WWE and Blumhouse Team Up for Incarnate

It has been announced that WWE Studios and Blumhouse Productions are teaming up for Incarnate, a new horror movie featuring Aaron Eckhart as an exorcist:

WWE Studios and Blumhouse Productions announced today a partnership on “Incarnate,” the micro-budget thriller from Blumhouse directed by Brad Peyton (“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”), scripted by Ronnie Christensen (“Dark Tide”) and starring Aaron Eckhart. WWE Superstar Mark Henry has been cast in a cameo role, and WWE Studios will leverage its extensive multi-platform reach for the film.

Jason Blum (“Paranormal Activity,” “Insidious,” “The Purge” and “Sinister” franchises) is producing the film for Blumhouse which is co-financing the production with Im Global. Michael Luisi, WWE Studios President, is Executive Producing alongside Couper Samuelson, Michael Seitzman, Trevor Engelson, Stuart Ford and Charles Layton. Universal Pictures will distribute the film in the U.S. and Blumhouse International is overseeing foreign rights.

New Details and Teaser Image for the Doctor Who Christmas Special: ‘The Time of the Doctor’

Now that the 50th Anniversary special has aired, everyone is focusing their attention on the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special. The official title has just been revealed as The Time of the Doctor and we have new details, along with a new teaser image.

The Christmas special will be the last episode for the current Doctor, played by Matt Smith, and it will be our first good look at the new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi. Of course, everyone involved in the series has been tight-lipped about what’s going to happen, but we do have the official synopsis:

“Clara and The Doctor must go to a quiet backwater planet in order to learn what some strange signals mean for his very last existence.”

Hellbenders Blu-ray / DVD Release Date and Cover Art

Lionsgate has announced plans for a Hellbenders Blu-ray / DVD release in February. Here’s a look at the official cover art and the list of bonus features:

Cassadaga DVD Release Details and Cover Art

Original Trailer for Saturn 3

AMC Orders Pilots for Knifeman and Galyntine

With Breaking Bad finished and Mad Men almost wrapped up as well, AMC is looking for their next big original series. Today, they’ve announced pilot orders for two new genre projects that we’ll be keeping an eye on:

AMC today announced that it had ordered two pilots, Knifeman and Galyntine, both of which will be produced by AMC Studios in 2014 for consideration for series for 2015.

Wilmer Valderrama Joins the Cast of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series

Casting news continues to roll in for the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series and it has been announced that Wilmer Valderrama will be taking on the role of a crime lord:

Wilmer Valderrama (That ‘70s Show, To Whom It May Concern) has been cast as enigmatic crime lord Carlos, in El Rey Network’s highly anticipated Supernatural crime saga, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.” Based on Robert Rodriguez’s cult classic film of the same name, the hour-long series will premiere on El Rey Network in Q1 2014, debuting as the first scripted original series on the new genre-busting cable network.

Director Hired for Day of the Dead Remake

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell acquired the rights to remake George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead. The project continues to move forward and we now know who will be directing the movie. 

According to Deadline, Millennium Films has hired Mark Tonderai to take on this project. Previously, Tonderai directed 2012′s House at the End of the Street, starring Jennifer Lawrence. As well as coming on board as the director, he also wrote the script with Lars Jacobson. There aren’t too many details on the story at this time, except for the fact that it’s a modern-day retelling of Romero’s story and we have a brief synopsis from the most recent report:
