Homeland's Portrayal of Pakistan as 'Grimy Hellhole' Angers Officials

It seems not everyone was enamored with Homeland‘s creative resurgence in Season 4.

Pakistani officials who binge-watched all 12 episodes of the Showtime hit’s recently concluded run of episodes were outraged by the way their country was portrayed, according to the New York Post.

Season 4, which was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, focused on Claire Danes’ Carrie Mathison as she worked to uncover a terror plot against the U.S. embassy in Islamabad that was supported by some members of the Pakistani government and its Inter-Services Intelligence agency.

Ratings: Grinch Wins Christmas for ABC, Surging to 5-Year High

ABC’s broadcast of the animated classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas topped Thursday night with a 1.9 demo rating (surging 58 percent from a year ago), while drawing 5.9 million total viewers (up 44 percent).

Those tallies mark five- and four-year highs for the ‘toon.

Leading out of that, the live-action, Jim Carrey-fronted Dr. SeussHow the Grinch Stole Christmas did 5 mil and a 1.8.

A repeat of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory (6.8 mil/1.2) drew Christmas night’s largest audience.

Jenna Coleman Reveals Her Doctor Who Status at Close of Christmas Special

Fans of Doctor Who‘s current Companion received a Christmas Present just under the wire, when at the conclusion of Thursday’s holiday special Jenna Coleman confirmed she’s continuing on as Clara.

“It’s wonderful,” Coleman said at the close of Doctor Who: Last Christmas, putting to rest recent rumors of her possible exit. “I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor, and I couldn’t walk away with the story being unresolved…. I think [Clara and the Doctor] finally just reached a point where they really understand each other.”

Amy Adams on Today Show Interview Cancellation: 'I Still Don't Understand'

Earlier this week, NBC’s Today show axed a scheduled interview with Amy Adams due to her apparent unwillingness to discuss the recent Sony hack — but that’s not how Adams recalls it.

Ratings: Shrek and Toy Story Top Tuesday, Silence One Direction

ABC’s one-two punch of Shrek the Halls and a Toy Story That Time Forgot encore topped Tuesday night, besting an uberpopular boy band along the way.

Shrek opened ABC’s slate with 5.3 million total viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, while Toy Story did 4.7 mil/1.2 — with the animated features tying for the nightly demo win. ABC’s Year in Review special drew 5.3 mil and a 1.1.

Extant Season 2: Who's In? Who's Out?

CBS’ Extant is readying some of its cast for blastoff.

Due in part to a shift in storyline focus for Season 2 – in which Halle Berry’s Molly will search for her alien offspring — original players Goran Visnjic and Camryn Manheim will only return for a couple episodes, our sister site Deadline reports, while Hiroyuki Sanada and Michael O’Neill won’t return at all.

Teletubbies' Sun Baby Is All Grown Up: Meet 19-Year-Old Jess Smith

It’s the then-and-now you didn’t know you needed to see today.

Jess Smith, a 19-year-old student at Canterbury Christ Church University, has revealed that she played the iconic sun-baby in the children’s TV show Teletubbies. And just like Smith’s character, the news is setting the interwebs ablaze.

According to London’s Telegraph, Smith filmed her part — which was simply looped throughout the British series’ four-season run — in 1996, at which time the BBC paid her 250 pounds and a box of toys.

Legend of Korra Finale: Bosses Confirm 'Korra and Asami Fell in Love'

Legend of Korra fans can stop debating the titular heroine’s feelings for former-rival Asami; the Nickelodeon series’ creators have set the record straight about the final scene of Friday’s series finale.

“Our intention with the last scene was to make it as clear as possible that yes, Korra and Asami have romantic feelings for each other,” co-creator Michael Dante Dimartino writes in a Tumblr post. “The moment where they enter the spirit portal symbolizes their evolution from being friends to being a couple.”

Video: Cut SNL Bit Twists Love Actually, Cracks Up Host Amy Adams

If you look for it, we’ve got a sneaky feeling that love actually is all around… and so are creeper pervs, if this unaired Saturday Night Live sketch is to be believed.
