Oddworld's Lorne Lanning Shows Off the Characters, Locations, and More in Oddworld: Soulstorm

Earlier today at Egx, Oddworld series founder, Lorne Lanning, revealed a bit more on their upcoming game Oddworld: Soulstorm. What new information was released and why are longtime fans perplexed just by the game's Ui? Read this and find out!

As a longtime fan of the Oddworld series, I got little sleep the night before in anticipation for what would be revealed on Oddworld's new game, Soulstorm, a remade and revamped Abe's Exoddus, at Egx. I had hoped for gameplay or even a hint at a release date, but got no such luck. However, what was shown of the upcoming Soulstorm left me with more questions than answers.

Updated character models and new character "profiles" were the main focus of Oddworld's presentation. Abe, Oddworld's main protagonist, has been completely revamped to fit the darker, grittier art and tone. Along with Abe's updated style comes the updated villainous glukkons, including Molluck, »

New Trailer For Murder On The Orient Express

21 September 2017 2:05 PM, PDT

A second full length trailer for Murder On The Orient Express has hit the internet. I for one believe it was Dame Judi Dench, in the caboose, with the candle stick.

More importantly then who may or may not be the killer, we are given our first look at Johnny Depp in the film through this new trailer. Playing the Gangster, Ratchett, Depp is poised to bring us one of his more subtle classic performances, rather then the outlandish Jack Sparrow role.

The trailer is full of intense shots of the train and a man with a gun. There's a scream, and announcement to the passengers that someone has been killed, and the detective lets us know, that everyone is a suspect. The investigation will not end, until the murderer is found, and the entirety of Imagine Dragons "Believer" is played. Check it out below.

The film is filled full of characters, »

Find Your Best Friend in the First Trailer for Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs

21 September 2017 2:05 PM, PDT

Take a look inside Wes Anderson's next animated project, Isle of Dogs, with the first trailer below!

You have to give it to Wes Anderson, he certainly is original.  I don't think I've ever seen another director who can mimic the same formula in live-action as Anderson can in animated films.  Isle of Dogs is the perfect examply of this, as Anderson captures the story of the Japanese government banishing/quarantining their dogs to an island of trash in the trademark way only he can create.

This film looks like so much fun.  I've always enjoyed Wes Anderson's unique way of storytelling, and Isle of Dogs looks like it'll be another fun film for moviegoers.  Furthermore, this has the potential to be one of Anderson's more successful animated films, as it features an all-star cast, along with an intriguing story.

Dontnod Pushes Vampyr Back to 2018

21 September 2017 9:02 AM, PDT

Vampyr, a darkly atmospheric action RPG which was set to release this November on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Pc, has been delayed. What do the developers have to say about the delay? How pushed back is the game's release date? Should you start sharpening your pitchforks?? That last one is a definite "no," but come on in for the answers to all your other questions!

Eagerly awaited by many players, upcoming RPG Vampyr announces the delay of its release date to Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DontNod Entertainment, explains:

"Delaying the release of a project you hold dear is always a tough decision. However, we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality. We were still convinced just a few weeks ago that we would be able to release Vampyr this year. Unfortunately, a technical issue - now solved - has set our »

Linda Hamilton to Return as Sarah Connor in New Terminator

20 September 2017 1:45 PM, PDT

One of movie's original badasses is returning to the brand she helped make famous!  See below for more information on Linda Hamilton returning to the Terminator franchise!

She was only in two movies but it's apparent how vital Linda Hamilton's presence was for the Terminator franchise.  After Terminator 2: Judgement Day (arguably the best one), the franchise took quite a hit with several flops, including Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and, more recently, Terminator: Genisys.

Now, 20th Century Fox, Skydance, and Paramount are at it again, but this time they plan on bringing back the original team to help revitalize the series.  James Cameron was already brought on board to be a producer/consultant, while Arnold Schwartzeneggar seems always game for another Terminator revival, the only original member missing was Sarah Connor.

Thankfully, during a private event, Cameron made the announcement that Linda Hamilton will be reprising »

The First Trailer for Marvel's The Punisher Drops With A Bang

20 September 2017 8:03 AM, PDT

The trailer for the next stand-alone Marvel series on Netflix has emerged and it's everything you ever wanted and more from The Punisher!

If you thought Jon Bernthal's depiction of Frank Castle in Daredevil Season 2 was brutal, his solo series on Netflix is about to take it to the next level.  Netflix has released the first full-length trailer for Marvel's The Punisher.  If you like bullets flying, goons dying, to the music of Metallica's One, then this is the trailer for you.

Whoever edited that trailer together deserves an instant Emmy nomination for the way they cut together One with the action going on in the trailer.  When the bullets were flying during the bridge, I wasn't sure which was the song and which were the bullets.

