Album Review: Usher's 'Looking 4 Myself' shines

11 June 2012 4:16 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Usher may be “Looking 4 Myself,” as his new album’s title indicates, but he certainly isn’t at a loss when he’s searching for musical styles. On his most adventurous album yet, Usher takes styles that have worked for him in the past, whether it was his smooth swagger or his dance leanings and turns them on their head.  “Looking 4 Myself” is not so much a reinvention as an exploration of different styles by a confident artist secure enough to abandon past formulas. The result is an inventive, stylish album, out June 12, that could be heavily rewarded come Grammy time. »

My wife is in school these days, which means there are many moments where I am the only person available to take care of Toshi and Allen, even if I've got work that needs to get done.  It can make for some exciting schedules on certain days, and a recent Saturday was a perfect example of that. We were up early for Toshi's final baseball game of the season, and then we had his end-of-the-season party at his coach's house with all the parents and players, a great group of folks.  And almost immediately after that wrapped up, we had to »

Something looks different here. Charlize Theron looked beautiful as always, rocking some shades and a fedora while spending some quality time with her son Jackson in Beverly Hills.  And then we wondered—where are those golden locks? Sure, Theron could have tucked her hair under her hat because of the heat (no one likes a sweaty neck), but when she turned around, we realized what happened. Charlize shaved her head! Although we can't fully see the new 'do, E! News has confirmed that the Snow White and the Huntsman star did indeed shave off all those blond tresses—but it wasn't just for a liberating experience. Dallas: TV Review

11 June 2012 4:00 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

The trail of bad ideas surrounding the revamping of Dallas by TNT is a long one. A very long one.  First, if TNT wants the Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray demo, then more power to them. It’ll make CBS feel like The CW for five minutes. Besides, few actors of that age get a shot at being in a major series, much less reprising their iconic (if soap-laden) roles they started in 1978 and rode through 1991, only to return in 2012, like well-lit Lazaruses walking the South Fork ranch.   Photos: Reviving an Empire:
