Michelle Pfeiffer Set To Star in Agatha Christie Remake

Hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to star in the remake of the 1957 version of Agatha Christie's Witness For The Prosecution. Almost 60 years after the Billy Wilder-directed version, Pfeiffer is set to take on the role of Christine Helm Vole in the courtroom drama. David E. Kelley - who is married to Michelle - is adapting the screenplay for the film, which has been welcomed by Christie's family. Agatha's grandson Mathew Pritchard said, "The role of Christine was written for someone like Michelle Pfeiffer. She'd be perfect in it. She's gorgeous, sultry and superbly talented. Would my grandmother approve? Definitely. It'll be one of the biggest films ever based on an Agatha Christie work."
'Simpsons' Creator Makes Debut Appearance on Show
The Simpsons creator Matt Groening will finally make a guest appearance on his massively popular show - 15 seasons after it debut. While a host of celebrities have appeared on the hit cartoon Groening has taken a back seat, but will now be seen in an episode which will air on American screens on April 4. He says, "The writers wrote it in as a goof. I thought, 'I'll show them. I'll do it.'" But Groening, who plays himself in the episode, will be introduced as the creator of cartoon Futurama, as he insists he couldn't be identified as the creator of the show on The Simpsons because "the whole universe would implode".
Perry To Wed Girlfriend?
Friends star Matthew Perry is so in love with his girlfriend he plans to marry her - but not yet. The 34-year-old actor, who plays Chandler in the smash sitcom, hopes to spend the rest of his life with partner Rachel Dunn. But Perry is in no rush to walk down the aisle, or raise kids. He says, "I'm enjoying having a relationship and don't think I'm ready for the responsibility of children yet because I'm too much of a child myself still." Perry is set to be seen on the big screen opposite Bruce Willis in the sequel The Whole Ten Yards.
Berry Bows Out of Movie

Oscar winner Halle Berry has unexpectedly pulled out of forthcoming HBO TV drama Lackawanna Blues. The Gothika beauty - who is also acting as executive producer on the show - gave no reason for dropping out of the eccentric ensemble drama. Lackawanna Blues also stars Do The Right Thing actress Rosie Perez, soul singer Macy Gray and Law & Order star S. Epatha Merkerson. Ill health forced Berry, 37, to miss a ceremony at the Showest convention in Las Vegas last Thursday, where she was to receive the award for Female Star Of The Year.
Stiles To Appear on London Stage
Mona Lisa Smile actress Julia Stiles will make her London, West End debut in a controversial sexual harassment play. The actress, 23, will co-star with another Hollywood star - Aaron Eckhart - in the London revival of David Mamet's male-female conflict play Oleanna. According to the Empireonline website, Stiles is already in rehearsals for the play - in which she plays a struggling student who accuses her unconventional university professor (Echkart) of sexual harassment. The play has already provoked strong reactions from audiences - especially when the professor uses strong language to describe his student. Stiles hopes the play will garner the same reaction from London audiences as those in her native America, she says, "Oh, I do hope so. I will have done my job."
Hilton Wriggles Out of Speeding Fines

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton boasts she often manages to get away from having to pay up for speeding offenses - because most of the policemen who stop her want to take her out to dinner. The party-loving blonde, 23, admits she's quite a fast driver when she's on the road, but rarely gets into trouble - unless she's stopped by a female cop. She says, "I always get out it. The cop always ends up giving me his business car and saying, 'Let's go to dinner tonight.' But I never call them. I got a few tickets from girl cops though."
Napoleon Storms Hollywood

Hollywood heavyweight Al Pacino is going head to head against rising star Scarlett Johansson - he's appearing in a rival Napoleon Bonaparte film. Following the news the Lost In Translation beauty is playing the female lead in Napoleon And Betsey, Oscar-winner Pacino has been unveiled as the diminutive French dictator in The Master Of Longwood, an adaptation of the Staton Rabin novel Betsey And The Emperor, set to shoot on Fiji and the Isle of Man. Both films tell the story of Napoleon's friendship with a British girl during his exile on St Helena in 1815.
Radcliffe Passes Church, Approaches Prince's Wealth
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has replaced singer Charlotte Church as Britain's second richest teenager - and the actor is predicted to soon become the richest. Currently Prince Harry is the country's richest teenager, but Radcliffe is predicted to eclipse the royal's reported $25 million fortune as his salary for the series of Potter films rises which each installment. A movie insider says, "The project would lose too much credibility if they changed any of the lead actors now so in effect Dan can name his price. He'll be the richest teenager in the UK and one of the richest in the world by the time its all done."
Witherspoon and Phillippe Selling Bel-Air Abode

Actress Reese Witherspoon and husband Ryan Phillippe have placed their Los Angeles home on the market. The couple, parents of Ava, four, and five-month-old son Deacon, recently bought a Spanish-style six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Los Angeles for approximately $5 million. They are now selling their old four-bedroom, five-bathroom Bel Air home, which sits on close to an acre of landscaped gardens, and has an updated kitchen and revamped bathrooms.
