Ratings: 'Boardwalk Empire' Season Finale Dips From Last Year

HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" wrapped its third season down slightly from last year's Season 2 capper, but made up for it with repeated airings of the episode on Sunday night.  This year's finale drew in 2.7 million total viewers with its initial 9 p.m. airing -- off a bit from last season's finale, which pulled in 3 million total viewers with its initial airing. Cher's Next Album Due Out in Late March

Cher's next studio album, her first since 2001's Living Proof, is due out in late March 2013. The targeted release date was confirmed by Livia Tortella, Warner Bros. Records Co-President/COO, on the red carpet at Billboard's 2012 Women in Music event on Friday, Nov. 30. According to Tortella, Cher's forthcoming full-length is among a full slate of early 2013 album releases from the label, including new efforts from Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Goo Goo Dolls and Avenged Sevenfold. Last month, Cher previewed her long-in-the-works album by releasing a new dance single, "Woman's World," online.

Distributor Open Road Films is making a strategic move to bump up awards season buzz for films The Grey, starring Liam Neeson, and End of Watch, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, by re-releasing them in theaters this Friday.

The Grey, in which a hulking Neeson battles vicious wolves after a plane crash, will have an exclusive run at local Southern California theaters Laemmle Monica and Laemmle Town Center, Open Road announced Monday. End of Watch, which showcases Gyllenhaal as an L.A. police officer going up against a cartel, will return to theaters nationwide.

Lamb of God lead singer charged with Czech fan's death

(AP) — The manager of a Virginia-based heavy metal band says its lead singer will vigorously defend himself against a charge that he caused a fan's death at a concert in the Czech Republic.
