Keanu Reeves' Stunt Agony

The stunt experience Keanu Reeves picked up shooting The Matrix proved to be a negative factor when making the sequels - because he had to take on ever tougher tasks. Reeves, who reprises his role as Neo in The Matrix Reloaded, admits it was a mistake for him to speak out about the stunts he was able to take on, because fight choreographer Yuen Wo Ping and director brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski decided to work him even harder. He says, "Because of the experience of the first one, I had some body memory. I could pick up choreography quicker and I knew where I was with the wire work. But once I said, 'Okay, I know how to do this, ' Wo Ping would go, 'Well how about this?' and the brothers were like, 'And how about this?' and so on. It was backflips and cartwheels." The end result left Reeves spending many evenings in ice baths. He adds, "You're basically tearing micro muscle tissue every day. So you get inflammation. And I'm 38 years old. I'm not 22 and bouncing around."

Brody Relives Halle Berry Kiss

Actor Adrien Brody relived his passionate Academy Awards kiss with Halle Berry during a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) - by locking lips with a male co-star. The star of The Pianist, who stunned and delighted audiences when he shared an impromptu kiss with Berry after scooping the coveted Best Actor Oscar in March, gave his co-stars - and an audience member - the same treatment when he took to the stage as guest host on the popular sketch show on Saturday. Brody ran to kiss SNL regular Maya Rudolph and then a member of the audience, before locking lips with actor Horatio Sanz. The actor also took a moment out to thank his mother Sylvia Plachy for her support, telling her, "Mom, I'm really happy you're with me tonight. She was my date to the Academy Awards, she was there at the Golden Globes, she was there to cheer me on. And I'm so happy you're here with me mom." And Sylvia, who was in the audience, raised laughs when she fired back, "You know Adrien, you'll have to learn to go to these things on your own. You're 30 years old, you can't go everywhere with your mother!"

Star Couple for West End

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are to star together in a London West End play. The superstar couple will appear in a production of Noel Coward's Private Lives next year. They will play divorcees who are reunited while honeymooning in the same hotel with their new spouses. The pair have previously worked together in the 2000 film Traffic and they recently announced their second joint big screen project, the Stephen Frears- directed Monkeyface, which will start filming this autumn. Oscar-winner Zeta-Jones - who gave birth last month to the couple's second child, daughter Carys - was a frequent face in London's West End district before becoming a movie actress. For Douglas, however, it will be his first time treading the boards since leaving college in the 1960s.

Arnie's Film Career Terminated by Politics?

Terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is threatening to give up his Hollywood career in favor of politics. The hardman has finished filming much-awaited sequel T-3: Rise Of The Machines, which features his android character battling a super robot played by Kristanna Loken. But the action movie - which comes twelve years after the second in the sci-fi series - may be Arnie's last because of his political ambitions. He says, "If I run for office, obviously I will discontinue the films. I've been thinking about it and I've met with the President's people about doing an afterschool program summit at the White House." Meanwhile Arnie, 55, hopes that T-3 will take him out on a high and admires his tough female co-star. Talking about the film, he adds, "I think it's very entertaining because here you have a woman that is meant to be much more sophisticated than my model is, so that's an interesting concept."

Nolte's Acting Class from Brando

Screen star Nick Nolte had a strange experience taking acting lessons from Marlon Brando - because he watched as the screen legend smeared on make-up. Nolte is one of the lucky few who have had the opportunity to benefit from the teachings of the star of The Godfather - but he admits the methods used were rather unconventional. He recalls, "Marlon had this class. He just talked really. He put on lipstick at one point, then asked if any of us had an eyebrow pencil. Point was, actors need to be willing to make fools of themselves, and here he was doing it."

