Meg Ryan And Dennis Quaid Still To Divorce

Meg Ryan's father Harry Hyra is insisting "there will be no reconciliation" between Meg and estranged husband Dennis Quaid. Newspapers have been reporting that the pair had patched up their differences after Ryan's relationship with Russell Crowe failed to show any longevity. And Ryan had allegedly run back into the arms of Quaid, the father of her 7-year-old son, and begged for his forgiveness. But Ryan's dad insists he "found out the truth" when he put in a call to the Hollywood actress demanding to know if the couple had put their differences aside. Hyra says, "I read about it in the paper. I thought, because it said they were back together, that it must be true. I was really happy and excited for them and of course for my grandson, Jack... But Meg said it wasn't true. She told me there would not be a reconciliation and that she had spent sometime in Los Angeles with Dennis for Jack's sake. So I was happy and sad all in the space of a really short time. She said the divorce was still going ahead."

Salma Hayek Needs A Strong Man Who Can Give Her Lots Of Sex

Mexican actress Salma Hayek needs a man who is strong enough to handle her personality. The beauty currently dating Edward Norton, needs a man who can deal with her sexual demands and her dominating personality. She says, "I come from a strict Catholic upbringing and sex was a taboo subject. That makes you crave sex 10 times more for the rest of your life... I love strong men and I like to feel that there's a high level of sexual chemistry in a relationship... I'm a strong woman and that intimidates a lot of men who'd rather feel that they're the boss in a relationship, rather than in a partnership."

Natalie Portman Falls For Star Wars Co-Star

Natalie Portman has reportedly fallen in love - with her Star Wars: Episode II (2002) co-star Hayden Christensen. Christensen won the coveted part of Anakin Skywalker in the second prequel after an initially unconvinced George Lucas - who thought he was too young for the part - was bowled over by his red- hot screen-test with Portman, who is returning to her role as Queen Amidala. Online sources report that the pair are crazy about each other and are getting in some useful practice for their on-screen love scenes.

Ewan Mcgregor To Play John Lennon?

Producers of a new film about Beatles legend John Lennon are desperately trying to sign up Ewan McGregor to play the murdered star. The filmmakers believe the Scottish actor would be the ideal man to portray the singer in the film about his relationship with wife Yoko Ono. Ewan has already demonstrated his singing talents in glam-rock film the Velvet Goldmine (1998) and Life Less Ordinary, A (1997) where he did a duet with co-star Cameron Diaz in a rendition of Bobby Darin's classic tune Beyond the Sea.

Verhoeven Calls Sharon Stone A Liar And A Nightmare

Director Paul Verhoeven is refusing to take on the sequel to smash hit Basic Instinct (1992) because star Sharon Stone is a "liar". Stone is reported to be desperate to work with the Dutch director but he is refusing to get involved with the sequel because sexy Stone is "a nightmare" to work with. He says, "I have expressed little interest because the first one was so hard to make." He says Stone's claim that she didn't know about the infamous shot of between her legs is a lie. He explains, "Sharon, as much as I love her, I hate her too, especially after the lies she told the Press about the shot between her legs, which was a straight lie. I would never be able to do the sequel unless I checked out whether Sharon was still a nightmare or not. Maybe now that she has a baby, she might have settled down."

John Hannah Only Doing Mummy 2 For Free Decorations

John Hannah only agreed to star in the sequel to hit Hollywood flick Mummy, The (1999) so he could decorate his flat with free Egyptian designs. The Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) star once again teams up with Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser in Mummy Returns, The (2001) - and he's on a reported $1.5 million contract. But the 38-year-old Scot wasn't interested in the cash. He jokes, "I decorated my entire house with leftover stuff from the first Mummy film. I got a big van down to the set one day and kitted out my conservatory and bathroom... The stuff's fine as long as it doesn't rain - because it's all fake and papier mache. But, having said that, it doesn't rain inside my flat very often unless the sprinkler system goes off." Hannah is filming for the next five weeks at PINEWOOD STUDIOS outside London, playing Jonathan Carnahan - the hapless bounder who gets dragged into another fight against ancient Egyptian supernatural forces.

Wesley Snipes Gets Spiritual For Birthday

Hollywood heavyweight Wesley Snipes snubbed the offer of glitzy parties for his birthday recently - preferring to do something "spiritual and private" instead. The actor who turned 38 at the end of last month, usually has massive parties at his Los Angeles home for his birthdays. Snipes, who regularly goes on long walks with his best pal Woody Harrelson to discuss spirituality, says, "I did something really simple and spiritual this year. Usually people throw a party for me and I pay the bill. This year I did something for me. Not every birthday has to be about pomp and ceremony - this was something spiritual, but it is too spiritual for me to tell you about it. It is private."

Dame Judi's Sax Obsession

Dame Judi Dench can't put down her saxophone - after learning how to play it for new TV movie Last of the Blonde Bombshells, The (2000) (TV). The OSCAR-winning actress admits she was petrified when she first took on the role of widow Elizabeth in the BBC/HBO co-production - and discovered she'd actually have to learn to play. She says, "A sax is very heavy for one thing and takes some getting used to. I had a marvellous tutor, Cathy Stobart, and suddenly the instrument seems a part of you. "It feels like an extension of your arm. I'm now at the stage where I know all the fingering and can even play a scale on it." Dench, who teams up with Olympia Dukakis, Ian Holm, jazz star Cleo Laine and French actress Leslie Caron in the movie, says she's now hooked. She adds, "I pick it up and play for a few minutes here and there. I would like to go on playing it. I'm mad for it."
