Bryan Singer Distances Himself from new X-Men Film to Prevent Backlash Due to His Legal Woes

Bryan Singer doesn’t want the controversy of the allegations against him to drag down his upcoming film X-Men: Days of future Past, so he’ll be keeping a low profile during the publicity build-up to the release of the film.

With the release date of X-Men: Days of Future Past coming closer; the cast is traveling around, doing publicity for the movie. However, one person who will not be seen on the talk show circuit or quoted in entertainment magazines is the film’s director Bryan Singer, who has decided to become invisible during the promo-phase of the project.

Singer is currently mired in a controversial lawsuit regarding alleged sexual abuse in 1999 (the case is still under investigation and Singer’s complicity has yet to be determined) and he doesn’t want his highly publicized problems to overshadow the project and damage the film’s bottom line. He has »

World Of Warcraft Movie: Behind the scenes photo revealed!

Filming for the on screen adaptation of Mmorpg World Of Warcraft is underway. There’s a picture and it is definitely happening!

World of Warcraft is played by 7.8 million people across the globe, making it a highly successful Mmorpg which has stayed in the limelight for many years.

Empire has shared the exciting image, which teases us with the filming of a scene. The interior somewhat resembles Stormwind Castle, an Alliance flag hangs in the background of one shot and the mood given off by the characters seems to be serious and formal.

The floor and wall textures also seem to mimic that which is found within the in-game Stormwind Castle, which suggests that the movie adaptation will maintain at least a low level resemblance to the games' scenery.

Stormwind Castle in-game

Exciting news for World Of Warcraft fans as this gives us definitive confirmation that the film is actually happening. »

The Legend of Hideo Kojima Creator of Metal Gear Solid

Thinking about it, how does one guy envision such great games such as Metal Gear or Zone of the Enders, while at the same time carrying an entire company on his shoulders? Hideo Kojima, owner of Kojima Productions, has been doing just that for Konami for decades now. The creator of one of the most iconic franchises in gaming has even stepped up to have a big role in the publisher side of things. He helps not only operate Kojima Productions, but Konami itself. Seems logical, through one of your leading men into bigger shoes. Yet how does he do it?

We ask the question as this week we highlighted another great PlayStation Exclusive, Metal Gear Solid. This is part of a month long series that will highlight the greatest PlayStation Exclusives! Be sure to check them out!

“Storytelling is very difficult. But adding the flavor helps to relay the storytelling, »

Comcast Raised Netflix Prices, Will Video Games Be Next?

In the technology world, it’s an ever growing battle between technology and the services that provide them. One side wants to innovate, but the other side wants money on the booming project. Thus we have cable providers angry and the cable publishers and so on. The latest trend seems to be internet providers getting angry with, well, the content they are supposed to provide.

Now with cable providers, you can go up in arms about who is to blame. Every time Viacom throws a fit with a specific cable provider, they ultimately win and the customers lose. Why? Because Viacom milks more money for “packaged deals” so they charge more money for their “network” that includes terrible channels like MTV and probably channels you didn’t even know existed.  You will know about this if you have cable as Viacom has attacked more than 3 major cable providers in the past year. »

Star Wars: Episode VII's Full Title to be Revealed at Sdcc?

May the 4th, the official Star Wars day, is almost here, and most sources are pointing to that being the day we get some official Star Wars: Episode VII news...Which makes sense considering the film is starting production that month and something has to come out soon.  Until then, however, we're stuck with rumors and today's is a report about when we'll finally know the full title of the film.

I know it's a tad ridiculous that we're reduced to reporting on rumors for when we'll be getting news...but that's just how anticipated the new Star Wars movie is.  What's really ridiculous/sad is how excited I get over little news bits like this, which ultimately aren't really news.  Alas, such is the life of hardcare Star Wars fanboys like myself.

