Former Kiss Guitarist Bruce Kulick Reflects on Band's Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame Induction

17 April 2014 11:30 PM, PDT

Kiss was recently inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame after forty years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. Unlike other bands, not all of their current and former associates were asked to share the honor. The Hall of Fame only awarded original members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss in the ceremony which took place on April 10, 2014.

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were enraged by the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame's decision and refused to perform at the event. How could thirty years of hit records and songs still being played in their concert sets just be ignored? Not only were the two founding members of Kiss irritated by this, but many fans of the band's music past their early makeup days were as well.

We've heard from the original four founders of Kiss in regards to how they feel about their »

Review: Age Of Wonders 3 is an explorer's delight!

17 April 2014 2:39 PM, PDT

I set my sights on Age Of Wonders 3, the latest release in Triumph Studio’s Age Of Wonders series. After months of pining for a new strategy game, I thought I would throw myself in at the deep-end and get my hands on this colossus.

I knew of the series, and knew it had a pretty big following, but somehow it passed me by in the blur of games I have played over the years. After playing the game for a good few hours, I came to the conclusion that I have been missing out, that I was falling in love with what I find to be a very intriguing, creative and cleverly elaborate game.

Game Modes

As with many good strategy based games, Age Of Wonders 3 boasts a range of different game modes that you can sink your teeth into, which can be modified to suit particular tastes;

Sony Offered To Put Titanfall On Vita

17 April 2014 11:00 AM, PDT

According to some behind the scenes information, Titanfall could have hit more than just consoles.

A new app for Titanfall released called The Final Hours of Titanfall. Within it are some behind the scenes information about the making of the game. A great deal of the information is simply the whole lawsuit stages that the studio went through. As most know, Activision wasn't too thrilled about Vince Zampella and Jason West departing only to end up at EA. They also were not too thrilled about losing a lot of money on Call of Duty.

A good understanding is held through it to showcase why West actually left Respawn too. According to the articles a majority of the companies early stages had the studio cut in half. Half the team was working "heads-down" on Titanfall, while the other half was stuck in court battling it out with Activision. This lead to »

Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none As a Spider-Man fan one thing I always look forward to with the release of a new Amazing Spider-Man movie is a game along with it. But now there’s a nasty rumor floating around that Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Game may not see a release on Xbox One.

Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none An official statement reads “We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One,” a company statement reads. “When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is Tbd.” As of now Activision has removed all artwork for Xbox One versions of the game and no other details have been released. Mrs. Doubtfire is returning to the big screen and so is Robin Williams!  However, is this a good or bad thing?  Why has it taken so long to make a sequel?  Come in to read more!

It has been over 20 years since our favorite "manny" graced the big screen and it looks like she/he's coming back for one more time. Today, Fox 2000 announced that Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is currently in development with both Robin Williams and Chris Columbus, who directed the first film, set to return.

The first film, based on the novel by Anne Fine's Madame Doubtfire, was about a struggling actor who is going through a messy divorce. In order to spend more time with his children, Daniel Hilliard (Robin Williams) disguises himself as a female housekeeper and hilarity ensues. In 1993, Mrs. Doubtfire grossed over $440 million worldwide and became an instant classic.

James Franco has a Cameo in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes so Surprising, Even he Didn't Know About it

16 April 2014 12:46 PM, PDT

Not many people know that James Franco has a cameo appearance in director Matt Reeves’ upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. James Franco was one of the people who were unaware of this fact. Franco was surprised by the news that his character from the first film, Will Rodman, has a “posthumous cameo via video".

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the interviewer revealed some inside knowledge about the video cameo by the deceased Dr. Will Rodman. Franco was taken aback because he had no idea.

He responded, "Wait, I have a cameo? I didn’t even know that. You know, I don’t even think they asked my permission to do that."

It’s not clear whether the cameo will be done by using footage taken from the first film, or some unused scenes that were left on the cutting room floor in the post-production stage of »

The Final Trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past is Pretty Awesome

16 April 2014 6:00 AM, PDT

Days of Future Past is peaking around the corner and looking better than ever with their latest trailer.

Being a fan of the X-Men since my conception I feel your pain when it comes to some of the films that have been released under Fox Studios. So I have high hopes that their latest endeavor will make up for Last Stand and Origins.  What they did to Deadpool is almost unforgivable.

Check out the latest trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past and decide for yourself if Fox is making up for their sins.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-men: Days Of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past — to save our future.

Rumor: The Last of Us: PS4 Edition Releasing June 20th

15 April 2014 11:15 AM, PDT

The official statement is "Summer 2014" but several retailers have listed an actual date for the upcoming release.

Sony announced the remastered edition of The Last of Us, but their release date was more of a timeframe.

