'Chicago' Dominates SAG Nominations
Demi Finds a Toyboy in Colin

Actress Demi Moore is dating Irish hunk Colin Farrell. The Hollywood beauty, 40, has been secretly seeing Minority Report star Farrell for a week. According to British newspaper The Sun, a source says, "Demi has told pals it's the start of a hot relationship." Farrell, 26, met mum of three Demi a week ago at a hotel party following the Golden Globe awards in Los Angeles. The insider adds, "Demi was very keen to meet Colin. They were introduced and after a while they looked very intimate. By the end of the night they were kissing. They have been speaking regularly on the phone since." Farrell last year starred with Demi's ex-husband Bruce Willis in the film Hart's War.
Douglas and Zeta-Jones Lose First Battle
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have failed in their bid to strike out the defense case in their forthcoming privacy trial. The Hollywood couple are seeking damages from Hello! magazine after it published photographs of their November 2000 wedding even though they'd already sold exclusive rights to the bash to rival OK! for more than $3 million. Douglas, 58, and Zeta-Jones, 34, claimed Hello! had interfered in the course of justice by making earlier statements to the court of appeal in Britain. But while the judge at Britain's High Court, Sir Andrew Morritt, criticized the magazine's conduct, he ruled the trial would still be fair. The case is due to go to court next Monday but could now be delayed if Douglas and Zeta-Jones decide to appeal yesterday's ruling. Hello! claims it was offered the pictures on the open market and was entitled to print them.
Lawyer: Reubens' Porn Is Historical
Pee-Wee Herman star Paul Reubens shouldn't face a child pornography charge because his collection of erotica is historical, his lawyer is arguing. California's child pornography law does not apply to the images and film in the case because they were produced decades earlier, said Blair Berk in a motion filed Friday. Some of the images are from the turn o f the 20th century, according to the document. The document says officers seized "well over 30,000 images and more than 650 hours of film" from Reuben's home in November 2001. It says authorities have identified items in one book, 25 magazines and one film that allegedly violate California's child pornography statute. The motion described the collection as, "A vast and valuable historical collection of artwork, kitsch memorabilia and adult erotica." Reubens, 50, has pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor count of possessing material depicting children under 18 engaging in sexual conduct. He is free on $20,000 bail. The charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Jude and Sadie to Work Together to Save Marriage

Acting couple Jude Law and Sadie Frost are battling to save their troubled marriage by working together on a movie. The pair will co-produce the big-budget vehicle World Of Tomorrow, in which Jude will also star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow. Friends say it is the couple's last attempt to save their ailing relationship and admit they are concerned for Sadie, who has reportedly been involved in a suicide scare. Their marriage has been beset by problems in recent months. Jude's acting work has kept them apart and the couple have also had a string of rows since their two-year-old daughter Iris needed hospital treatment after eating an ecstasy tablet she allegedly found on the floor at a private party in London's Soho House. Sadie also admitted she was suffering from post-natal depression following the birth of her fourth child, Rudy, in September. Sadie, who was reportedly admitted to hospital in Los Angeles recently with injuries to her wrists, flew back from the US to Britain alone on Sunday. Sadie's spokeswoman Mina Khera says, "There have been problems with their marriage. This is mainly due to the fact that they hardly spent any time at all with each other last year. But they do both want to try to make it work and things have been a lot healthier since they had a holiday in Thailand over Christmas and the new year. Working on a film together is just what they need as they will be able to spend time with each other." World Of Tomorrow, described as a science-fiction answer to Raiders Of The Lost Ark, begins shooting in London in March.
Wedding Bells for Brolin and Lane
Unfaithful star Diane Lane is planning to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend Josh Brolin. And most happy with the news is Brolin's stepmother Barbra Streisand - because she's the one who got them together at a party last spring. A source tells American tabloid the Star, "Diane and Josh are getting really serious. They're telling friends marriage could be right around the corner. And no one is surprised. They're amazing together." A pal of Brolin says of the actor, "He says he knows he's got a great girl, and he doesn't want to lose her. We're just waiting for him to make it official." Diane, 38, has a nine-year-old daughter, Eleanor, from her six-year marriage to Highlander star Christopher Lambert, and Josh, 34, is divorced from actress Deborah Adair, the mother of his son Trevor, 14, and daughter Eden, eight. Josh was previously engaged to Good Will Hunting beauty Minnie Driver.
Crowe Keeps BAFTA Waiting