Today's scoop comes from Vulture's editor Kyle Buchanan who took to twitter to drop this tasty bit: »

Third Hobbit Film Officially Retitled to Battle of Five Armies

Not too long ago, rumors started swirling about that the third, and final, The Hobbit film would be getting a title change.  Even back when the series was originally two films, it's been titled There and Back Again, a reference to Tolkien's original tale.  Turns out the rumors were true (even if they reported on the wrong title) and Peter Jackson has announced the film will now be called The Battle of Five Armies.

Yep, the final Hobbit movie is now The Battle of Five Armies, a title which I'm not entirely sold on.  I know the battle played a big part in the book and is one of Middle-Earth's great battles, but that's not a story in and of itself.  It's an event, and it makes me feel as though the final film will be nothing more than a big battle.

Perhaps, I'm being too harsh here, but it's »

Serkis recently spoke to IGN about the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and discussed a lot of things about the film. Here is part of what he had to say in that interview.

“At the end of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, we were left in a situation where the virus had taken hold. We got the impression »

Flash Gordon Celebrates 80th Birthday With the Announcement of a New Film Version

22 April 2014 11:14 PM, PDT

Flash Gordon has been an iconic sci-fi character since he was created by cartoonist Alex Raymond in 1934. Eight decades later, the space-faring hero gets a gift for his 80th birthday in the form of a new film.

Flash Gordon--who saved the world from Ming the Merciless, with help from Dale Arden and Dr. Zarkov-- is taking another trip. This time, he’s coming back to the big screen. Twentieth Century Fox has closed a deal that gives them the screen rights to the iconic space hero. As part of the whole package, the same guys who are working on the Star Trek 3 script--J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay—along with John Davis as producer, will be putting the screenplay together. Davis spent over a year securing the rights from the Hearst Corporation.

The success of the comic strip in the 30s led to the popular trilogy of movie »

The Best Sony Exclusives: Metal Gear Solid

22 April 2014 10:39 AM, PDT

In 1998, Hideo Kojima released what would go on to become one of the most iconic franchises in video game history. Yes it is true that Metal Gear had a few games released before Metal Gear Solid, but the first Solid game is what became something great. From that day we have seen several variations of Mgs on all kinds of consoles that have been truly groundbreaking in several ways. While Mgs may not be entirely exclusive, it once was, and because of that…. it is one of Sony’s greatest PlayStation Exclusives.

Each month the Cinelinx staff will write a handful of articles covering a specified video game-related topic. These articles will be notified by the Gamerlinx banner. Gamerlinx, like our Movielinx counterpart, is an exploration and discussion of our personal connections with the world of gaming. Production Officially Begins on Terminator: Genesis

22 April 2014 8:54 AM, PDT

We've known for a while that 2015 is set to be an epic year for movies, with several highly anticipated movies, and franchise reboots on the way.  The great news right now, however, is that all of those films we're looking forward to are finally going into production.  One of which, just started up yesterday, in Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis

I know that not everyone is terribly excited about another Terminator movie, due to the franchise's decline over the years, but I'm pumped for it.  I didn't hate Salvation like everyone else did, but I do feel the series' turn to more action rather than a time-traveling sci-fi adventure has hurt it.  So I have high hopes for Terminator: Genesis, even if there's not much reason for it right now.  Yesterday, SkyDance Productions took to their Facebook page to announce that production on the newest Terminator movie has started filming officially. »

Bioware Reveals Sexy Box Art for Dragon Age: Inquisition, But No Release Date Yet

21 April 2014 1:44 PM, PDT

Bioware does quite a few things right in the video game biz, among them is making things look absolutely awesome.  Their marketing arm is always top notch (just look at all the awesome stuff leading up to Mass Effect 3), and today they've decided to show off the art work that'll be gracing the cover of their upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition.  Come inside to check it out!

Just a little bit ago, Bioware took to their twitter to reveal the box art for the third game (coming to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC) in the Dragon Age franchise...and it's pretty awesome.  Just take a look:

Seriously, that's damn fine looking artwork.  Even for gamers unfamiliar with the franchise, it's eye-catching and makes you want to know more.  Following up on that, Bioware said they purposely designed the character on the cover to be gender-neutral.  Since players can »
