SXSW - We Interview The Heroes From Served Like A Girl

Served Like a Girl premiered at SXSW last week and it is a documentary that follows five female veterans and how they create a sort of sisterhood to help the rising number of stranded homeless women veterans. We got the chance to sit down with a some of the female veterans and filmmaker Lysa Hayland Heslov.

Heslov's friend told her about Miss Veteran America which is a competition and pageant for female veterans. It highlights their courage, strength, and intelligence but also reminds us that they are mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives. The documentary follows these veterans as they help with homeless vets and prepare for this competition. “I thought what a brilliant way to tell these women's stories and go on this journey with them as you're leading up to this great competition,” explains Heslov. The competition is about raising awarness and funds to homeless female veterans so it all ties in. »

Black Cat and Silver Sable Could Be On There Way

We have heard that the Spider-Verse is not done growing a lot lately. From the looks of it we are full steam ahead with Spider-Man spin offs.

Late last week we got news that a Venom spin off is still in the works for Sony. whether or not it will actually connect to Spider-Man: Homecoming and the McU still remains to be seen. However it appears now that Venom is not the only Spider-Man character getting their own film. It looks as if we are getting some of the stronger female characters in their own films.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 we got introduced to Felicity Jones as Felicia Hardy and as nerds we all got excited for the potential of Black Cat making her feature film debut! Unfortunately nothing materialized from that and we were left in the dark. Until now. Looks like Sony is revving up for a »

Since Activision re-released Modern Warfare to play in glorious HD, it's been a hit amongst Call of Duty fans.  Luckily for these fans, Activision hasn't stopped updating the widely successful futuristic war game.  They continue to release remastered maps to add diversity to the game's strongest feature, multiplayer.

Broadcast: Based on the TV station from the campaign mission “Charlie Don’t Surf”, this map provides a unique blend of confined corridors and wide-open spaces. It's an Origin Story in the First Captain Underpants Trailer

The much beloved kids book, Captain Underpants, is finally making it's way to the big screen.  While we've known about it for a while (and seen some promising images), today brings about the first official trailer for the animated adventure.  Come inside to check it out!

Having never read any of the Captain Underpants books (and my kids not getting into them either, surprisingly), I was curious to see what the level of interest would be for other movie-goers like me.  After watching this first trailer, my interest is certainly piqued...though I'm not entirely sold either:

I'm really digging the animation style they've gone with, which is much akin to how The Peanuts Movie was brought to life.  As someone who isn't as familiar with the story, and I doubt I'm the only parent who is, I appreciate the trailer giving some background information on the character/story.  It definitely seems interesting, »

New Baywatch Trailer Has Jokes Aplenty

This morning brings about a brand new trailer for the upcoming Baywatch movie.  While it fills in a lot more of the plot than the first trailer, it's also wall-to-wall packed with jokes and hilarious gags.  Come inside to check it out!

Just about every time I think I have no interest in seeing the new Baywatch movie, something comes along that piques my interest...Like today's trailer.  The first teaser we got a few months ago made it clear this film would be going hard on the comedic action route, but this new trailer takes it to an all new level:

I couldn't stop laughing throughout this trailer.  The interactions between The Rock and Zac Efron look hilarious and dynamic, something that seems like it'll easily steal the show.  The trick is going to be whether or not they can keep the humor strong and paced well throughout the movie, »

It's going to be an exciting year for Fire Emblem fans, as the franchise is taking off like never before.  Earlier in the year, Nintendo announced a slew of new Fire Emblem titles, included a Dynasty Warriors styled game coming to the Switch later this year, and a new "traditional" console entry in 2018.  On top of that, we're also getting a new 3Ds game with Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia on May 19th.

Watch Doom Run On An Overpriced Calculator

20 March 2017 3:17 PM, PDT

Add "overpriced calculator" to your list of things Doom can run on, check it out after the jump.

As we figured out by now, Doom can run on anything that basically has a screen. Sometimes the screen doesn't even need a keypad either. We've seen fridges, Atm machines, keyboards, and many other things which made Doom one of our "Games We Love" titles.

Now you can add a Texas Instruments Calculator to the list. You know, those overpriced calculators you are forced to buy in college. Check it out.

Call me a disgruntled college student, but when you can buy a smartphone with more horsepower and capabilities than the calculator at a lower cost (Or even cheap alternatives), and yet not be allowed to use it instead, there seems to be something fishy. You know, like backdoor deals between a company and a school to further rip off students. But hey, »

SXSW Free Fire Cast/Crew Red Carpet Interviews

20 March 2017 1:52 PM, PDT

A24's Free Fire brought its U.S Premiere to South By Southwest. Anarchic Writer/Director Ben Wheatley (High-Rise, Kill List, A Field In England) and cast, Armie Hammer (The Social Network, Lone Ranger) & (the insane) Sharlto Copley (District 9, Chappie), were in attendance. And the film's promotional presence was appropriately subversive. Press had the opportunity to barbecue with Armie and paintball with Sharlto at the explosive 'Stunt Ranch' which featured plenty other daredevil diversions.

The Q&A's on either end were no less distinct. Ben will shoot a dumb question down with his deadpan shorthand, Sharlto with his charming abrasiveness, and Armie with his cool formality. The laughter provoked through the film persisted into the Q&A.

But before things got too rowdy, I was able to talk with Ben a second time (the first a discussion on High-Rise) and with Armie Hammer for the first, about their creative »
