Lionsgate is Working on a Borderlands Movie

28 August 2015 9:35 AM, PDT

Lionsgate (company behind The Hunger Games) has announced that they are making a live action adaptation of Borderlands.

The heads of Lionsgate released a statement stating they are going to make a feature film based off the game Borderlands. The note that the adventure is due to them expanding their interest in adapting established franchises, and with over 25 million copies sold you can bet Borderlands has done just that.

As for other details we will have to wait as it is too soon. The studio does promise to "stay true to the series," but we have no casting information or writers/directors lined up just yet.

"The Borderlands games don't pull any punches, and we'll make the movie with the same in-your-face attitude that has made the series a blockbuster mega-franchise," Lionsgate noted.

Avid Arad and his son will be producing the film.

"This alliance is ideally positioned to create a bold, »

Lawbreakers Gets A Gameplay Trailer

28 August 2015 9:29 AM, PDT

It wasn't too long ago that we showed you Cliff Blezinski's (Gears of War) new game reveal, and today we got gameplay!

The gameplay shows off a few of the arena's in the game along with the different character classes you can choose from. It also highlights the idea of leaping through the air and being a "vertical" game as originally stated by the developers.

It seems each character has a unique approach to gameplay ranging from assasin blades, building swinging (which allows them to leap off the map a little), and even some jetpack fun allowing longer air time.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and will release first on PC as a free-to-play title, with possible console releases later. The story takes place After the world was torn apart and has rebuilt itself, but a new gravity technique is found which allows the game to have a unique mechanic. »

Focal Point: Of Spoilers and Phobias (Redux)

26 August 2015 2:23 PM, PDT

As some of the most highly anticipated movies draw nearer to release, "spoilers" are once again popping up and sending the interwebs into a tizzy...But what's what, and when should you get upset?  Let's see if we can solve that problem.

I know what you're gonna say, "Jordan, we've seen this comic before."  Okay, yes, you have seen this one before as it was posted last year, around this time actually.  It's amazing, however, to see how truthful this comic reamins even today, and it may actually be more relevant than ever.  As such, I decided to bring it back today and talk a little more about spoilers and "spoiler culture", and it has nothing to do with the fact that I've been sick and my kids started school up again...Just saying:

Cliff Bleszinski Announces New Game LawBreakers

26 August 2015 12:55 PM, PDT

Cliff Bleszinski has announced his studios new game titled LawBreakers.

People will know the opinionated Cliff from Gears of War and this is his new studios first game. The title is a free-to-play PC title that was originally titled Project Blue Streak and is now officially titled LawBreakers.

The game is 5v5 arena style combat with gravity perks. The developer explains that "people never want to be on the ground" as the game is very vertical with gravity manipulation, grappling hooks, and other ways to move about.

The trailer mentions it, but the game revolves around two teams. The Laws and the Breakers, makes sense right? He explained the game as something that will appeal to a large audience and is filled with gangs, guns, and gravity.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 4. LawBreakers will release in 2016 for PC, and possibly after for consoles.
