The Awesome Yet Awkward Metal Gear Solid  (Games and more games!)

The PS2 didn’t have the strongest launch lineup, but over the years the PS2 had the strongest lineup of games ever! I remember walking down the aisle and there was seriously something for every person. Hundreds and hundreds of games, probably thousands, and the boom was real. The console was fairly easy to develop »

Kojima Says Metal Gear Solid V Will Be His Last Metal Gear

Yes we have heard him say it with almost every single Metal Gear, but come check out what he said and decide for yourself.... is this really it?

After every Metal Gear Solid release Kojima has stated at some point "this is my last one."  A year or two pass and the worlds favorite troller is back at it again, making another awesome Metal Gear title.

Well The Phantom Pain is following that tradition, so far, because Kojima has once again said it was his last. In an interview with IGN he stated:

"I always say 'this will be my last Metal Gear,'" Kojima said, "but the games in the series that I've personally designed and produced -- Metal Gear on Msx, MG2, MGS1, 2, 3, 4, Peace Walker, and now Mgsv -- are what constitute a single 'Metal Gear Saga.' With Mgsv, I'm finally closing the loop on that saga. »

To be honest, I was entirely, utterly, sold on Ex Machina after seeing the first trailer for the movie.  While the concept of artificial intelligence is nothing new, the approach this film seems to be taking with it, feels unique and like something that will keep my mind spinning long after the credits roll.  Today sees the releas of a new trailer, and it's even more amazing:

Alex Garland, writer of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, makes his directorial debut with the stylish and cerebral thriller, Ex MacHina. Unreal Engine 4 Is Free For All Developers and Education

2 March 2015 10:24 AM, PST

Unreal Engine powers a lot of games you play today, and a lot of indie developers can utilize it to make impressive titles...so everyone should be pretty happy to hear the UE4 is now free for developers!  Come inside to learn more about today's announcement.

It wasn't too long ago that Epic Games announced a few changes to Unreal Engine. First it was free to small groups, and then it had a subscription to make it more open to everyone. Well today it is free for everyone. Education, small developers, large developers, it's free!

The only catch is that Epic Games takes a 5 percent take in all profits a game makes beyond $3000. That really isn't a bad deal at all. Basically that is saying you can make up to 3 thousand with no worries, and if you are making more than that then 5 percent is nothing. As Epic Games stated "We succeed when you succeed. »

Tribute to Actor Leonard Nimoy

2 March 2015 8:45 AM, PST

The news of Leonard Nimoy's passing last week caused me to reflect on the icon's career. I thought it was time to celebrate his many TV and cinematic accomplishments outside of Star Trek sans the ears that have made him so famous. For the sake of keeping things in focus, I'm concentrating on his other genre appearances and voice work.

The Autobots have run up against a villainous Leonard Nimoy on two separate occasions. He voiced the sinister Galvatron in 1986’s animated The Transformers: The Movie. He also lent his familiar vocal talents to bring to life the traitorous Sentinel Prime for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. We should have known he was evil from the moment we saw the “Mirror, Mirror” evil Spock beard the robot sported.

The actor was taken over by aliens for the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He plays the part of Dr. »

Paying Tribute to Leonard Nimoy

2 March 2015 8:08 AM, PST

In my short time as an entertainment writer and blogger, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of my childhood icons. Legends I grew up rushing home after school to watch on TV and gawked at in wonder on the silver screen. Not everyone in the world can say they’ve met Captain James T. Kirk, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Darth Vader, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and so many others I can’t even remember. One of the most memorable encounters was with the man who brought Mr. Spock to life – Leonard Nimoy.

As I sat in Chuck E. Cheese today, I was ready for a fun afternoon of killing Aliens and stopping the Joker from blowing up Gotham City from behind the wheel of the Batmobile. My cell phone beeped and as I checked to see what the latest entertainment scoop was, my »
