Twin Peaks Season 3 Episodes 1 & 2 Review

Villordsutch reviews Twin Peaks Season 3 – Episodes 1 & 2…

Just over a quarter of a century – 26 years ago – Twin Peaks left our televisions with the deceased Laura Palmer informing both Special Agent Dale Cooper, along with the viewers of the show, that she will see us again in twenty-five years.  We didn’t expect this.  We received Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, a film which charted the final few days of Laura Palmer’s life (today people would dub it a prequel to the series) but we never actually expected Twin Peaks to return for a third season. But it has.

Episodes 1 and 2 were shown consecutively with no break bringing us the viewers into this more modern world of Twin Peaks.  If you’ve never seen an episode of Twin Peaks before and were hoping that this ‘return’ may actually be a ‘soft reboot’, expecting to be treated to perhaps a catch »

Movie Review – Baywatch (2017)

Baywatch, 2017.

Directed by Seth Gordon.

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Jon Bass.

Synopsis:

A washed-up Olympic swimmer finds himself teaming up with a squad of elite lifeguards to uncover an international drug smuggling plot and save the beach they’re sworn to protect.

Based on a famously cheesy, and similarly ridiculous, long-running TV show of the same name, it’s worth lowering your expectations for Baywatch straight off the bat. And even if you had no expectations to begin with, it’s still somehow worth lowering them further: this is about as brainless as summer movies get. Half gross-out farce, half stupendously silly buddy cop actioner, guaranteed to righteously offend anyone with even half-an-ounce of intellectualism to their film tastes. Everyone else though, is guaranteed a whale of a time.

It’s been a long time since someone made a blockbuster »

Flickering Myth goes axe throwing with King Arthur

To mark the release of King Arthur, Neil Calloway threw some axes…

When you think of King Arthur, you don’t immediately think of axe throwing, but the fact is that sword fighting is difficult and trying to retrieve a sword from a stone is, frankly, boring.

Whistle Punks offer “Urban Axe Throwing” – the closest, safest thing you’ll want to get to sword fighting and the best way to let off steam after a hard day at work, or the perfect way to round off a trip to see King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Of course, you don’t just turn up and start throwing axes – the instructors make you sign a waiver saying you’ll listen to what they say, and you’re not under the influence of drink and drugs. Quite why you’d want to do this while under the influence – it’s hard enough sober – I don’t know. »