Yet several retailers including Target, Best Buy, and Gamefly have all randomly listed June 20th as the actual date. This would fall on a Friday, and it would be extremely odd if they all decided to use the same date. Yet that could be possible.

So while it could be a placeholder, it seems fair to be unlikely. Not only is it a Friday, but it is one week after E3. Sony could announce the date at E3, then people will go home and purchase it. The original game released a few days after E3, which made people like me have to delay the purchase until we got home.

Another interesting note is that »

EA's NHL 14 Predicts Stanley Cup Champs

15 April 2014 11:02 AM, PDT

Much like Madden predicts the Super Bowl, EA also let the current playoff tree run and we now have a winner.

EA Sports' NHL 14 has predicted that the Boston Bruins will win the Stanley Cup this year! Since my Coyotes were knocked out already, I'm not too sad about it either. Plus they are obvious choices since they have been a powerhouse the past month or so!

What exactly happens?

From EA " The EA Sports™ NHL® 14 Stanley Cup® Playoffs simulation predicts that the Boston Bruins will return to the Stanley Cup Final for the second straight year and prevail as Stanley Cup Champions after defeating the San Jose Sharks in six games. This will mark the first Stanley Cup win for veteran Jarome Iginla, whose last appearance in the Stanley Cup Final was a decade ago with the Calgary Flames. Tuukka Rask, finishing the Playoffs with an outstanding 1.56 Gaa, .948 Sv% and four shutouts, »

The Best Sony Exclusives: God of War

15 April 2014 9:45 AM, PDT

Back in 2006 Sony set a new standard in the action/adventure genre with God of War.  The game has spawned a successful gaming franchise now, with many other games emulating it's style.  At the time of its release, however, God of War was revolutionary and showcased the power still residing within Sony's PlayStation 2.  Since we're examining the best Sony exclusives this month, it's almost impossible to not mention David Jaffe and Sony Santa Monica's incredible action title.

Each month the Cinelinx staff will write a handful of articles covering a specified video game-related topic. These articles will be notified by the Gamerlinx banner. Gamerlinx, like our Movielinx counterpart, is an exploration and discussion of our personal connections with the world of gaming. This month our Gamer’s Club is putting the spotlight on Sony’s seminal console, the PlayStation 1, so for Gamerlinx we wanted take a look at the best »

Hans Zimmer Says He's Scoring Batman vs. Superman

15 April 2014 7:31 AM, PDT

Hans Zimmer is a pretty hot commodity right now in terms of musical composition, being attached to a number of high profile film projects; most recently The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  He's behind all of Christopher Nolan's Batman films, and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, so many assumed he'd be returning to score Batman vs. Superman.  In a recent interview, Zimmer all but confirms he's returning and expresses his fears about coming up with a new theme for the caped crusader.

I like Hans Zimmer...I like him a lot.  I think he does great work (though it may not be exactly subtle) and felt that Man of Steel benefited greatly from his work.  To be entirely honest, soundtracks on films have never been all that important to me.  Music hasn't ever been my "thing" especially since I'm deaf in one ear, but Zimmer's soundtracks always manage to catch my attention. »

Princess Peach Gets her Own Wii Remote Plus

15 April 2014 6:35 AM, PDT

Nintendo loves messing around with it's consoles and coming out with new special versions for gamers and collectors to swoon over.  The same can be said for their controllers and peripherals, as not too long ago, the company released special Mario and Luigi themed versions of the Wii Remote Plus.  If that wasn't enough for you, today they've revealed an all new Princess Peach version.  Come inside to check it out!

Aside from my very awesome R2-D2 Xbox 360, I've never been really big into specialized versions of consoles/controllers.  While they're neat, since I already had working "regular" versions of them already, I couldn't justify the cost.  However, there's a big group of gaming collectors out there, who love this stuff, and if I had the money, I'd be right there with them!

Nintendo hereby announces a new Wii Remote Plus controller styled in the royal fashion of Princess Peach. »

Paul Bettany Discusses Playing the Vision in Age of Ultron

14 April 2014 3:31 PM, PDT

J.A.R.V.I.S. is getting a reboot in the next Avengers film, being upgraded from computer servant to android superhero. Paul Bettany talked to Jimmy Kimmel about his new role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Vision.

Paul Bettany is a talented actor, having been in Oscar-nominated films like A Beautiful Mind and Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World. He’s never been an A-Lister, but his role in the upcoming sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron could help raise his profile.  In previous Marvel films, he’s provided the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S., Tony Stark’s helpful computer AI. In the sequel, he’ll be playing the Vision, an android super hero who has been a member of the Avengers in the comics since 1968. The character was a revised version of earlier hero created by the legendary Jack Kirby in 1940, also called the Vision. »
