Luke And Laura Divorce

First it was Nicole and Tom, then Heath and Heather, now Luke and Laura are officially splitting up. In 1981, over 30 million viewers tuned in to General Hospital to see Genie Francis and Tony Geary's characters tie the knot in one of TV's most anticipated weddings, setting a daytime TV ratings record. Now, just short of 20 years later, Reuters reports that a special episode of General Hospital will air next Monday, featuring the divorce of soapdom's most famous couple. According to GH's home network, ABC, Francis and Geary will remain on the show following the on-air divorce. (This story was compiled by IMDb staff)

Ursula Andress Voted Sexiest Bond Girl Ever

Ursula Andress has been voted the sexiest Bond girl ever, 39 years after she starred in DR. NO. Film fans decided the shot of Andress emerging from the sea wearing a white bikini and carrying commando knife in the first 007 movie set a standard that all other Bond girls have failed to live up to. In the survey, conducted by movie magazine Hotdog, Andress emerged a clear winner, beating off her sexy competitors to take first place. Runner up was Ringo Starr's wife Barbara Bach, for her role as sultry Soviet agent Major Anya Amosaova in The Spy Who Loved Me. In the number three spot was Denise Richards, who starred alongside Pierce Brosnan's Bond in the latest 007 movie The World Is Not Enough.

Doherty Gets Speaking Gigs Over Jail

Actress Shannen Doherty was sentenced Tuesday to either 10 days in jail or 20 days of work-release duty, after she pleaded no contest to drunk-driving charges. Doherty, 30, was arrested in December after she was pulled over for allegedly weaving across a Southern California highway. Doherty, who didn't show up for the sentencing, was ordered to pay $1,500 in fines and was put on three years' probation. She's also not allowed to drive with any alcohol in her system, and she'll have to attend a series of Dui classes. The real sticking point was over what kind of community service the actress would be allowed to perform, instead of jail time. Prosecutors pushed for a standard punishment - which would include Doherty doing the always-enjoyable roadside trash pickup. Judge Charles Campbell ultimately agreed to let her work off some of the time by doing speaking engagements at teen centers and meetings for Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Bill Clinton Refused His Snake

Former American President Bill Clinton stunned drinkers in an English pub when he popped in for lunch and ordered a pint of Snakebite. Clinton wanted the lethal mix of cider and lager to go with his steak and ale pie but landlord Jamie Allen refused to serve him the mind-blowing concoction. Allen told Clinton that he could lose his licence for serving him the drink to which the ex-President replied, "That's a shame - it would have brought out my true personality." Jamie, 28, landlord of the Old Bell Tavern in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, says, "I told him maybe that was something I didn't want to see. He burst out laughing. "He tried a few real ales then settled for a Coke" Clinton was attending a nearby business conference. Before he settled on the pub for lunch, his aides conducted a thorough search of the premises.

Martina Hingis Sues Over Tight Shoes

Tennis ace Martina Hingis is suing a sports firm for $35 million - because she claims her shoes gave her sore feet. The world number one claims shoe supplier Ergio Tacchini ruined her feet and forced her to drop out of Wimbledon. Hingis cut short a five year, $5.4 million deal with the Italian sports clothing firm, claiming it had given her "defective" shoes "unsuitable for competition". The 20-year-old Swiss player was also forced to pull out of the Us Open in New York in 1998 with a foot injury, according to papers she has filed with Manhattan's State Supreme Court. In 1999 she pulled out of Wimbledon because of her injured feet. Tacchini fired Hingis as a spokeswoman in April 1999, claiming she had failed to wear their gear at a charity event and a Tacchini hat in a tournament. Hingis, who is hotly tipped to win this year's Wimbledon championships, is estimated to be worth around $84 million.

Downey Sr.: My Son Will Beat Drugs

Robert Downey is every step of the way behind his son Robert Downey Jr. - he knows the troubled actor will stay clean. Film director Downey has witnessed his son's many 'falls off the wagon', including his recent arrest for being 'under the influence of a controlled substance' in April. Downey Sr. hopes by using nutritional supplements, his son will fight his addiction, saying, "I spoke to Robert a few days ago, he said he's up for it if we can put it together. I have a lot of hope. If he can stay focused and beat this, he can help himself and a lot of other people through his example." Downey is hoping his son will go through therapy using amino acids and herbal supplements to boost his dopamine levels, which are often impaired in addicts. The 64-year-old is keeping his fingers crossed, and adds, "His blood needs to be tested to see if this is appropriate. But in a third of cases, this works for people with addictions like his."

Calista's Son Changed Her Life

Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart's adoption of baby son Liam was the best thing she ever did. The actress took on the child earlier this year and insists it has made her more tolerant. She says, "It really changes who you are. It changes your heart. It's made me tolerant of things I wasn't tolerant of before. It's a miracle. I am in love with my child in a way that I have truly never been in love before. I can't explain it, but it's something that I am really happy that I didn't miss. I worry about being a single parent, and I worry about all the issues you have when you have a child."

Simon West Warns Angelina Jolie Her Life Will Never Be The Same

British director Simon West was stunned to discover how many fans had trekked across America for the premiere of Tomb Raider - and warns Angelina Jolie her life will never be the same again. Hundreds of screaming fans lined the streets of Westwood, Los Angeles from six o'clock in the morning, desperate for a glimpse of their hero Jolie. And delighted as West was with the turn out, he fears Angelina Jolie will carry the Lara Croft fame around for the rest of her life. He says, "It's fantastic, it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Usually you're on your own up to your eyes in muck and bugs and now there's a million people wanting to see the film. I think Angelina's life is going to change. She is Lara Croft now, she's going to be in trouble."

Mr. T Wary Of Women After His Fame

Mr. T is wary of women approaching him now that he's making a comeback. The cancer survivor admits his love life is on the up since he started appearing in a series of phone commercials - but he insists he's not interested in the attention. He says, "When I got cancer, all the so-called chicks, all the fine honeys, they wasn't around. The only ones coming around were the ones hoping 'Okay maybe I can get some money out of him before he dies.' But now it's like, 'He's coming back? Mr. T, how are you doing?' We got to get together, I miss you.' Now they wanna call me I ain't got time for them."

Muhammad Ali Refuses To Watch Daughter Fight Frazier's Daughter

Muhammad Ali won't be cheering his daughter on when she fights Joe Frazier's daughter - because he hates seeing her get hurt. Ali was initially against his daughter Laila following him into the boxing ring, because he felt it wasn't the place for a girl. And although he's now supporting her choices, the infamous boxing giant still doesn't like watching her perform in the ring. He says, "I hope she doesn't get hurt. But she's fierce and I've decided to join her in her decision. I want to help her. But women are not physically constructed to take a blow to their breasts. I won't go to see it. Laila is only 22, she should be able to beat her, and I'm going to help her. Joe Frazier is going to help his daughter too."
