The second Thor film may feel like a lifetime ago, having been released in 2013, but the actor behind the film’s villain, Christopher Eccleston, is still a little miffed about the filming process, telling The Graham Norton Show (via Digital Spy) that Marvel weren’t honest with him about what the part would entail:

“The first couple of days it was about seven hours, eight hours. I think we got it down to six and a half. It’s a day’s work before [anything]. Marvel were dishonest to me. Because they never, ever let me know that there’d be that amount of makeup. So yeah, that was not my finest moment.”

Eccleston also told Norton that money was a motivating factor behind his decision to take the role of Malekith but that »

Jason Momoa defends Justice League, says it could have been two movies

Jason Momoa, one of the stars of Justice League, has defended the film from critics and stated that it could have been two movies.

Justice League is now playing on screens around the world, suffering a critical pounding and a disappointing opening weekend at the box office. The team-up blockbuster has the lowest opening for a Dceu film so far.

One of the film’s stars, Jason Momoa (who plays Aquaman), has defended the film – much like you might expect.

In an interview with EW, the actor said that he isn’t reading the negative feedback the film has received:

“I try to stay the fuck away from what people say,” Momoa said. “Some of my friends said, ‘Justice League isn’t doing well’ and it kind of bummed me out. But I didn’t want to look it up. I don’t want to look up the bad and the negativity. »

Marvel’s Runaways Season 1 Episode 1 Review – ‘Reunion’

Liam Hoofe reviews the series premiere of Marvel’s Runaways…

When the Marvel logo appears on your screen, it comes with a certain weight of expectation. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an unstoppable juggernaut on the big screen right now, with the studio churning out excellent movie after excellent movie. The company’s success on the small screen, however, has not been quite as consistent. While Marvel’s relationship with Netflix has been fairly fruitful so far, shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more recently Inhumans have not been as widely adored by audiences. Marvel’s latest project, an adaptation of everyone’s favourite teen heroes, Runaways, made its debut on Hulu this week.

One of the first thing you notice about Runaways is just how different it feels to the rest of the McU’s offerings. In such a saturated market, Marvel have realised that they have to adapt to survive, »

Marvel’s The Gifted Season 1 Episode 8 Review – ‘threat of eXtinction’

Rachel Bellwoar reviews the eighth episode of Marvel’s The Gifted

If last week’s episode wasn’t the most edge-of-your-seat, ‘threat of eXtinction’ is the complete package, an episode where all the storylines work together to provide a clearer image of what the Mutant Underground are up against.

On a trip to pick up refugees, Thunderbird, Blink and Eclipse run into one of Dr. Campbell’s moles, Chloe (Michelle Kim), resulting in one of The Gifted‘s awesome Mutant action sequences.  Like a sports team with a play book, Thunderbird uses Blink’s portal to get the drop on Chloe from above. You would think they practiced in advance, they work together so well, and they never roll out the same moves.

Besides earning a standing ovation in the fight choreography and special effects department, The Gifted doesn’t lose sleep wondering whether Chloe’s a spy. They get to be definitive, »

The Punisher showrunner talks Frank Castle’s nemesis Jigsaw

Steve Lightfoot, showrunner for The Punisher, has spoken about telling an origin story for the show’s villain.

The Punisher has well and truly arrived on Netflix, being as gruesome and brutal as one might expect. Aside from telling Frank’s tale of revenge against those that murdered his family, the show also acts as an origin story for Billy Russo, a.k.a. Jigsaw.

Jigsaw is Frank’s arch-nemesis, and Lightfoot has spoken to The Hollywood Reporter about the decisions made:

“We just wanted a great character in season one, first and foremost, who was a foil for Frank, and not some guy who is being evil for the sake of it,” said Lightfoot. “I think all of the best shows are where the villains think they’re the good guy. They don’t get up every day and go, ‘I’m going to be evil today!’”

Henry Cavill keen to “show Superman in his full colors”, contracted for one more DC movie

In the build up to the release of Justice League, Henry Cavill revealed that he felt the resurrected Man of Steel in Justice League is “the first time we see the true Superman” in the Dceu, and now the actor has been talking to The Los Angeles Times about how this sets the stage to tell a definitive Superman tale going forward.

“He’s definitely different from previous incarnations,” said Cavill with regards to Justice League’s Superman. “I feel like this is the natural progression from the end of Man of Steel into what he is now. This is a rebirth of the character, to coin the D.C. comics franchise right now: It’s a refresh. This movie highlights the qualities of Superman that exist in the comic books. That’s something I’ve always been very keen to highlight in the character. This rebirth provided the opportunity »
