Scars Of Dracula Sixth Scale Figure from Star Ace Toys & Sideshow

The great Christopher Lee may no longer be with us, but he will live on forever through his many memorable performances. One of his most iconic turns in front of the camera came from playing the titular bloodsucker in 1970's Scars of Dracula, a nightmare-inducing role depicted with incredible detail by Star Ace Toys' new sixth scale figure from Sideshow.

From Sideshow Collectibles: "Not just an actor but also soldier, spy, linguist, Knight of the British Empire and heavy metal enthusiast, Christopher Lee made over 250 films in his long career, including appearing in the most beloved film franchises of all time, James Bond, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

The role that thrust Lee into the global spotlight was a time honoured character that had already become indelibly associated with another actor. But Lee’s portrayal and popularity in the role of Dracula for Hammer Films made the tall »

Fantastic Fest 2016 Interview: Director Kevin Burke Discusses His Documentary 24×36: A Movie About Movie Posters

A few years ago, as I stood in line at a Hero Complex Gallery show celebrating the legendary Joe Dante and Roger Corman, I overheard someone behind me discussing a documentary project they were working on about the art of movie posters. Fast forward to September 2016 and that documentary, 24x36: A Movie About Movie Posters, was enjoying its world premiere during the 2016 Fantastic Fest, and I was incredibly interested in seeing it due to my own personal love for movie art, as well as the fact that this project has been on my radar for quite some time.

While at Fantastic Fest, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Burke, the documentarian and first-time filmmaker behind 24x36, to hear more about the process of putting together the project, what inspired him to tackle this topic in particular, and more.

Great to speak with you today, Kevin, and great job on the documentary, »

Blu-ray Review: Blood Diner

27 September 2016 2:30 PM, PDT

A goofy horror comedy that boasts some weirdly insane set pieces and a lot of lighthearted fun, Blood Diner is the vegetarian cannibalism movie I never knew I needed (but definitely do now). It’s a film I’ve heard about for a long time, but just never found the opportunity to rent, which is why I’m happy to see it resurrected in HD by Lionsgate as part of their new Vestron Video Collector’s Series. It may not be an experience for everyone, but considering my absolute love for balls-out, unabashedly weird horror comedies from the 1980s (like The Stuff or Saturday the 14th Strikes Back), Blood Diner is the perfect Blood Feast sequel we never officially got, and I had a blast with it.

Blood Diner’s story is anything but simple, so I’ll do my best here. The film opens with two kids, Michael and George Tutman, »
