3 February 2013 3:24 PM, PST

Performing the National Anthem at a major arena or outdoor event has never been a cushy job, but it’s possibly even less so in the wake of Beyoncé’s LipsyncGate at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Indeed, the scrutiny and criticism heaped on the Lady Knowles over the last week had to have put an added degree of pressure on Alicia Keys as she took the mic and sang “The Star Spangled Banner” just before Super Bowl Xlvii.

Super Bowl 2013: Jennifer Hudson & Sandy Hook Kids Tackle 'America the Beautiful' — Thoughts?

3 February 2013 3:21 PM, PST

You knew it was going to be emotional: Oscar-winning American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson and 26 students from Sandy Hook Elementary School singing “America the Beautiful” before the Super Bowl Xlvii kickoff in New Orleans’ Superdome. And indeed, the reality of their performance lived up to the expectation.

It seems, in fact, that the (highly effective) Weight Watchers »
