'Identity Thief' Strikes Again at Box Office

24 February 2013 3:55 PM, PST

She may not be nominated for an Oscar this year, but funnylady Melissa McCarthy has her own right to celebrate today, as her latest film Identity Thief is once again No.1 in America.

After losing the top spot last weekend to A Good Day to Die Hard, the comedy (also starring Jason Bateman) siphoned $14.1 million from the box office, narrowly beating out Dwayne Johnson's Snitch, which debuted to the tune of $13 million.

The other big weekend premiere, Keri Russell's horror Dark Skies, opened in fifth place with $8.9 million, while Escape From Planet Earth ($11 million) and Safe Haven ($10.6 million) landed at third and fourth, respectively.

Last weekend's champion, Die Hard 5, took a drastic hit after its monstrous opening and was nowhere to be found among the weekend's top 10. »

Buzzmakers: Prince Michael Joins Et & Mindy Dies

23 February 2013 9:30 AM, PST

What had ETOnline readers buzzing this week?

1. Prince Michael Jackson is New Et Correspondent

Having grown up in show business, Prince Michael proved to be a gifted interviewer as he conducted his first sit-down as an Et correspondent.

Michael Jackson's 16-year-old son impressed Oz the Great and Powerful stars James Franco and Zach Braff as well as director Sam Raimi with his confidence and competence on his first assignment.

"You're doing awesome," Braff gushed. "You're a natural."

Prince Michael returned the compliment, praising their work in the fantasy flick and getting Franco to shed some light on how he approached playing the lead role of Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics.

"I saw that his particular transformation would allow for comedy," Franco explained. "Because he's a conman -- that would get him into a lot of awkward situations that could be played for comedy."

New Pic: Vin Diesel Rules as 'Riddick'

22 February 2013 12:42 PM, PST

Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel is returning for a third time to his Riddick character this fall, and he's teasing fans with a brand-new image of his title character sitting on a throne with a troubled brow, very reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger's pose at the end of Conan the Barbarian. Coincidence?

Pics: Role Call -- Who Got Hired in Hollywood

Diesel posted the shot on his Facebook page with the accompanying caption: "It has been 9 years since The Chronicles of Riddick was released... all along I knew I would eventually have to return to that dark place, the mind of an Alpha Furyan..."

Following 2000's Pitch Black and 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick, the new sci-fi film, simply titled Riddick, is set to hit theaters and IMAX on September 6 and reunites Diesel with director David Twohy for a more pared-down film in which our anti-hero finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Michelle Williams is Finally Growing Her Hair Out

21 February 2013 7:05 AM, PST

Though Michelle Williams has now long been associated with her beloved blonde pixie cut --which she once said was a tribute to the late Heath Ledger -- the Oz the Great and Powerful actress says she's now "ready" to sport long locks again.

"I think I'm ready," she tells E! News. "It's on its way, slowly but surely."

In a memorable quote, Michelle admitted to British Elle in 2011 that Heath loved the polarizing cut. "I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it," she said.

But perhaps another reason she's kept her hair short for so long?

That dreaded in-between stage.

"The mid-stage is insufferable," she admits. "It's really hard on your self-esteem."

5 Questions w/ 'Arrow' Fan Favorite

20 February 2013 12:24 PM, PST

There was no doubt I adored Felicity Smoak from the minute Arrow introduced Queen Consolidated's go-to-techie. But it wasn't until ETonline revealed actress Emily Bett Rickards had been upped to series regular for season two, and my Twitter at replies exploded, that I realized just how many people shared my Felicity obsession.

Luckily for us all, Arrow will be serving up a Smoak smorgasbord from this point forward, beginning with tonight's episode, Dodger. To find out what lies ahead, I chatted with Rickards and discovered that there is a downside to aligning with Oliver!

ETonline: Congrats on becoming a series regular. Was this the plan from day one or did you just take a leap of faith knowing the role Felicity played in the comics?

Emily Bett Rickards: When I auditioned for the role, it was for one episode with the possibility of recurring. So I am utterly shocked and so grateful that she's become such a »

"It’s crossed my mind. It’s hard not to," she said about how often she thinks about that particularly hard moment during her recovery from myelodysplastic syndrome [Mds]. "It wasn’t that long ago. We keep talking about the passage of time and my family loves to say, 'This too shall pass' and that moment did pass. It's not quite in the rear view mirror just yet, but it's getting there."

5 Things You Don't Know About Joaquin Phoenix

This three-time Oscar nominee -- who this year is up for Best Actor for his powerful portrayal in The Master -- shockingly announced in 2008 that he was retiring from acting to pursue a career in hip-hop music. Eden Sher Says Sue Heck is 'All That'

20 February 2013 6:58 AM, PST

TV's sweetest sitcom, The Middle, seriously brought the swoons with last week's Valentine's Day episode when Darrin kissed Sue, turning her disastrous dance into one for the record books. And according to star Eden Sher, Sue will continue to be lucky in the love department over the coming weeks as things with Darrin get more and more serious.

ETonline caught up with the always hilarious Sher during a recent trip to NYC where we talked about Indiana loving, her love of physical comedy and what's ahead on The Middle. Plus, I asked Sher which singers she'd like to meet now that she's checked Taylor Swift and Christina Aguilera off her list!

ETonline: Ok, so that scene between Sue and Darrin was too cute for words.

Eden Sher: I know, right? I just love their dynamic. I like the idea of Sue having this romance that is very specifically Darrin and Sue. In a way, that »
