How About Some ReAnimator Lager Courtesy of Narragansett Beer Company

1 October 2015 11:52 AM, PDT

Just as Dr. Herbert West became obsessed with reanimating the dead so too did we become obsessed with reviving our Bock Narragansett said of the horrorinspired beer. It is the same recipe made with Northern Brewers and Hallertau hops but we will then dryhop with Czech Saaz at the end of the process. In the Lovecraft story they use a serum that brings the dead back to life but after being reanimated they are a bitdifferent. Dryhopping the Czech Saaz will be the serum that reanimates our Bock. This method will give the brew an additional spicy character that will add a layer of complexity as well as a slightly stronger hop and floral aroma. »

The Green Inferno (2015) Review

29 September 2015 5:55 PM, PDT

Let me provide you with my own brief history of director Eli Roth. Ive seen but two of his films. I was maligned by friends when I returned home from a screening of his debut film going on and on about my love affair with the insanity that was Cabin Fever. Indeed I adored it. The kungfu kid the overthetop gore the famous Cerina Vincent bathtub scene and yes the (even to this day) deeply disturbing Jordan LaddGerman Shepherd scene in the toolshed. Nightmare stuff. However Ive not revisited it since that theatre trip so long ago so Ive no idea how it holds up. »

The Strain Season 2 Episode 12 Fallen Light Review and Summary

28 September 2015 9:52 AM, PDT

The underlying theme of the episode was heartbreak and that theme was brought to wondrous light through superb execution. Were not accustomed to seeing such melodrama from The Strain but when doled out on very rare occasions it really works to add a new wrinkle to the show. Nora and Vasiliy exited the episode with heartbreak working through their very cores and Ephs experiencing guilt on an enormous level for a series of different reasons. It all worked quite well to bring a bit of humanity to the show and remind us that our heroes are extremely vulnerable. »
