Mary-Kate and Boyfriend Split

Teen actress Mary-kate Olsen is making a fresh start with her move from Los Angeles to New York City - she's split from her boyfriend David Katzenberg. Mary-Kate, 18, and Katzenberg met in December and were frequently seen out and about in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old, son of media mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, was on hand to support Mary-Kate during her six-week treatment for an eating disorder earlier this summer. He was even among the guests at a August 13 farewell bash for Mary-Kate and her twin sister Ashley before they moved to the Big Apple to attend the prestigious New York University. But now things have come to an end, reports People magazine. A pal says, "It was a mutual parting of the ways. It had more to do with school than anything else. It's reasonable for her to start school fresh." Katzenberg currently attends Boston College in Massachusetts, which is 200 miles to north of Mary-Kate's new home.

Wyle Quits 'ER'

ER heart-throb Noah Wyle is quitting the American medical drama after ten years. Wyle, who plays Doctor John Carter and has outlasted actors George Clooney and Julianna Marguiles since the show's birth in 1994, plans to spend more time with his wife Tracy and son Owen. He says, "I've got family and friends who said goodbye to me 12 years ago and are wondering when I'm coming back." The actor is keen to make way for a younger generation of actors, including Bend It Like Beckham star Parminder Nagra who joined the show in 2003 to play Neela Rasgotra. He adds, "Names like Parminder are a thing of the future."

Dougray Scott To Play Bond?

British actor Dougray Scott has reportedly beaten off competition from actors, Eric Bana, Ioan Gruffud and Clive Owen to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. The To Kill A King hunk, 38, clinched the role after discussions with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and will be the seventh actor to appear as the sexy British agent. He will make his first appearance in the 23rd Bond movie after Eon Productions decided they wanted to return to a more brooding Bond in the mould of fellow Scot Sean Connery, reports British newspaper the Sunday Mirror. A movie insider says, "Producers have been eager to take Bond back to the broody and sexy figure that Sean was so brilliant at. Obviously it's not possible for Sean to return at his age, so they have been looking for a younger actor with similar characteristics. Since then Barbara and Dougray have been in talks - and she believes he will be the perfect new 007 for the 21st Century." Brosnan announced two months ago that he would not be starring as Bond again, saying, "That's it. I've said all I've got to say on the world of James Bond."

J.Lo's Ex Make-Up Artist Threatens Scandalous Book

Jennifer Lopez's former make-up artist has threatened to write a scandalous book about the Latina star if she continues to criticize him in public. Scott Barnes was ditched by Lopez after four years, when she discovered he was leaking private information about her to the press. But Barnes, who has worked with Kate Hudson and Uma Thurman, denies the reports and is considering revealing secrets about her faith healer who allegedly purifies her houses by ridding "bad auras" and curses people who cause her distress. An insider tells website Pagesix.Com, "He knows everything. He knows all about Jennifer and her faith healer (Merle Gonzalez). After Ben Affleck left Jennifer, Merle went in to expel bad auras and cleanse her house. Merle also blessed the Shall We Dance set and some people say Jennifer has had Merle put hexes on people she feels have done her wrong." Lopez's representative said, "We don't comment on personal matters."

Zeta-Jones Stalker Kept Signed Book

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones' alleged stalker Dawnette Knight has kept a book autographed by the actress and her husband Michael Douglas, a court heard on Wednesday. Los Angeles Superior Court were told police searched the 33-year-old's Beverly Hills, California apartment and found a signed copy of My Stroke Of Luck, written by Michael's actor father, Kirk, as well as a letter written to Michael, calling him "the sexiest man alive". Outside court, Knight's fiance, Ronald Calvin, said, "She's a fan. Movie stars have fans." Knight was arrested on June 3 and charged with one felony count of stalking and 24 felony counts of making criminal threats. The continuing preliminary hearing will decide if Ms Knight will go before a jury at a full trial, if convicted, she could face up to 19 years in state prison.

Dunst Dating Hartnett?

Kirsten Dunst has reportedly been spotted canoodling with Josh Hartnett in a Los Angeles night spot. The Spider-Man beauty, who recently split with actor boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, was seen kissing Hartnett at West Hollywood's Fenix club, reports a British newspaper. A source tells the Daily Sport, "They were necking, it was very hot. He was whispering in her ear and kissing her neck most of the night." Dunst first met Hartnett on the set of 1999 film The Virgin Suicides, in which they played lovers, and has reportedly "always had a crush on her". Hartnett was recently linked to Quincy Jones's daughter Rashida, following his break-up with high school sweetheart Ellen Fenster.

'Vera Drake' Takes Two Awards in Venice

Controversial Mike Leigh movie Vera Drake has won the Golden Lion prize for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. Vera Drake, which focuses on a fictional back street abortionist in 1950s London, also saw Imelda Staunton win the Coppa Volpi award for Best Actress. Staunton plays a cleaner who specializes in illegal terminations. Staunton told the audience on Saturday, "I want to thank the tireless jury for embracing and honoring this film which I'm so proud to be in, because it deals with a complex subject with such compassion." Elsewhere, Spanish star Javier Bardem was named Best Actor for his performance as a suicidal paralyzed man in Mar Adentro.

Madonna Concert Special Canceled

Madonna's planned concert for American TV network CBS has been called off, after a series of wrangles with bosses. A network representative says the Music singer and CBS couldn't agree on several issues, including whether the show would air without commercial interruption. The concert was to have been taped in Lisbon, Portugal, next week during the pop superstar's Re-Invention tour and then aired at a later date. However, Madonna wanted the broadcast to run beyond the two hours and be commercial-free, similar to concert specials that air on cable network HBO. CBS reportedly balked at the requests, specifically wanting to keep the show within the two-hour time frame.

Jackson Suffers Script Malfunction on 'Will & Grace'

Janet Jackson had a tough time during her guest appearance on hit sitcom Will & Grace - because she constantly messed up her lines. The Nasty singer plays herself in an episode set to air in American on September 23, but admits that it wasn't as easy as she'd hoped it would be. Jackson says, "I flubbed my lines and got so frustrated when I make mistakes. I haven't done (scripted) TV since Diff'rent Strokes, and it's not like Saturday Night Live where you can read cue cards. On Will & Grace they're always rewriting, so you're always memorizing. I had the most trouble with this name, Artemis. Every time I tried to say it, it comes out Amadeus. So I wrote it down - 'Ar-tem-is, Ar-tem-is' - over and over. The dancing, though, I could do. That's the easy part of playing myself." Jackson arrives on the sitcom after Sean Hayes' character Jack gets kicked off Jennifer Lopez's dancing squad.
