You Must Know: 'Reign' Star Adelaide Kane

17 October 2013 1:31 PM, PDT

The success of two countries lied squarely on Mary Stuart's political performance when she left Scotland for France in 1557. Similarly, the success of Reign, which chronicles Mary's life en francais, lies squarely on Adelaide Kane's performance as she takes the lead on The CW's most ambitious series to date. Thankfully the network's outstanding casting department has, once again, uncovered the perfect vehicle to let this rising star shine.

Kane brings an essential modernity to the regal role, yet never feels like, well, Keanu Reeves in Much Ado About Nothing as she exudes an elegance not often found in today's actors. Aiding Kane in transporting audiences to the 1500's is a smart script, to-die-for locations and a touch of the supernatural.

Olsen Twins: We've Worn Chanel Since 'Full House'

17 October 2013 12:19 PM, PDT

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen recently gave a rare interview with luxury online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter's magazine The Edit, in which they reveal that their notoriously pricey style actually started much earlier than some people might assume -- in fact, they've been wearing the likes of Chanel and Marc Jacobs since their Full House days.

"[On Full House] we'd be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits," Ashley explains.

And it turns out the majority of the twins' wardrobe was actually made up of adult pieces -- including "Chanel and Marc Jacobs, cut to fit."

"We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite," Mary-Kate says. "So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession."

In fact, their critically acclaimed high-fashion label The Row got started through their hunt for the perfect T-shirt in 2006, with both girls "obsessed »

Matt Bomer Talks 'White' Hot Neal & Peter Tension

17 October 2013 11:08 AM, PDT

The White Collar season finale flipped the script, quite literally, by turning Peter into the prisoner and leaving Neal on the outside looking in. Tonight's premiere episode picks up with our smooth criminal feeling incredibly guilty for his role placing Burke behind bars, and desperately seeking a way to free his framed friend.

When and if Peter is freed remains to be seen, but as Matt Bomer told me, this year will be fraught with tension as a result of Neal's actions. In addition to teasing tough times ahead for TV's most dapper two-some, Bomer opened up about Neal's evolution and the end of his family tree when ETonline recently caught up with the actor in NYC!

Peter Gallagher: We're Going To Blow Fans' Minds

17 October 2013 9:43 AM, PDT

It's been a full month since Covert Affairs aired a new episode and, for fans, that time was necessary to recover from the shocking series of events -- Teo's assassination, Arthur's incarceration, Joan's hospitalization, Auggie's professional probation, Henry's machinations -- that led to Annie fleeing the country!

To find out where the show is headed next, ETonline rang up Peter Gallagher to talk about Arthur's legal issues, his impending fatherhood and how both could make him reconsider a life in Washington, D.C.

ETonline: We got a lot of Arthur backstory last season thanks to the introduction of Teo. What excited you about that arc?

Peter Gallagher: I loved having a backstory. I loved having a place in the story. For however long it lasted, it was fantastic. I wish I could have worked with Manolo [Cardona] for a bit longer before Teo died. And Kari [Matchett]'s real-life pregnancy was such a godsend. It deepened »

Who Would Britney Cast In '50 Shades'?

17 October 2013 8:32 AM, PDT

Even Britney Spears is throwing a name into the mix for the lead role of Christian Grey in the erotic book-turned-movie Fifty Shades of Grey. That being said, the Work B**ch singer might just be showing favoritism.

Related: Who Would Oliver Stone Cast For Christian Grey?

Spears, 31, revealed to London's Kiss FM that she thinks James Franco is right for the role. This choice comes after the 35-year-old actor performed the pop princess' 2004 hit Everytime in the film Spring Breakers. "I love James Franco," she told the radio station. "I think he's really cool."

Producers of Fifty Shades are busy re-casting their leading man after Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, 33, announced this past week that he was backing out of the project. Production was supposed to begin three weeks from now.

Do you agree with Spears? Is Franco a good choice to play the part of the Seattle S&M billionaire? »

'Elle' Responds to McCarthy Cover Controversy

17 October 2013 8:28 AM, PDT

Elle Magazine has come under some serious fire recently for their annual November "Women in Hollywood" issue, in which they covered up actress Melissa McCarthy in an oversized coat, while showing a lot more skin on the issue's other covers featuring leaner actresses such as Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Marion Cotillard.

The magazine's decision to cover up McCarthy angered plenty of fans, who saw the cover shot as a move to hide her plus-size figure.

Pics: Rihanna's Sexy 'Complex' Covers

"This year, Elle's token plus-size cover girl is McCarthy, who was photographed in a Marina Rinaldi coat so huge that she could hide her Mike and Molly co-star Billy Gardel underneath," Slate.com wrote. " ... Perhaps photographer Thomas Whiteside only knows how to photograph the usual stick insect models, because he clearly has no clue how to highlight McCarthy's curves."

But now Elle is responding to all the controversy, stressing that McCarthy herself "loved" the look.