Halle Berry's Intruder Terror

Sexy actress Halle Berry was left terrified on the set of her new movie Gothika - when an intruder tried to barge his way into her luxury rented house. The Oscar-winning beauty, who stars alongside Spanish actress Penelope Cruz in the film, was reportedly lying half-naked on a table during a massage session when a trespasser came banging on the back door of her temporary home in Montreal, Canada. When approached by 36-year-old Halle and her masseuse, the potential intruder ran away, but the Monster's Ball actress was so shaken up she left her mansion and moved into the same hotel as Penelope. Westmount Constable Gilles La Mar says, "The person didn't gain entry, no one was harmed and nothing was taken." Police suspect the intruder could have been a burglar casing the residence, which had been empty before it was rented to screen stunner Berry. Halle, who has been without husband Eric Benet during filming, rented the deluxe digs because she wanted a backyard for her two white dogs, but as soon as the cops left she packed up and moved out. She has also hired an extra bodyguard.

Nicholson Incites Lakers Victory

Jack Nicholson has been praised for staging a basketball courtside tantrum on Friday night - because his dramatics fired up his team. The Los Angeles Lakers management and players are thanking their number one celebrity fan for his show of passion. The movie star jumped up from his regular seat at Staples Center and screamed at official Mark Wunderlich's decision to penalize his favorite player Shaquille O'Neal. The official warned security that if Nicholson threw another tantrum, he was to be asked to leave. But the Lakers, who were playing against arch-rivals San Antonio Spurs, were delighted with Jack's fury. Coach Phil Jackson says, "He really fired the crowd up and they really got behind us after that. He really knows how to act. I'd give him an Oscar for that performance." And after a double Lakers win following Jack's anger mismanagement, star player O'Neal adds, "Jack's like a lucky charm. He really knows how to get the crowd behind us." The Lakers are now 2-2 with the Spurs. The fifth game in the best-of-seven series will be held in San Antonio Tuesday.

Michael Jackson Files Suit Against Motown

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has filed a suit against his old record label Motown for unpaid royalties. The 44-year-old singer claims Motown, and its parent company Universal Music Group, owes him millions of dollars in royalties from when he performed with his siblings and his solo work. The Jackson 5 have an extensive body of work and, according to the lawsuit, the group agreed it wasn't entitled to royalties for any track recorded before 1976. But the Jackson camp says Motown should pay up if any of their songs were re- released or put on a greatest hits album. The suit also claims Motown exploited the name Jackson 5 without permission in areas like, "TV commercials, radio advertisements... for products unrelated to plaintiff's musical recordings." The record label's conduct, according to the suit, was, "willful and intentional and done with fraud oppression and malice." It's not the first time Michael Jackson has had a squabble with a record label. Just last year, Jackson lashed out at Sony, claiming it failed to properly promote his last album, Invincible, which had disappointing sales.

Renee Falls for Ewan McGregor

Hollywood actress Renee Zellweger has found her ideal man - married co- star Ewan McGregor. The Chicago star and Scottish actor Ewan are currently starring in new movie Down With Love together. And the unlucky-in-love actress - whose previous squeezes include George Clooney and Jim Carrey - confesses she's somewhat fallen for the hunky star's charms. Renee coos, "For years I've been going, 'Where's Ewan McGregor? What's he doing? Is he making this? Is there a girl? What kind of girl?' We've been friends for a long time, but I've been his fan even longer. Now I really can't wait to find something else to do with him." Sadly for the Texan thespian, Ewan is happily married to wife of eight years Eve Makrakis.

Carol Channing Marries Childhood Love at 82

Broadway star Carol Channing has proved that love never dies - by marrying her childhood sweetheart at the age of 82. The Hello Dolly musical actress was reunited with her schoolyard love Harry Kullijian, 83, after his pal read her autobiography and passed her message of love onto Kullijian, who thought Channing had died. The octogenarian two were wed in San Francisco on Saturday before around three dozen family and friends. Kullijian says, "She still had the same spark. I just knew it was the right thing to do." In her book, Just Lucky, I Guess, which reunited the pair, Channing wrote, "The leader of the school band was Harry Kullijian. I was so in love with Harry; I couldn't stop hugging him." The Aptos Junior High School sweethearts had their burgeoning relationship ended by Channing's mother, who believed her daughter was too forward. But after meeting up again this February, Channing and Kullijian quickly set a date to re-affirm their love. It is Channing's fourth marriage and Kullijian's second.