Hollywood star Russell Crowe is poised to snub organizers of this year's BAFTA awards. The Gladiator star has been invited to present an award at next month's ceremony - the British equivalent of the Academy Awards. But BAFTA sources say Crowe is keeping them waiting and refusing to confirm he'll appear. The actor caused chaos at last year's bash, attacking a TV producer after his poem - he read during his acceptance speech after picking up the Best Actor for A Beautiful Mind - was edited from television coverage. But it seems even the opportunity to treat Britain to another poetry recital may not be enough to convince Crowe to accept the invitation. A source tells gossip site The Scoop, "The fact is, he has been invited back to present an award. But we don't know if he's coming. He hasn't let us know yet."
Spielberg Spreads the Word of Tolerance
Steven Spielberg has launched a contest aimed at promoting tolerance through cultural integration in Germany. The Schindler's List director believes the September 11 attacks and problems in the Middle East highlight the need for children to be schooled in understanding other cultures. The contest requires children to put together multi-media presentations that promote understanding between countries, cultures or religions. Spielberg says, "We've been at the brink of many world crises ever since the Holocaust, and this is one more crisis. But the need for tolerance education has always existed." The Catch Me If You Can mastermind was praised by German minister Edelgard Buhlman for his other works through the Shoah Visual History Foundation which has recorded the testimonies of over 50,000 Holocaust survivors. Buhlman says, "It is our common responsibility to make sure that young people experience different cultures. It's one of the most important contributions to our future." Spielberg, who set up the foundation in 1994, adds, " Schindler's List was made for a reason...because the Shoah Foundation had to come into existence."
Keanu's Kind Gesture

Generous actor Keanu Reeves has sacrificed a massive $38 million to prevent the two new Matrix films being scrapped. The Speed hunk gave up his claim to a cut of the films' ticket sales when producers began fearing the box office would not cover the costs of making the special effects-laden flicks. The gesture is one of the most generous ever in Hollywood and has stunned studio bosses. A Warner Bros. insider says, "The special effects in the new movie are beyond belief - but hugely expensive. There was a real danger the projects would be scrapped until Keanu offered to sign away his cut. He has kissed goodbye to a huge sum of money." Keanu was paid $10 million for the first Matrix movie in 1999 and picked up a further $35 million as his cut of worldwide box office sales.
Affleck Says It with Flowers

Actor Matt Damon is once again coming between best pal Ben Affleck and his fiancee Jennifer Lopez. According to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, Damon inadvertently sparked a row between soon-to-be-wed pair Affleck and Lopez - and the argument eventually cost Affleck $3,000. The pair had a row over the weekend at the Sundance Film Festival in America when Affleck told J.Lo he wanted to go out for an evening with Damon. A source says "Ben told her that he wanted to go out on the town with his buddy Matt Damon and that he preferred it if she didn't go - and that made her furious." The pop diva is said to have replied, "If I'm not invited to go out with you and Matt then maybe I'm not the one you should be marrying. Maybe you should marry Matt." Affleck swallowed his pride and apologized to J.Lo - then splashed out $3,000 on flowers to make it up to his bride-to-be. The source says Lopez was delighted with the flowers and adds, "Jennifer loves pink roses, so that's what Ben sent her."
Diva Britney Enrages Redford

Pop diva Britney Spears made herself very unpopular with Robert Redford at the Sundance Film Festival last week by her rude behavior. Spears, who was at the independent film event in order to make more cinematic contacts to boost her big screen career, attended a screening of the new Holly Hunter movie Levity and made her presence felt. During the film, Britney and her huge entourage chatted loudly and talked on cell phones and committed the ultimate faux-pas - they left before the movie ended. An eyewitness, who observed Redford scowling at the star, says "If looks could kill. Britney would be the deadest pop star in the world."
'Superman' Slams Scientology
Superman star Christopher Reeve has hit out at the controversial Scientology cult - claiming he opted out of becoming a member because he was "skeptical" about its authenticity. The faith, founded by L. Ron Hubbard, has a huge following in the US, and is promoted vigorously by a number of Hollywood names including Tom Cruise and John Travolta. But Reeve says his experiences with Scientology left him cold. In his autobiography Nothing Is Impossible the paralyzed star describes how he underwent "auditing" sessions during which he was quizzed about his past, drug history and forced to take part in a lie-detector test. Reeve says he became so "skeptical" about the process he told a deliberate lie to the "e-meter" lie detector - and got away with it. An excerpt from the book, quoted on gossip site The Scoop, reads, "The fact that I got away with a blatant fabrication completely devalued my belief in the process. It's refreshing to find a celebrity that isn't another annoying Hollywood cliché, constantly promoting some leader, special mentor or weird group." Reeve's outburst has prompted Cultnews.Com - a website that campaigns against destructive and harmful religious organizations - to note, "It seems Scientology has more to learn from Superman than he ever could have take n in from its endless courses and 'auditing.'"
