Ryan Murphy: American Horror Story Season 7 Won't Feature Trump

19 hours ago | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Remember when Ryan Murphy revealed to the world that American Horror Story‘s forthcoming season would focus on the 2016 election? Yeah, he was just kidding about that — sort of. (It was more of an “alternative fact,” if you will.)

During the Publicists Guild Awards Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Friday, Murphy clarified that the “reveal” made on the Feb. 15 episode of Watch What Happens Live should not have been taken literally. In other words, while Season 7 might be inspired by the 2016 election, it will not include actors portraying then-candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. »

John Mulaney, Nick Kroll Rip on Trump at Film Independent Spirit Awards

44 minutes ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

John Mulaney and Nick Kroll had a chance to give it their all before being upstaged by the Academy Awards by hosting the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards.  After making fun of the awards show itself by ripping on how long the name is as well as the fact that it’s a matinee awards show, they wasted no time getting into politics.  The two biggest targets of their opening monologue were none other than Donald Trump and Mel Gibson. “We like to think of these awards as the ones without Mel Gibson,” Kroll said of the Oscar-nominated Hacksaw Ridge director.

I’d Really Like to See Sarah Butler Make It in Hollywood

1 hour ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

There was a movie on Lifetime last night called “Infidelity in Suburbia.”  I didn’t see it but from the title I’m pretty sure I get the gist of what the movie was about.  However, what I did take notice of was the movie’s star Sarah Butler.  I’ve never seen her before and I personally think she’s got “the look.”  The look I’m referring to is one of a starring role on a television show.  I liken Sarah Butler very much to Katie Lowes.  P.S. I went to high school with Katie Lowes but that’s an entirely different article.   Like Lowes,

Mother and 7-Year-Old Daughter Do Amazing Cosplay As Disney Characters

This is a cosplay story with a happy purpose not to mention quality result.  Meet little 7-year-old Layla.  Layla initially had issues with being shy until two years ago her mother helped her gain confidence.  Camilla Courts took her took her daughter to Disneyland’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and got her a dress. Their first photo came out so great that they have been cosplaying ever since.  It turns out that when Layla does cosplay it helps her “come out of her shell” and gain confidence in herself. Now the mother and daughter cosplay duo have an Instagram following of close

If The Academy Awards Really Wants to Send a Message to Donald Trump

3 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

One of the bigger stories to come out of the Academy Awards this year is something that has nothing to do with the awards show itself.  It was actually the skipping of an Oscars party by some celebrities to attend an immigration policy protest.  Jodie Foster and Michael J. Fox led the rally and spoke in front of thousands of people in support of protesting Trump’s proposed immigration ban.  That got me thinking.  While all the news you’re going to see today will be dedicated to Academy Awards stories, us included, and rehashing some Oscars memories, here’s an idea for

A Fantastic Bill Gates Customer Service Call from Microsoft in 1989

4 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Well before Undercover Boss ever existed, Bill Gates was monitoring his company Microsoft like a hawk.  Little did people know just how involved Gates was in the day to day operations of the company.  Like any good CEO, Gates wanted to understand every single facet of what was going on in the company.  Some CEOs focus only on top level priorities like reporting to the shareholders or overall company strategy.  Not Gates. In 1989 Bill Gates decided to take a customer service call only referring to himself as “William.”    He solved the issue and the same customer called back specifically

Jared Padalecki Wants to Play Nightwing and New Fan Art Emerges

5 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Now that a Nightwing feature film is being talked about to no end, there’s all kinds of speculation out there as to who might play the hero.  Yesterday we found out that in a recent fan poll, people wanted Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play the part.  I argued against it and still agree with my stance.  While I’m sure he’d nail the role, he just doesn’t need it for his career right now.   However, a new name has emerged today:  Jared Padalecki. When asked straight up by a fan on Twitter whether Padalecki would like to play the character, he responded

This Guy Will Always Be Immortalized as Tom Cruise in Thailand

I have no idea who either of these guys are but the one on the right has my utmost respect.  For the rest of his life people will say, “Remember that time someone pretended to be Tom Cruise in a small chicken shop in North Eastern Thailand and is remembered there forever?”  I mean seriously.  I have goals in my life but I’m pretty sure if I were remembered as Tom Cruise holding a piece of meat like that my life goals would easily be complete. The next time I go on a trip I’m really hoping a local poultry

If you look at your steering wheel, to the left side of it there’s your turn signal.  When you push it down something pretty cool

Questions From Karate Kid III: What Kind of Painting Company is This?

9 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

You might remember our last Karate Kid III question which involved a totally screwed up timeline.   We pondered how it was even possible that at what had to be at least 1am, Daniel would roll into John Kreese’s dojo only to find Terry Silver, John Kreese, and Matt “bad boy” Barnes all there waiting for him.  I mean this was just too coincidental.  What proceeds from there is Danny boy getting his non belt wearing tootsies kicked and Mr. Miyagi having to bail him out. Miyagi takes on Kreese and Silver almost simultaneously.  This is the infamous “Whaaaaa, Whaaaaaa” scene

A Supercut of Every Best Cinematography Winner Ever at the Oscars

Earlier today we brought you a great montage of clips from every single best winner for animated feature.  Right now we’re bringing you a montage of clips from every film that’s won best cinematography.  Next to the writing, directing, and acting of a film, cinematography ranks right up there with music, editing, special effects.  I consider these to be the second tier elements that make or break a movie. When it comes to cinematography, a viewer isn’t necessarily supposed to be taken “out of the movie” to watch the scenery but at the same time movies contain such magical landscapes

Be Warned: Meryl Streep’s Oscars Dress is News Right Now

As we prepare for the Oscars I feel that it’s important to mention that it’s not just the awards themselves that are big business.  Over the last decade or so, the red carpet itself has become a huge business.  With avenues like E! covering the event every year, the red carpet pre-game show is sometimes as popular if not more than the event itself.  The question “who are you wearing” has become synonymous with big time events like this.  So while I can sit here and complain that I think it’s ridiculous that it’s a big deal what people wear

Little Girl’s Wonder Woman Invisible Jet Cosplay Is Adorable

I happen to be a huge fan of when parents involve their kids in creative cosplay.  Not only is it cute but there are times children bring in elements to the equation that simply cannot be matched by their older and adult parents.  That brings us to today’s cosplay.   You have to admit that this Wonder Woman balloon jet one of the cutest and cosplay displays in recent memory. It’s the work of Chicago-based balloon artist Smarty Pants and his superhero daughter Penny. With all of the pressure on Wonder Woman to perform at the box office, perhaps that should

Dear Patrick Stewart: Thanks for the All the Memories on X-Men

I’m sure you’ve all heard the news by now.  Patrick Stewart has officially said “I’m done” with playing Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise.   It looks like Logan will be the last time we get to see the bald headed mind reader on the big screen.  At 76-years-old can you really blame Stewart?   He’s been at this since 2000.   And even before that, in another life, Stewart was part of the Star Trek generation.  But I just wanted to give him a quick shout out. Dear Patrick, Back in 2000 no one had any clue that the humongous rise

Five WWE In-Ring Wrestling Moments That Actually Made You Cry

While the WWE might be scripted that doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t get emotional at some of the moments their shows produce.  Like a movie or TV show, the WWE creates enough drama to drum up emotions that can get the tears flowing.   While wrestling has its share of tough moments out of the ring, today I wanted to focus on actual in the ring moments that made us cry.   I’m talking about inside the actual ring, before, during and after the fight type moments.  So this would exclude emotional tribute videos or honoring someone’s career.  These don’t include
