25 April 2012 4:59 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

It isn't easy to sing the music of Queen. It's not enough to be a talented singer. Remember when the mentors from "The Voice" did that awful Queen medley last season? Exactly. I'd say that all six of our remaining "American Idol" contestants can sing. But none of them have a Freddie Mercury-style voice. In fact, the guy who seemed most likely to be able to sing a Queen song, albeit with »

Two luxurious Manhattan residences that served as homes to a pair of Hollywood's most iconic single ladies have sold for several million dollars each. "The Age of Innocence 3D"?  That might have been the case if the 3D technology had been around when Martin Scorsese first filmed Edith Wharton's tragic love story.  After shooting "Hugo" in 3D last year and earning an Oscar nomination for his efforts, Scorsese has become such a convert to the format that he said at a CinemaCon panel on Wednesday that he would have shot all of his "post-'Raging Bull" films in three dimension.  Also read: Ang Lee: 3D is the Future, But Shooting 'Life of Pi' is a Learning CurveRaging Bull” came »

Anti-Merger Lawsuit Lives on Even Though SAG Doesn't

SAG filed its answer today in the federal lawsuit brought in February by opponents of SAG/AFTRA merger who sought to enjoin the merger referendum ballot count. Yes, the lawsuit lives on, even though the judge denied the injunction four weeks ago and merger passed overwhelmingly, with an 82 percent thumbs up from SAG members and 86 percent from AFTRA.

And, no, “SAG filed its answer” is not a typo. In a bizarre twist, the suit as it stands continues to name the now defunct organization as a defendant. The SAG/AFTRA merger

Ang Lee knows 3D is the future, but that didn’t make it any easier to shoot his forthcoming “Life of Pi” in the format. “I’m dealing with a kid, a tiger and water ... so the learning curve is enormous,” Lee told theater owners at CinemaCon on Wednesday as part of a panel discussion with Martin Scorsese.