Outside of the incredible choice in music, the rest of the trailer looked equally amazing.  The way we saw the backstory of how his family died, »

Weird Movie Tie-In Toys

20 September 2017 7:18 AM, PDT

Join us as we take a look at some of the most head-scratching (and disturbing) movie-based toys to reach the market, and marvel at how they ever became approved.

Movie merchandising, especially the merchandising of toys, is a Big business. According to the Hollywood Reporter, movie merchandising was responsible for $262.9 billion worth of sales in 2016 (globally). Of that total, 45% were a result of toy and other entertainment-related transactions. That’s about $118 billion worth of merchandise, versus movie ticket sales which only totaled an estimated $38.6 billion. From these numbers, it is easy to see why film studios put such an emphasis on the merchandising capabilities of their films, especially the big-budget franchises.

However, just because studios and toy manufacturers have profited immensely from the merchandising of movies doesn’t necessarily mean that those efforts have been quality or well thought out. For the most part, those responsible for making toys for »

New Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle Trailer Takes You Deeper Into the Game

20 September 2017 6:41 AM, PDT

The second trailer for the new Jumanji movie has arrived giving audiences a deeper look into the story of the upcoming film, with callbacks to the first movie.  Come inside to check it out!

Where the first trailer forJumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was all about setting up the basics of the film and establishing some chemistry between the characters, today's brand new trailer for the film goes a little bit deeper into the story and highlights the other characters the heroes will encounter:

Yes there are plenty of goofy things in this trailer, but honestly, it looks like a lot of fun to me.  I'm not expecting Oscar greatness out of it, but there looks to be some genuine humor and action scenes to enjoy.  At the very least, I love the idea of how the game itself is changing things to continue sucking in players.  There's some neat »

First Official Trailer for Tomb Raider has Arrived

19 September 2017 6:11 PM, PDT

As promised yesterday with a (admittedly wonky) movie poster, today brings about the first official trailer for the brand new Tomb Raider movie, giving fans their first look at the new Lara Croft in action.  Come inside to take a gander!

The rebooted Tomb Raider games (which are incredible) has brought all new attention to the character/story of Lara Croft.  With their success, it didn't take the studios long to take advantage of the resurgence and get a new Tomb Raider movie reboot off the ground.  While we've seen images of Alicia Vikander from the new film, this is our first real look at how the new movie will play out:

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen.  Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, »

Get Your First Look at the Gameplay of WWE 2K18

19 September 2017 12:20 PM, PDT

We are less than a month away from the release of the newest installment of WWE Games. And this week 2K Games, the WWE, and IGN gave us our first look at the gameplay of WWE 2K18

While we still don’t get any new details about MyCareer, or any story mode in the game, we do finally get a real look at the actual in game mechanics. They sure do look pretty crisp. As a professional wrestler myself, this video really shows how much of a real to life gaming feel they are trying to give you. Take a look here:

As you can tell it looks very smooth, with a lot of new move sets added, and the ability to truly fight almost anywhere. It feels a lot like the return of a franchise favorite, Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain where players could really move about the entire arena to fight. »

Say No to Nazis in Latest Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Trailer

19 September 2017 11:39 AM, PDT

This morning brings about a brand new gameplay trailer for Wolfenstein II, showing off more insane shooting action and Blazkowicz's resistance against the Nazi's who've taken over America.  Come inside to check it out!

As if you needed an excuse to see Nazi's getting their asses handed to them, the latest Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus trailer has arrived and it's pretty glorious.  If you're looking forward to the sequel it's a great look at a new area and the intense battles you'll be playing:

The Nazis have taken over America. They've turned Manhattan into a wasteland. They’ve walled off New Orleans and are systematically purging the city, burning people and homes to the ground. And they brazenly walk the streets of small-town USA – going where they want, taking what they want and behaving however they please. But this is not Bj Blazkowicz’s America. The United States will »

Activision Unleashes A Powerful Trailer for Call of Duty: WWII

18 September 2017 3:33 PM, PDT

A new trailer for Call of Duty: WWII's story has just emerged and it may be the best they've ever done.

Something you don't hear too often is, "Wow, the story in Call of Duty Insert Name Here was incredible.".  It's usually more about the gameplay than it ever is about the story.  Sledgehammer Games decided to remedy that with a story trailer for Call of Duty: WWII that is sure to leave jaws dropped.

There is a lot to love about this trailer for Call of Duty: WWII.  First off, the graphics are sensational.  The textures of the scenery and the character models are like something from a movie.  Second, Sledgehammer must have cleared out the writer's room and brought in people who worked on any number of World War II movies and had them write the screenplay.  If this trailer is any indication, the story for Call of »
