Venice: New Films by George Clooney, Guillermo Del Toro, Stephen Frears Expected to World Premiere (Exclusive)
Rome – George Clooney’s “Suburbicon,” Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Shape of Water,” Stephen Frears’ “Victoria and Abdul,” and Paolo Virzi’s “Ella and John,” starring Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland, are among the titles strongly tipped to world premiere at the upcoming 74th Venice Film Festival.
Less than a week before the official announcement, the buzz on the Venice lineup remains somewhat muted, though some locked-in titles have surfaced, including Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing,” which will open the fest. There’s also certainty over the absence of some titles – especially “Blade Runner 2049” and Darren Aronofsky’s “Mother!”, both high-profile movies that had been considered as possibilities.

Yes, Warners’ film studio chief Toby Emmerich tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can." And Matt Reeves, who will direct the studio’s still-undated (and unwritten) The Batman, has said that he means to keep Affleck in the »

John Boyega Slams ‘Game of Thrones’ For Lack of Diversity: ‘There Are No Black People’
“There are no black people on ‘Game of Thrones.’ You don’t see one black person in ‘Lord of the Rings,'” Boyega said in a recent interview with GQ. “I ain’t paying money to always see one type of person on-screen. Because you see different people from different backgrounds, different cultures, every day. Even if you’re a racist, you have to live with that. We can ruffle up some feathers.”

‘Game of Thrones’ Cast Hated Pretending Jon Snow Was Dead
Remember how frustrating it was when Jon Snow was killed in the “Game of Thrones” season 5 finale, but because the show had surpassed the books, no one seemed to know for certain if he was actually, really dead? And remember how annoying it was that practically every single article written about the show for the next year was a variation of asking a member of the cast whether or not Jon was dead? As will come as a shock to no one, the cast hated it too. At least, so say co-stars John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) and Kristian Nairn »
