Spielberg Postpones Film Over Terrorist Fears

Legendary director Steven Spielberg has postponed his latest movie Vengeance because he's concerned it will become a target for Islamic terrorists. Production on Vengeance - about the successful hunt for the 17 Palestinians who attacked the Israeli Olympic team at the 1972 Munich games - was set to start in June, but the Jewish Schindler's List director is anxious because one of the terrorists has never been found. Spielberg's spokesman Marvin Levy told website Pagesix.Com, "Steven is getting script pages every day. Troy's Eric Bana is still set to star in the movie, scheduled for a 2006 release. But the postponement has resulted in Oscar-winning Ben Kingsley dropping out. There were a lot of sources for this movie from many mediums."

Jackson Prosecutor Accused of Breaking Gag Order

Troubled singer Michael Jackson's defense team have accused a prosecutor in his child molestation case of breaking a gag order. Santa Barbara, California, District Attorney Tom Sneddon last month told a Canadian conference of fellow DAs that witnesses had been contacted "to keep them off TV". Now the Thriller star's lawyers have asked Santa Barbara Superior Court to decide if Sneddon's actions are a violation of the order. Sneddon made his comments in front of a Vancouver crowd on July 20. He said, "We sent letters to some people saying we intended to call them as witnesses in order to keep them off TV." In June, Jackson was reprimanded by Judge Rodney Melville after he released a statement that read: "I did not, and would not, ever, harm a child." Melville told the 45-year-old all future comments on the case must be deemed acceptable by the court first. Jackson denies committing a lewd act on a child, administering an intoxicating agent and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion.

Tabloids Ease Off Olsen Cocaine Story

American tabloids are backing off their claim that Mary-Kate Olsen checked into a Utah clinic for a cocaine addiction - instead of an eating disorder as widely reported. Star magazine has been cooperating with the Olsen camp and will run a more flattering picture of the superstar this week - despite claiming last month that she was been treating at Cirque Lodge for illegal substance abuse. Olsen spokesman Michael Pagnotta says, "We felt it was in Mary-Kate's interest to have as good a picture as we could provide. Our lawyers came into agreement with their lawyers." The publication's accompanying story does not mention cocaine according to gossip site Pagesix.Com and concentrates on Mary-Kate's treatment for anorexia. However publishers American Media Inc. (AMI) spokesperson Stu Zakim claims the weeklies are standing by their coke claims, but "it was old news. She was always being treated for anorexia and cocaine." Pagnotta refutes the cocaine reports, and says, "The cocaine stories were false, and it was pointed out internally. We made the best of what was not an easy situation."

Fed Up Carter Speaks Out About Hilton's Mystery Bruises

Backstreet Boys hunk Nick Carter has chosen to speak out himself against reports he beat ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton, after becoming fed up with the constant gossiping. Hotel heiress Hilton set tongues wagging last week when she was seen out and about in Los Angeles with bruises on her arm and lip. Almost immediately, rumors were spread that her pop singer ex was responsible for it. And while Carter has denied the allegations through his lawyer Marty Singer, he's now chosen to set the record straight by talking about it himself. He tells American TV show Entertainment Tonight, "If they need the media attention, let them do their thing. My family, friends and fans know that this is not my character and I would never hurt anyone that I cared for or do anything like the malicious things they are claiming. The truth will come out." Hilton herself is remaining tight-lipped about the bruising.

McGregor's Beard Trauma

Ewan McGregor's wife has ordered him to shave off the shaggy beard he grew during his round the world motorbike trek - because it's scaring their kids. McGregor returned from the 20,000 mile trip with pal Charley Boorman and the unsightly facial growth last week - and Eve isn't impressed. A pal says, "Eve hates it. She says it makes him look like a Hell's Angel and that it would frighten their daughters Esther and Clara." According to reports, the actor plans to shave the beard off to raise money for the United Nations Children's Fund.

Reshoots on 'Star Wars' Film

The latest installment in George Lucas' blockbusting Star Wars series is undergoing reshoots in London, despite principal photography finishing last year. Natalie Portman, who again plays Queen Amidala in the forthcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, is flying into the British capital to help with finishing touches to the forthcoming film. But Portman is refusing to reveal why Lucas feels reshoots are necessary so long after the movie's shoot ended. She says, "I haven't been told anything so for all I know, it could be like walking, an insert shot of my hands, or a whole new storyline, so I will be as surprised as you are."

Cage Starts Married Life Shopping

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage gave his new wife Alice Kim the ultimate treat after their Friday wedding, by whisking her off to New York for a spending spree. The Leaving Las Vegas star, 40, exchanged nuptials with 20-year-old Kim at a private ceremony on a ranch in northern California, and the following day the newlyweds were spotted enjoying lunch together in San Francisco. They then headed for a private airstrip where they jetted off to the Big Apple for their honeymoon. Their union is the third wedding for Cage, 40, who split with his previous wife Lisa Marie Presley after less than four months in 2002. Before that, he was married for six years to actress Patricia Arquette. First-time wife Kim, a former sushi waitress, met Cage when the actor visited the Los Angeles restaurant where she worked. They started dating in February and reportedly became engaged after two months.

Depp Warns Paparazzi: "Stay Away from My Kids"

Hollywood heart-throb Johnny Depp has issued a chilling warning to paparazzi who photograph his children - stay away or "I'll bite your nose off!" The Edward Scissorhands star lives a quiet life in France with his long- term love Vanessa Paradis and their children Jack, two, and Lily-rose, five. While Depp doesn't mind if snappers catch him on camera, he is fiercely protective of his young tots. Depp says, "I'm warning the paparazzi, 'if you're going to get me have a long lens and make sure you're really far away because if I get my hands on you it could get ugly.' I don't care if they take my photo - although I don't know why anyone needs another picture of me. I don't care if they Vanessa's photo, but when they take care of my kids, that I can't support. If I catch them I'll bite their noses off and swallow it."

Parker Defends Cattrall Over 'Sex and the City' Movie

Sarah Jessica Parker has lashed out at reports she is angry with her former co-star Kim Cattrall for halting the Sex And The City movie. The defunct TV comedy's stars Kristin Davis, Willie Garson and series producer Darren Starr has all spoken publicly of their disappointment that the film wouldn't be made, after Cattrall pulled out claiming she wasn't offered enough money and was busy filming other projects. When Parker was asked about how she felt about leaving her character Carrie Bradshaw behind indefinitely, the blonde beauty admits while she is sad about it, Cattrall should not be blamed. Parker says, "It was frustrating but a lot of the talk was overdone. I think it would have been a great project but in the end there's a sense of relief that you're closing one chapter of your career and moving on to another. The worst part was dealing with all the gossip about who killed the project and things like that. I just don't care anymore. There is no bitterness towards Kim. No, no. It's honestly the furthest thing from mind."

Ailing Slater's British Stage Debut Delayed

Hollywood star Christian Slater has been forced to delay his British stage debut as he struggles to overcome a bout of chicken pox. The True Romance hunk, 34, was taken ill on Friday during rehearsals of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest in London after his co- star Felix Dexter was diagnosed with the highly contagious disease. As Slater's illness continues, producers have pulled the opening night this Friday at Scotland's Edinburgh Festival, giving Slater more time to recover. The play's producer Nica Burns says, "We so hoped we would be able to make the first performance but poor Christian's chicken pox has simply been too virulent. In order to safeguard the rest of the run we are having to take the doctor's advice to let Christian recover for one more day. Randle P. McMurphy is an enormous part requiring great energy." After three weeks at the Assembly Rooms in the Scottish capital, the play were transfer to the West End's Gielgud Theatre.
