Warner Bros May Be Very Worried About Batman v. Superman Due To Early Viewing Responses

13 February 2016 8:57 AM, PST

Are the execs at Warner Bros. starting to have doubts about their upcoming superhero epic? According to the crew over at Hitfix, inside sources say that the early reactions from people who’ve already seen Superman vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice are “starting to scare” the powers-that-be at the WB.

Is there a problem with the highly anticipated DC superhero flick Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Maybe so, if you believe the people over at Hitflix and their inside sources. Keep in mind that none of the people quoted here have seen the entire film, so all this is all based on third-party sources.

The final trailer for the much-hyped film has come out and while reaction to the trailer itself has been overwhelmingly positive from those who’ve seen it, that may not be the case for people who’ve actually seen the entire movie. Drew McWeeny, a »

Bungie Announces Destiny Expansion, Destiny 2 Delayed

11 February 2016 1:30 PM, PST

Activision Blizzard’s earnings call today revealed some news on the cash cow that is Destiny. If you were hoping for Destiny 2 this year you’ll be waiting a bit longer. Destiny 2 is set to release sometime in 2017 however the company did say that there will be another major expansion for Destiny this year.

This new expansion could be as big as the Taken King but that's all speculation right now.  There has been a serious departure of players from the game (including this humble yet, super nerd) and some have even stated that maybe we’ve shelled out too much for this game expansion wise. For this player I’m just saying this thing better be worth it price and content wise.

While initial reports for Destiny 2 had it pegged to release This year, that's not going to happen.  Perhaps this shuffling around is why we haven't heard much »

Own The Art Of Doom This Spring

11 February 2016 12:41 PM, PST

Okay continuing my excitement for Doom we got some new offering outside the game. Dark Horse Books and Bethesda Softworks are bringing us some books with beautiful illustrations of art from the game. Now I know this is a niche market cause most people are like if I want to see the artwork I’ll just play the game. But there are certainly some out there like Assassin’s Creed, Final Fantasy, and others where the artwork is so stunning you can’t help but want a closer look at it.

Now it won’t be just straight art of course. Progressive sketches, commentary for the devs and unused shots will also be in it. One thing that it will illustrate is, the weaponry. If you’ve seen some of the gun designs for this game, you’ll understand why I’m excited. Now I will argue that maybe this »

Batman V Superman Gets a Final Bat-Centric Trailer

11 February 2016 8:59 AM, PST

The final trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has arrived, giving fans the best look yet at the new Dark Knight in action along with other amazing new footage.  Come inside to take a look!

In my opinion, this is the best Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer of them all.  I could've just seen this one and I would've been happy.  In the trailer, we follow Batman (Ben Affleck) and Alfred (Jeremy Irons) during one of his missions.

This is the best showing of Ben Affleck as the Batman.  He's brutal, crafty, and unforgiving. Furthermore, the dynamic between Batman and Alfred is spot on.  Later, we also get the first audio of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and I'm not disappointed.  Finally, they saved the best scene for last.  The look of shock on Superman's (Henry Cavill) face as Batman stops one of his punches, is absolutely priceless. »

10 February 2016 2:01 PM, PST

Our favorite hedgehog is going Hollywood! Sega CEO Hajime Satomi has announced that the company is developing a live action hybrid movie!  Come inside to find out what that means.

In an age where childhood tv shows, comic books, and even video games are being adapted for film, on a frequent basis, Sega has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog will be added to that list.

Speaking with The Worldfolio, CEO of Sega Hajime Satomi had this to say about the speedy hedgehog's future:

"Sega Sammy Group is currently planning with Sony Pictures to create a live-action and animation hybrid ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ movie scheduled for release in 2018. Like with this CG animation production, we would like to expand our business into other entertainment areas beyond what we are currently involved."

New Poster and Images Drop For Ratchet and Clank Movie

10 February 2016 1:19 PM, PST

The much beloved Ratchet & Clank video game franchise is becoming a movie and have new images and an official poster in advance of the April release!

Last year, we got our first taste of the Ratchet & Clank movie with the trailer, above.

Now, with just a few months away until the big premiere, Gramercy has sent us some brand new images and an official poster to build up the hype.  You've already seen the poster above but now check out the images below.

I can't tell you how many hours I logged, playing Ratchet and Clank.  It's a fantastic and entertaining series with characters that are easy to love.  With the movie they're aiming it toward children, as they should.  Ratchet & Clank has always been a family friendly title.  I'm really pulling for this to be one of the few successful video game to movie films. Star Wars: Republic Commando Developer Talks Sequel Plans and Sev's Fate

10 February 2016 12:40 PM, PST

Fans have long clamored for a sequel to Star Wars: Republic Commando, especially since the ending left on something of a cliffhanger and one character's fate unresolved.  I got the chance to speak with the game's lead programmer Brett Douville who revealed what Would have happened to the character if the sequel had happened.  Come inside to check it out!

LucasArts had a nasty habit of leaving their Star Wars gaming franchises behind without tying up loose ends, they are still something that keeps gamers talking all these years later.  Last year, I was happy to chat with Haden Blackman about The Force Unleashed and the ideas for what another sequel could have been...and that only made me eager to delve into more Star Wars games we needed answers from.

Brett Douville, the lead dev on Republic Commando was kind enough to talk with me about his time at LucasArts, »

Get Patriotic in the Trailer for The Purge: Election Year

10 February 2016 12:08 PM, PST

It's once again time for the annual purge!  However, this time, they're taking the fight to Capital Hill in the new trailer for The Purge: Election Year!

The Purge is on for a 3rd and, potentially, last time if presidential nominee Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell) has anything to say about it.  When the people within high society hear of this, they send out a team of assassins to take her out on the deadliest night of the year.

The Purge: Election Year is doing something new that they haven't done in the previous two films, bring a character back.  Frank Grillo is reprising his role as Sergeant from The Purge Anarchy.  This time, though, he'll be tasked with keeping alive the one woman who could end The Purge, forever.

I'm usually not into horror films or anything of the sort.  However, I really liked the first two Purge films.  I »

Tuesday Toy Review: Star Wars The Black Series

10 February 2016 8:19 AM, PST

Dude to a bad upload I apologize for the tardiness of the Tuesday Toy Review but hey I got some good stuff for you guys this week. Well I found Jango Fett who's probably the hardest to find next to Finn in Stormtrooper armor. The Flametrooper is nice for troop building with another unique armor design. And the Walgreens exclusive Darth Vader Emperor's Wrath is a mixed hit for me and I blame my fellow toycollector, editor, and boss Jordan for that. Check out the reviews below.
