Michael Jackson "Top of 2002's Losers"

Pop superstar Michael Jackson's troubled year has concluded on an even more sour note - he's been branded 2002's biggest loser. The Thriller singer has beat the likes of George Michael, Robert Blake and 'N Sync star Lance Bass to the top spot in a chart put together by American magazine People. Jackson, whose most recent controversy stemmed from him holding his baby son Prince Michael II over the balcony of a German hotel last month, has also come under attack for his branding Sony boss Tommy Mottola a racist, taking his two oldest children to the zoo wearing veils and his apparently-disintegrating nose. The full top 10 is as follows: 1. Michael Jackson; 2. George Michael; 3. Trent Lott; 4. Lance Bass; 5. Liza Minnelli & David Gest; 6. Princess Anne; 7. Janet Reno; 8. Phil Donahue; 9. Rob Lowe; 10. Robert Blake

Cattrall Splits from Husband

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall has split from her husband - with whom she co-wrote a hit book about sex and relationships. The 46-year-old informed her husband of four years, Mark Levinson, that he should move out of their New York home after returning from a recent business trip - because he had become too obsessed with sex. New York Post columnist Cindy Adams reports, "Three weeks ago, Levinson made a business trip aboard. When he returned, his wife told him to start packing again. That it was all over between them. He is now living elsewhere. He prompted her to be a part of writing, directing, pictorializing, acting out, proving, rehearsing and then promoting their book last year, Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm. Friends intimate his passion was for Kim Cattrall the actress, not necessarily for Kim Levinson the real woman. His future idea was for Kim to make a sex documentary. Also on his docket, a second follow-up book of sexual satisfaction. A sort of 'How To Do It Part 2'."

Kerr Beating Parkinson's

Hollywood legend Deborah Kerr is winning her battle against Parkinson's Disease and it's all thanks to her fans. The 81-year-old star of classics like From Here To Eternity and The King And I announced she was suffering from the brain disorder earlier this year, prompting her fans to write loving letters to her in a bid to boost her morale. And her doctors claim the outpouring of support and love has helped slow down her degeneration. Her husband Peter Viertel says, "It's meant a great deal to her. The letters have cheered her up immensely. She still needs a nurse, but she's able to get out of the apartment and go for a walk. She's a lot more alert."

Reubens Axed from TV Show

Actor Paul Reubens has been sacked from a lucrative new TV role, after being arrested on child porn charges. The movie star, who is best known as high-voiced film clown Peewee Herman, was set to make his debut on hit American sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond early next year - but the show's creator and star Ray Romano has vetoed his appearance. A set insider says, "All hell broke loose on the set when word of Reuben's bust got out. Ray Romano hit the roof. He screamed, 'No way is he going to appear on my show. America would think I've lost my mind.'" Reubens is set to be arraigned early next year following his arrest after a November police raid on his home.

Tarantino to Bring Back the Vega Brothers?

Quentin Tarantino is planning to unite two characters from his two biggest films in a spectacular new movie. The director wants to combine Vincent Vega - played by John Travolta - and Vic Vega - Michael Madsen's character in Reservoir Dogs - for a prequel to both films, called The Vega Brothers. A Hollywood source says, "Expect the charm to come from Travolta and the crazy stuff from Madsen. It will follow the pair's exploits around a club they own, set in the late eighties." According to insiders Tarantino - who is working on current project Kill Bill - hopes to finish writing The Vega Brothers early next year, ready for a summer shoot.

Rehab Pals for Kathleen

Blonde bombshell Kathleen Turner confronted a friendly face when she entered rehab recently. The 48-year-old Romancing the Stone and Jewel Of The Nile star checked into Marworth, Pennsylvania earlier this month in order to battle her booze and painkiller addiction. There she "hugged and kissed" The Birds actress Tippi Hedren, who tours rehab clinics with daughter Melanie Griffith to encourage patients to stay clean. Griffith, 45, has also struggled with substance and alcohol problems throughout her career.

Tim Allen to Wed

The Santa Clause 2 actor Tim Allen is set to propose to his girlfriend this Christmas. Pals of the former Home Improvement star, 49, say that he plans to give his belle of three years, 26-year-old personal trainer Jane Hadjuk, a wedding ring this Yuletide season. A pal tells American tabloid the Star, "Tim is definitely crazy about Jane. He says she's the one, and he wants to marry her. Tim's the marrying kind, and he looks forward to slipping a wedding ring on Jane's finger within a year. When that happens, it will be like Christmas every day for him."

Billy Elliot in Love

Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell has fallen for a girl from his hometown. The 16-year-old star has been seeing Sheryl McNally, a 17-year-old who lives on a council estate in Teeside, in the north east of England. Jamie says, "I love the way she deals with my work stuff - and discards it. She keeps me grounded." Though Sheryl's lifestyle may be very different to the glamorous star-studded life that Jamie leads, the couple are very happy. A friend says, "They're very serious about each other. Jamie's absolutely besotted with her and very happy. They're both local teenagers who mix in the same circles. She's helping him keep his feet on the ground."

Drew Skydives to Overcome Flying Fears

Drew Barrymore has faced her fears of flying by jumping out of an airplane at 14,000ft. The actress admits she still gets terrified when she has to fly, but she can cope with her fears so much better thanks to a spot of skydiving. She reveals, "I jumped out with this guy on my back and all I kept thinking is, 'Is it possible to have a heart attack, can you die by sheer fear? And how long is it humanly possible to hold one's breath?' Then the instructor behind me yelled, 'We got a good shoot.' I was like, 'What else is there?' I think I'd do it again."

Bing Won't See Son

Millionaire Steve Bing has decided to cut all contact from his son Damian - leaving Elizabeth Hurley to bring up the babe on her own. Distance and time have hindered Bing's contact with the eight-month-old, so he now thinks it would be better to stay out of his life for good. The businessman has, however, invested $2.7 million into a trust fund for his son. According to Britain's News of the World newspaper, a source says, "Elizabeth has always made it very clear to Steve that she is prepared to put their differences behind them and put Damian first. But Steve has no interest in seeing Damian and has turned down all invitations to do so, even when Liz has been five minutes away from him in LA. It's pretty unreasonable, and pathetic even, to use distance as an excuse for not seeing his son as Steve is rich and charters planes all the time. It would be nothing for Steve to fly himself to where Damian is and Elizabeth and Damian are frequently in America." A pal says, "Steve doesn't see any point in being a part-time, long-distance father. He says if Liz won't bring his son to Los Angeles to live, it is better if he just stays out of his life."
