‘Fire and Fury’ to Be Adapted Into TV Series

‘Fire and Fury’ to Be Adapted Into TV Series
Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” is being eyed for an adaptation into a television series, Variety has confirmed.

Endeavor Content has purchased the film and television rights to the book, which goes inside the first year of Donald Trump’s presidency. It largely portrays Trump as unprepared for the enormity of his office, and that he is unable to focus his attention on policy details. The book also includes quotes from former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who referred to the 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer as “treasonous.” Bannon eventually resigned his position at Breitbart News over the furor caused by his statements.

The book proved to be an immediate best-seller and was sold out at bookstores in several major cities the day it was released.

No studio is currently attached to the project. Wolff will serve as an executive producer on the project with former

TV Ratings: 'Black Lightning' Gets a Promising Premiere on CW

TV Ratings: 'Black Lightning' Gets a Promising Premiere on CW
Good news for the CW. It seems the network still hasn't exhausted its viewers' appetite for superhero shows.

Black Lightning joined the lineup on Tuesday night, making it the fifth comic book series on the network — seventh, if you're counting genre-divergent entries iZombie and Riverdale. The first hour pulled a strong 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers. Those numbers are quite sound by CW standards, especially when you consider the fact that lead-in The Flash, the CW's No. 1 series, only performed incrementally better. Black Lightning shared The Flash's score in the key demo and lost fewer...

AMC is developing a series that hails from Blake Masters and Boo Killebrew, Variety has learned exclusively.

The series, titled “Aim High,” is described as a dramedy centered around a Southern family. Masters and Killebrew will write and executive produce the potential one-hour project.

Masters most recently co-created the USA series “Falling Water” with Henry Bromell in addition to serving as executive producer on the series. He also created the Showtime series “Brotherhood” and developed “Law & Order: La.” Killebrew wrote multiple episodes of “Longmire” after the show moved to Netflix in its fourth season.

Penguin Stormtroopers Strutting To The Imperial March To Introduce Lord Vader

Even the animal world seems to want to get in the Star Wars craze as these penguin stormtroopers strut to the Imperial March just before introducing their version of Lord Vader. Honestly this dark black penguin looks absolutely menacing while the stormtroopers look just about as clumsy as they do in the movie. Maybe that’s not fair, if you gave these little guys a blaster I’m sure they couldn’t do any worse than their human counterparts. After all dumb luck could possibly replace most stormtrooper training if you really look at it. No one could really do much worse unless

Documentary-making can be dangerous and particularly when you're producing a multi-part series on the real-life stories of drug cartels as the team behind Netflix's Drug Lords found out when they had to delay an interview with the mother of El Chapo, Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, the head of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel, in order to stay out of the way of an intra-cartel squabble. Veteran British Actor Peter Wyngarde Dies at 90
Veteran actor Peter Wyngarde, who starred as flamboyant investigator Jason King in the iconic 1970s British police series “Department S,” has died. He was 90.

Wyngarde died in a West London hospital, his agent Thomas Bowington told Variety.

“Peter Wyngarde passed away peacefully in his sleep early evening Monday at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital,” Bowington said, adding that Wyngarde was “one of the most original and truly great actors I’ve ever seen and by far the most exceptional man I have ever met.”

Wyngarde had a long career on stage and screen but is best known as handlebar-mustachioed investigator King. He also appeared in classic series including “The Avengers,” “The Saint,” and “The Prisoner.”

The King character was an author and investigator in “Department S,” and in 1971 was given his own series, “Jason King.” The show was canceled in 1972, but Wyngarde continued to appear on stage and screen in Britain and internationally.

Canada Became So Cold, This Guy Ice Skates Down his Own Street

The next time you want to complain about how cold it is outside think of Canada and then watch this guy skating down his street. At least most of us can still Walk down our streets without needing to strap on the ice skates. I kind of wonder what part of Canada he’s in that it’s this cold. It’s not unnatural for roads to ice over but it still has to get pretty cold to do so. I can remember my time on the coast and roads icing up was about our biggest concern since snow didn’t tend to stick.

BBC Bringing ‘Romper Stomper’ Series to the U.K. (Exclusive)

“Romper Stomper” is heading to the U.K. after the BBC bought the Australian series, a sequel to the controversial 1992 movie of the same name that launched Russell Crowe to fame. The BBC will run the drama on its online BBC Three channel later this year.

Crowe played the lead role of Hando in the film, the head of a gang of violent neo-Nazis. The series is set 25 years later and tracks the exploits of a new generation of far-right activists, as well as the anti-fascists lining up against them. The film was Australian director Geoffrey Wright’s first, and he helms the six-part follow-up series, which was greenlit by Australian streaming service Stan.

There is no Hando in the series, but the show’s lineage is reflected in the cast, with Dan Wyllie (“Love My Way”) and Jacqueline McKenzie (“The 4400”) reprising their big-screen roles.

The cast is otherwise a mix of well-known Australian actors

Five Reasons We’ll Be Seeing “Flower” Starring Zoey Deutch

There are five reasons why you should be excited to watch Flower starring Zoey Deutch, and while your five reasons might be different from mine this is what I came up with. If you couldn’t tell by the trailer the female lead will be forming what amounts to a very unstable and somewhat strange bond with her new stepbrother in a way that is highly suspect. While the two of them are linked by marriage the distance between them seems insurmountable until it becomes clear that they’re bound to eventually bond in some way that a lot of people might

The New World Record For Longest Fall With Just A Rope (No Bungee Cord)

The new world record for a free fall with a static rope, not a bungee cord, was just broken. Correction, it was just shattered. Call Guinness as well and tell them that they might need to tack another record onto that as well, the longest free fall that didn’t involve anything being jarred loose from a human body to splat on the rocks below. Seriously man, how in the world did that harness help the guy to avoid having anything broken, dislocated, pulverized, or even just yanked so hard that it snapped? I’m hoping that people do realize that a
