The Voice Top 10 Results Recap: Did the Right Singers Get the Boot?

20 November 2012 6:10 PM, PST

‘Tis the season for year-end best-of lists, but unfortunately for two contestants on NBC’s The Voice, cracking the prestigious ranks of the Season 3 Top 10 won’t be enough to keep them on our TV screens past Thanksgiving.

Also unfortunate? The way the show’s producers — and host Carson Daly — seemingly do everything in their power to vaccuum the suspense right out of the results-night telecast. Seriously, the way the show is paced and edited would be like making people stand in line for a roller-coaster, and then sending it along a track as flat as Christina Milian’s cue-card readings. »

No. 1 NBC, as The Voice Rests and Revolution Pauses, Expects a 'Leveling of the Playing Field'

20 November 2012 2:19 PM, PST

Once an easy target, the Peacock network is standing proud as the fall season draws to a close.

To date, NBC has won (or tied for No. 1) seven out of the past eight weeks, led eight consecutive Mondays in the coveted 18-49 demo and done the same for six straight Tuesdays. The network’s most recent superlative is no less than its first November sweeps win in nine years (averaging a 2.8 rating to runner-up CBS’ 2.4).

That said, buoyed as it has been by The Voice (a dominant force on Mondays and Tuesdays) and the freshman hit Revolution (which has outrated »

I’m told Setton is exiting for creative reasons, while Camp asked to be taken off contract — a move that will allow the in-demand actress to pursue other opportunities while continuing to appear on Mindy Project (and a source insists she will continue to appear).
