Diaz Chases Website Over S&M Footage

Hollywood star Cameron Diaz is trying to block a Russian internet site from offering video footage of a saucy movie she made before she was famous. The Charlie's Angels star, 31, has spent the last year battling to stop the release of footage of her topless and wearing fishnet stockings in the 1992 'S&M' film. But website Scandal-inc.Com is now offering pay-per-view customers the chance to watch the semi-nude star performing role play with a brunette and man in shackles and using a can of compressed air "for a purpose probably not recommended by the manufacturer" in the film they are calling She's No Angel: Cameron Diaz. A press release for Scandal-Inc.com claims they obtained rights to the film from a distributor who bought them from photographer John Rutter - who made the film. But Rutter's lawyer tells the New York Daily News, he "has nothing to do with this web site. This video has been in existence for 12 years. Someone must have gotten a copy." According to Diaz's representatives, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has issued an injunction banning anyone from distributing photos and video from the film. A cease and desist letter has been sent to the website's owners.

Bowie Recovering from Heart Surgery

Veteran rocker David Bowie underwent heart surgery last month after axing the remainder of his European tour with severe shoulder pain. The star was rushed to hospital in Germany, days after collapsing on stage in the Czech Republic on June 23, with what was reported to have been a pinched nerve. However, his spokesman has now revealed the singer underwent an angioplasty procedure to treat "an acutely blocked artery". But the representative has assured fans that Bowie - who had a mesh-like metal device inserted into his artery during the complicated procedure - is making a good recovery. He says, "He is at home in New York convalescing with his wife and daughter." Surgeons operated on Bowie after he struggled thorough his performance at the Hurricane Festival in Schessel on June 25. The singer was released from St Georg Hospital in Hamburg earlier this week.

'Frasier' Star Lands Monty Python Role

Former Frasier star David Hyde Pierce and Rocky Horror Picture Show actor Tim Curry have been named among the cast of Eric Idle's new Monty Python musical. The acting pair and funnyman Hank Azaria will take the leads in the Broadway-bound production of Spamalot. The King Arthur legend spoof, which became cult Monty Python film Monty Python & The Holy Grail, will be directed by Oscar winner Mike Nichols. Pierce, who played Frasier's brother Niles Crane in the hit sitcom, will play Sir Robin and Curry will play King Arthur. Azaria will take on the role of Sir Lancelot. The show is set to debut in Chicago, Illinois, in December, before beginning a Broadway run in February.

Jackson's Lawyers Plea To Dump Indictment

Troubled singer Michael Jackson's lawyers have asked a Californian judge to throw out a grand jury indictment on child molestation charges. The self-proclaimed 'King Of Pop' was indicted in a Santa Maria court in April on ten charges, including child molestation, administering an intoxicating agent to a child and false imprisonment. Jackson's attorney Robert Sanger filed a motion on Wednesday, claiming prosecutors bullied witnesses and "ran the proceedings as if they employed the grand jurors". The motion said, "There is no case in the history of the state of California that has condoned anything like the abuse of power demonstrated in this grand jury proceeding." Jackson's lawyers accuse the prosecutors who ran the secret grand jury hearings of "by innuendo and sarcasm, impugning Mr. Jackson by ridiculing those allegedly associated with him and even those who sought to legally represent him." One witness whose evidence was quoted at length was clearly identifiable as Russell Halpern, the lawyer who represented the father of Jackson's teenage accuser in a custody dispute with the boy's mother. The couple are now divorced. Jackson has pleaded not guilty to all charges, following his arrest in November

Douglases Gather for Eric's Low-Key Funeral

Michael Douglas' half-brother Eric Douglas was laid to rest in a low-key Hollywood memorial service yesterday surrounded by 50 members of his family and close friends. Catherine Zeta-Jones flew in from Europe, where she's shooting Ocean's Twelve, to be by her husband's side as he said goodbye to his tragic sibling at the Westwood Memorial Cemetery. The movie star and his son Cameron acted as pallbearers, while Douglas' brothers Joel and Peter comforted their dad Kirk and his wife Anne. Eric Douglas' body was found on Tuesday morning in a Manhattan, New York, apartment amid reports of a drug overdose. An autopsy, performed on Wednesday, proved inconclusive.

Paltrow's Giant Back Marks

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow stunned onlookers at a New York party by sporting a low-cut strapless top which exposed a series of large circular blotches on her skin. The Shakespeare In Love beauty - who gave birth to her first child, Apple, with husband Chris Martin in May - made no attempt to conceal the bizarre spots at a glitzy night out in Manhattan on Wednesday night. But skin experts have dismissed suggestions there's a sinister background to the marks, believing they were caused by a healing treatment called Cupping, where heated cups draw toxins from the flesh. A fan in New York observes, "She looked like an alien."

Hawke Marriage Meltdown Inspired 'Sunset' Script

Ethan Hawke's shock split from wife Uma Thurman inspired the bittersweet musings of his character Jesse in eagerly-anticipated sequel Before Sunset. According to director Richard Linklater, when he, Hawke and leading lady Julie Delpy got together to collaborate on the screenplay, the Training Day hunk was aiming to "blur the line between performer and character". And Linklater admits he found the plot, in which Jesse tells old flame Celine how he is trapped in a loveless marriage because of his children, "scary". Linklater explains, "It was a little scary. Current events had caught up with us. To Ethan's credit, I think it informed the making of the film. It definitely informed some of his feelings."

'Day After Tomorrow' Plagiarism Case Thrown Out

An American professor's claim that the makers of blockbuster movie The Day After Tomorrow plagiarized his novel have been thrown out by a German court. Harvard University lecturer Ubaldo Di Benedetto alleged the Roland Emmerich disaster film had stolen sections of his 1993 novel Polar Day 9 - published under the teacher's pseudonym Kyle Donner. Cologne state court judge Margarete Reske ruled on Wednesday that the book and movie were based upon "entirely different stories" and the author's claims "simply could not be found". Di Benedetto had asked the film's German distributor 20th Century Fox Deutschland to publicize the alleged source in cinemas. At a court hearing last month, 20th Century Fox attorney Thomas Hertel said Emmerich had not heard of Di Benedetto's story.

Roy Meets Tiger Attacker

Illusionist Roy Horn has come face to face with the white tiger who almost ended his life last year - for the first time. The German magician was mauled by tiger Montecore onstage during a live show in Las Vegas and has spent the past nine months fighting for life. The tearful 59-year-old patted and chatted to the big cat as part of a TV documentary on his recovery, which will be aired on the first anniversary of the tiger attack, which left Horn clinically dead for a minute. The reunion took place at Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden, housed at the Mirage hotel and casino in Las Vegas, where Montecore has been housed since the mauling. Meanwhile, Horn has amazed medics, who feared he wouldn't be able to survive his terrifying injuries - he has regained the ability to speak and write.

Jolie's New Photographer Beau

Angelina Jolie has reportedly found a new man in top photographer Michel Comte. The pair have been inseparable since meeting at the Cannes Film Festival in France last month, and the couple were recently spotted kissing and hugging at the Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills. One onlooker says, "They were swimming and laughing together... and stole quick kisses."
