Escape from Tomorrow (2014) Review

11 July 2014 11:40 AM, PDT

Officially Escape from Tomorrow saw limited release in 2013. But it didnt hit major outlets (like Netflix) or see a disc release until April of this year thus Im going to consider this film a 2014 release. Why is that relevant Because it just earned a guaranteed position on my Best of 2014 list. To take in an innovative picture from a mystery filmmaker is a stellar surprise. Under the Skin (2014) Review

8 July 2014 3:39 PM, PDT

Under the Skin is an acquired taste and thats likely to be a very favored opinion. Some are going to be mystified by this film thats suddenly surfaced executed as a nod to Stanley Kubrick in a sea of clich productions others will be lulled to sleep and unable to follow while others will no doubt question the overall design of the plot. For my money this is a damn fine feature shot by a filmmaker with a wide enough vision to earn classification in just about every genre imaginable save for the musical variety. This sure as hell isnt a musical. It is a hair raiser though it is an account left to the interpretation of each viewer and it is astoundingly ethereal in certain sequences Check it out especially if youre into artsy »
