Jennifer Garner Files for Divorce

Sexy Daredevil star Jennifer Garner has filed for divorce from actor Scott Foley - six weeks after they announced their decision to separate. The actress cited irreconcilable differences for the breakup, in papers filed to the American Superior Court last week. The pair met in 1998 on the set of Felicity - the drama in which Foley starred - and married in October 2000. But the couple's publicist recently announced the pair had "mutually decided to separate." The news comes just weeks after Garner and her Alias co-star Michael Vartan were spotted looking "like a couple" at a Hollywood party - intensifying speculation the two are now an item.

Sandra Bullock Issued Restraint Against "Stalker"

Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has been granted a restraining order against a mentally ill man she claims stalked her in three American states. According to court papers, the Two Weeks Notice star filed the petition against Thomas James Weldon last Friday, because he has caused her "physical or emotional injury." Bullock describes in her petition her growing fear for his behavior, as he, "has become increasingly vigorous in his pursuit... and is concerned that this increased aggressiveness will escalate to violence." Evidence provided to support Bullock's petition included faxes allegedly sent by Weldon to her production company Fortis Films. In one dated November 10, 2002, Weldon reportedly wrote, "You said in People magazine you are going to take a year off. When is it over? Because I want you here. So get here so we can have that fun." Weldon - who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia but refuses to take medication - has reportedly followed Bullock from California, to Texas, to South Carolina and has deluged her family, agent and production company with requests for money and intimacy with the brunette actress. An arrest warrant has been issued for Weldon in Bullock's home state of Texas. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon last Friday ordered Weldon not to contact Bullock and to stay at least 200 yards away from her until the June 6 hearing.

Gwyneth's Still Mourning

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow is so devastated by the death of her father eight months ago, she is still unable to return to work. Movie executives today yesterday announced the 30-year-old beauty has pulled out of a second film as she continues to mourn her director father Bruce Paltrow, who died from a heart attack last October, aged 59. Oscar-winner Paltrow, engaged to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, has told Fox Searchlight she is dropping out of the comedy I Love Huckabee's, in which she would have starred alongside Jude Law and Dustin Hoffman. The production has been thrown into chaos as a result, although English-born The Ring actress Naomi Watts has been penciled in as a replacement. This is the second film Paltrow has quit because of her grief. The Hollywood Reporter newspaper claims she also recently withdrew from Happy Endings, starring Ray Liotta, and she has not worked since filming Ted And Sylvia last year. According to the This Is London website, a friend of the actress says, "She idolized her father and now she is feeling all the emotions of guilt that there was nothing she could do to save him."

'Terminator 3' Toned Down After 9/11

A plane crash was cut from the new Terminator sequel, because of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Movie muscle-man Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to save the world in Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines. But the Austrian-born actor has confessed several violent scenes were left on the cutting room floor, after the 2001 attacks on New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. Arnie says, "A huge plane crash was rewritten because one, it was too close to 9/11 and two, it was too expensive."

Ewan McGregor: 'Star Wars' Is "Tedious"

Star Wars star Ewan McGregor finds filming the sc-fi trilogy "tedious." Despite the films propelling him to Hollywood A-list status, the Scottish actor admits he's dreading reprising his role as Obi Wan Kenobi when shooting for the third movie begins in Sydney, Australia, in four weeks time. McGregor explains, "They're hard films to make - as an actor you're called upon to act without another character there in a blue space, it's difficult. I find them very tedious to make, there's no two ways about that, they're not good fun to make." But the 32-year-old concedes there are some benefits to appearing in the hit movies. He adds, "They're good fun to be in, I like that! I like that kids come up and ask you questions about them."

Gellar Slammed by 'Buffy' Co-Star

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has been slammed by her former Buffy The Vampire Slayer co-star Alyson Hannigan - for failing to tell cast members she was quitting the show. Gellar announced in February the show would come to an end just weeks later, so she could concentrate on her marriage to Hollywood hunk Freddie Prinze Jr. But Hannigan is still angry she had to find out the news from the press. She says of the announcement, "It wasn't that big of a surprise, but finding out from a magazine article - that sucked. I'm really upset that that's the way the cast and crew found out they would be unemployed." And American Pie star Hannigan has yet to receive an apology from Gellar, adding, "She hasn't said anything."

J.Lo Schedule KO's Wedding Plans

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly halted their wedding plans yet again - this time because J.Lo's schedule doesn't allow room for the nuptials. The Maid In Manhattan stunner is too busy filming with Richard Gere on Shall We Dance? to make room for her own big day. A pal confides to Pagesix.Com, "Everyone thought she would get married this summer. But then her (work) schedule kept filling up, so it's not happening - yet." However, her Jersey Girl co-star beau has his own plans afoot. He has replaced his long-time publicist David Pollick for politically connected Ken Sunshine - intensifying speculation that he is to make a move into politics.

Britney and Skechers Settle Lawsuit Over Skates

Britney Spears and shoe company Skechers Usa have agreed to drop their dueling lawsuits over an endorsement deal which put the pop beauty's name on roller skates. In its lawsuit, Britney Brands claimed Skechers advertised the singer's signature line of skates when those skates - for which she receives royalties - weren't for sale, meaning consumers had to buy Skechers' own brand instead. Skechers countered the next day with its own lawsuit, charging that Spears failed to approve manufacturers and designs for her line of skates - Britney 4 Wheelers - causing it to miss sales in late 2002. US District judge A Howard Matz last week approved a two- sentence order to dismiss the lawsuits. The financial terms of the settlement have not been disclosed in court papers.

Mike Myers Urges Tourists To Visit Toronto

Comedian Mike Myers is urging Americans to visit his native Toronto, Canada - insisting SARS is not a threat in the city. Myers says Canadians rallied in support of the United States and traveled to New York after the September 11 terrorist attacks - and now it's time for Americans to return the favor. He says, "I'm not organizing anything like that, but I'm saying Toronto is safe." The World Health Organization and the Centers For Disease Control have said the city is safe for travelers, but it's still getting "a little bit of a bad rap" in the media, says the 39 year-old Austin Powers star. Myers adds, "You're more than welcome to come, and it's completely safe. I just want us all to support Canada." Toronto's convention and tourism industry was hurt after SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) was diagnosed in the city and the WHO issued a warning on non-essential travel to the city. The warning was lifted April 30.

Stones Gig Cancelled

Wrinkly rockers The Rolling Stones have canceled a concert in the Serbian capital Belgrade because of security concerns The hitmakers decided their safety could be at risk after the assassination of the country's prime minister Zoran Djindjic in March. Maksa Catovic, chief manager of the Belgrade-based Komuna agency, which booked the group, said the band first informed them the concert was off only days after Djindjic was killed. Komuna, backed by the Serbian government and some Western embassies, then tried to persuade them to change their mind but lawyers for the group "informed us today that the concert is definitely canceled," Catovic said. Serbian authorities declared a state of emergency after Djindjic was killed and launched a major sweep against an underworld clan they accused of masterminding the killing. The emergency measures were abolished in April, but tensions still persist. The concert was to be held on August 2, as part of the Stones' current world tour.
