Actor Billy Bob Thornton has become a father for the fourth time, after his girlfriend Connie Angland gave birth to a baby daughter. Baby Bella weighed six pounds one-and-a-half ounces and both Angland, 39, and her newborn girl are doing well, their publicist has confirmed. The baby is Angland's first, while five-times married Thornton, 49, already has two sons, William and Harry, with fourth wife Pietra Dawn Cherniak and a daughter, Amanda, with first wife Melissa Lee Gatlin. The couple have been together since meeting on the set of 2003 movie Bad Santa - following Thornton's split from fifth wife Angelina Jolie.

Ben Affleck's low-key romance with Jennifer Garner has become a real challenge for paparazzi - because they've yet to snap the stars together. According to reports, the Daredevil co-stars started dating in late July after Affleck appeared on the Vancouver, Canada, set of their movie's spin-off Elektra to film a cameo. And while a number of publications, such as People and Us Weekly, have declared sightings of Affleck and Garner together at each other's homes and around Los Angeles, the telling picture - which would be worth a fortune - has yet to be captured. With representatives refusing to comment on the couple's romance, it bears a striking contrast from Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's ill-fated relationship, which was the target of an 18-month media frenzy. In Touch Weekly's executive editor Dan Wakeford says, "We've had a list of reports (about Affleck and Garner's romance), but never seen any pictures. He was burned by J.Lo. If he hides, it takes the pressure off the relationship and provides protection if it doesn't work out."

Sir Elton John has clashed with photographers at Taiwan's Taipei's Chiang Kai-shek Airport, calling them "vile pigs". The rocker berated cameramen and TV journalists as he walked through immigration, after arriving by private plane yesterday, to perform at the country's Chung Shan soccer stadium tonight. He shouted, "Rude vile pigs. Do you know what that means? Rude vile pigs. That's what all of you are." One of the photographers shouted back, "Why don't you get out of Taiwan?" John retorted, "We'd love to get out of Taiwan if it's full of people like you. Pig. Pig." The singer's spokesperson comments, "Elton John's arrival at Taipei Airport was greeted by what can only be described as chaos and confusion. The local police and security at the airport failed to protect Elton John from the ensuing chaos. Despite this frightening arrival, his spirits remain high and he is looking forward to performing the concert."

Jennifer Lopez is revealing all about her surprise third wedding at last, admitting her new status as Marc Anthony's wife has softened up her personality. The singer/actress appeared on last night's Primetime Live news show in America, and confessed to interviewer Diane Sawyer she was "a little nervous". Then, she opened up about her June wedding, and vowed her latest trip down the aisle will lead to a lasting romance. She said, "What do I know about marriage? I think I've learned that both people have to really wanna be there. It's how you treat each other when you're hurt. I think that's the most important thing - because it's all great when everything's fun and great and lovely, but I think in the hard times is when a marriage becomes a marriage or it just falls apart." But the biggest shock in the candid chat came when Lopez revealed she's ditched her tough girl image. She added, "I was always so Bronxy in a way - gutsy and ballsy and 'I don't care what anybody thinks...'" Lopez also confessed she didn't think she'd ever be happily married after breaking up with Ben Affleck earlier this year: "There's always a part of you that doesn't believe everything once you've been through a lot."

Britney Spears has confirmed she scrapped plans to wed Kevin Federline at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, California, next month when the big day became "too much" to handle. The pop superstar had intended to exchange vows at the Bacara Resort on October 16 and sent out invites to family and friends - but then changed her mind and wed her dancer fiance on Saturday. In an exclusive post-wedding interview with America's People magazine, Spears says, "I just thought it would be too much if we had done it when we were supposed to. It became this huge thing and I was like, 'What are we waiting for? We know this is the real thing, why not just do it now? That's why I wanted to sneak and do it our little way... I'm just kind of happy that we pulled off the whole thing."

Phil Spector's lawyers fear the rock producer has been indicted by a secret grand jury for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, meaning his case will head straight to court. The music pioneer was asked to attend a Los Angeles hearing on Monday - which his legal team fear will mean an indictment. Such a development will enable prosecutors to avoid a hearing that would require them to show enough evidence to bind Spector over for a trial. Spector's attorney Roger Rosen says, "I can't imagine any other reason to be there. Phil is very disappointed. He felt strongly that there was a very significant possibility this case would be thrown out at the prelim, so he's very disappointed that he's lost the chance." Spector was charged with murder last November for the fatal shooting of the 40-year-old blonde at his Los Angeles home in February. Prosecutors say police found blood and gunshot residue on Spector - as well as evidence he had cleaned and moved the gun after the event.

The relatives of Marlon Brando are considering developing the late actor's Polynesian island of Tetiaroa into a luxury tourist attraction. Brando, who died on July 1, bought the Tahiti atoll after making Mutiny On The Bounty in the 1960s and often made trips there for sun-kissed relaxation. And his son Miko is now considering turning it into a destination for the more discerning traveler. He tells the Los Angeles Times, "I think there's talk about developing half of it, because at the end, my father wanted to develop it and have a hotel franchise take it over and develop it as a resort. He was talking with a big hotel franchise that would set it up as a luxury resort, hotel and spa. He never got around to it, so you know, if it comes up, that's an option we have." Miko adds that the main objective is to keep the sun-kissed island - where half of Brando's ashes are scattered - in the family.

Bryce Dallas Howard has reportedly been dropped from Australian Russell Crowe's new movie Eucalyptus, because the actor wants a co- star from his homeland. American beauty Howard - whose father is Oscar-winning director Ron Howard - was critically lauded for her role in M. Night Shyamalan thriller The Village, and was lined up to play Crowe's love interest in the film. But, according to Australian newspaper the Melbourne Sun, she was dropped because Crowe and director Jocelyn Moorhouse "want an Aussie actor, preferably unknown".

Johnny Depp reportedly gave up his co-ownership of trendy Los Angeles nightclub The Viper Room following the controversy of his missing ex-partner. Depp has been caught up in the scandal surrounding the disappearance of businessman Anthony Fox, who went missing two years ago, and hasn't been heard of since. Now, as part of a legal settlement, Depp has quietly handed over his ownership of the trendy club to Fox's daughter, who plans to sell the Sunset Strip club. Sources close to Depp claim the movie star lost interest in the club in recent years after his friend River Phoenix died outside The Viper Room in 1993.

Salma Hayek has split from her boyfriend of a year, actor Josh Lucas. The couple have been dating since August 2003 - after Hayek split from long-term lover Edward Norton. But Hayek's representative reveals they separated three month ago. Lucas - who stars in new movie Around The Bend - confirms, "We're not still together."
