'X-Men' Xes Out Estimates

Final figures for the holiday weekend indicated that 20th Century Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand smashed the Memorial Day record even harder than originally estimated. According to Exhibitor Relations the movie earned $122,861,157 from Friday through Monday, 36 percent percent above the previous record of $90.2 million set by The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997. Sony's The Da Vinci Code was in second place with $42,437,372, slightly less than originally estimated. DreamWorks Animation's Over the Hedge place third with $35,322,115. Rounding out the top five with Mission: Impossible III, with $8,901,106 and Poseidon with $7,087,413.
