make herself more comfortable by removing her shoes. Unfortunately for her fellow passengers, Britney's feet caused such a stink it wasn't long before they were forced to complain to a stewardess. One says, "The smell was unbelievable. One woman had a word with the air hostess, then three or four others complained. "She looked pretty embarrassed as she tapped Britney on the shoulder and asked her very politely to put her shoes back on. "Britney went red, laughed and said her shoes made her feet stink. Thankfully she put them on. There's no way we could have put up with that."
